Mod of the Year

Welcome to the 15th Annual Mod of the Year Awards, a celebration of the years finest mods chosen by you and us. For the next 4 weeks it is up to you to vote for your favorite mods so that they may make the top 100 which will be announced on the 11th of December.

Edain Mod took the crown last year as voted by you, the players and modders of this great community. There was also a plethora of great challengers, including Rise of the Reds finishing runner up and Mental Omega coming in 3rd. If you need a refresh of how last year's awards went down head on over to the top 10 countdown's for both players and editors to see who stood out among the pack.

There's been some huge releases this year and we look forward to seeing who will be climbing to the top to be awarded our 2016 Mod of the Year.

SEGA
Mod Awards proudly sponsored by SEGA

SEGA loves modders and that’s why we’re delighted to be involved in Gamer Networks Mod DB Awards. SEGA always tries to support the modding community where possible and this year alone launched Steam Workshop functionality for Total War: WARHAMMER, Football Manager 2017 and the SEGA Mega Drive Collection, finally giving the legions of talented ROM modders a place to legitimately share their amazing custom Mega Drive ROMs. Good luck to everyone who’s been nominated, carry on with the great work!

While you are looking into the Wolfenstein community, does ET: Legacy also qualify for being on the list? There was a release on September the 13th.

Man surely I thought Perfected Doom 3 would be on here. More watchers and more visits then any other Doom 3 mod other then the great Sikkmod and The Dark Mod. Oh well. Nice list and good luck to all.

Any chance a 9 year old mod getting into the list as well? We're preparing a huge update for Zombie Panic! Source but I don't think we will be able to made in time to release this year. Maybe some new media update or something if we get closer to the Top 100.

Well, good luck to the other mods! I've already voted in few of them already!

Thanks for including Hunter's Moon! Even though, i personally don't think my mod is ready to be included in such event yet, it is just halfway done atm.

Despite that, good luck to all!

EDIT: You know the guys plays too much Warhammer 40.000: Dawn of War when Ultimate Apocalipse is listed twice, lol.

Damn redux made the list as well. Great job to strelok. But perfected should be the #1 since I've included it with hundreds of redux's textures. It's basically like playing perfected mod with redux textures. there's honestly no difference except in better shaders and the special effects perfected has to offer. In my next version of my add on for perfected, I've included even more redux textures, it's a serious overhaul now and worth taking a look once it's released on Christmas.

Nice to see SEGA is the sponsor of this years ModDB Mod of the year finals. They really are happy and proud of modding & remake projects (in comparison to Nintendo, which forbids fan projects like the Pokemon Uranium)
