With the largest fanbase of any game ever released and well over 50 awards to it's name, Half-Life by Valve Software is undoubtably one of the greatest games ever. Half-Life's great assets though is it's modding potential and as shown by brilliant titles such as Counter-Strike, Day of Defeat, Team Fortress Classic, there is no question as to why more mods exist for Half-Life than any other game. If you havn't given this game a whirl and one of it's many mods you are definitely missing out!

Hello to all those following our progress and apologies for our long silence concerning the project. It's still alive, but we had some problems getting what we truly wanted on the HL1 engine and we're now exploring the possibility of using the HL2 Source engine to provide us better enviroment with more complex maps and models.
I've uploaded an image from new WIP stormtrooper to show were still going on

Do halflife mods work with half life source? I accidently bought half life source not the original half life, and I'm wondering if the mods will work on the source version.
BEST GAME EVER. If you want a flawless modern game, this is the closest thing you can find.
Okay, for the people who don't know how to install mods...
Steam:
Extract the mod's folder to your Steam\steamapps\yourusername\half-life folder. For example, if you were installing Afraid of Monsters: Director's Cut, you would extract the AoMDC folder to Steam\steamapps\yourusername\half-life so you ended up with something that looks like this:

For WON, you need to install the mod folder to Sierra\Half-Life folder, and then click "Custom Game" on the main menu. It's been a while since I installed WON, since it's outdated. Anyway, a few seconds of searching will yield you results, or just intelligent experimentation. IE, don't install mods to your desktop and expect them to somehow work.
