Half-Life: Source is a digitally remastered version of the critically acclaimed and best selling PC game, enhanced via Source technology.
It is a straight port, lacks any new content or the Blue Shift High Definition pack. Includes vertex and pixel shaders for more realistic water effects, as well as Half-Life 2's realistic physics engine and all other goodies and improvements introduced by Source engine.

I just installed steam a cople months ago and I played all half-life 2 games on orange box on my xbox 360, I wanted to play half-life 1 but Some people told me that Half-life source has better graphics water effects and skybox. I am running on windows vista 64 bit and I bought half-life source on steam (it was the first game I bought) I really wanted to play so I clicked "play" lol. it was loading and it had an error saying "hl2.exe has stopped working" and it allways does that. I thought there was something wrong with my computer and couldn't run source games because I can run Half-life 1 normally but not source, but yesterday I downloaded "Counter-Strike Source" But it ran normally on my windows vista 64 bit. I downloaded Half-life source nonsteam but it still had the error. If somebody could help me to run it it would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, all you have to do is rename the "half life source" folder in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\*login name here*\
That should fix it.
