With the largest fanbase of any game ever released and well over 50 awards to it's name, Half-Life by Valve Software is undoubtably one of the greatest games ever. Half-Life's great assets though is it's modding potential and as shown by brilliant titles such as Counter-Strike, Day of Defeat, Team Fortress Classic, there is no question as to why more mods exist for Half-Life than any other game. If you havn't given this game a whirl and one of it's many mods you are definitely missing out!

HL1 still mesmerizes me after all of these years and playthroughts. So i can easily say that it's the best game there is. I think that its very rare for a game to feel so interactive even novadays, if you know what i mean. In the firstlevels you can "freely" tease professors and security personnel and theil say something funny to you, or over cook their meals in a micro. Somehow the athmosphere is great even in a game this old. Its legendary. I dont think this game will be forgotten. At least i wont forget it. And how great is the fact that this game has spawned the greatest online shooters too , u know the Counter-Strike.
In my opinion half life will always be one of the best games ever made. I hope it's never for gotten.
HL1 is exactly what Warren Spector once said about it: "The best game on rails ever made".

Its so sad this game is almost dead. I like it more than Half-Life 2 aswell. Few people are making mods for it.... :'(
