Winner of over 50 Game of the Year awards, Half-Life set new standards for action games when it was released in 1998.

Half-Life: Source is a digitally remastered version of the critically acclaimed and best selling PC game, enhanced via Source technology.

It is a straight port, lacks any new content or the Blue Shift High Definition pack. Includes vertex and pixel shaders for more realistic water effects, as well as Half-Life 2's realistic physics engine and all other goodies and improvements introduced by Source engine.

About Half-Life: Source with 0 comments by IpadGamer34 on May 16th, 2014

Well after searching for the HD Pack for Half-Life Source, I finally found it. The name is High Definition Source Project and they are porting the HD Pack for HL:S.

This adds the HD models and view models and much more to Half Life: Source like the one on the original version that has death animations. Have fun!

While this isn't a good port, I feel disappointed that this game didn't get any mods that weren't HD related.

Then your not a true gamer for preferring a mod over the actual thing, HLS has more missions and it's more original, i assume you like games only for the graphics then?

Half Life Source is much better. The original models, textures and maps are the best ones. I don't want to play a stupid remake. The original is better.

Half-Life: Source was a poor half assed port! Black Mesa is better than Half-Life: Source, your argument is invalid, good day and shut up!

You didn't know how Half Life evolved so you shut up and Half Life 1997 is the ORIGINAL than Black Mesa. Black Mesa is a project and it doesn't have Xen yet! DO you read the description of Black Mesa? Go to Steam and wait for Xen to come to Black Mesa!

Black Mesa: Source is the remake of Half-Life: Source duh!

Half-Life: Source is a trip down memory lane and remains faithful to the original game as a whole. It doesn't matter if HLS is a bad port, at least it remained faithful to Half-Life as a whole. Unlike Black Mesa, which is still a good game, I just barely thought of it as a Half-Life remake as it is.

You really are a fan of the original Half-Life? Much? You want play it with better graphics? awwww, sorry, but this isn't your game. This only is lazy port made in 2004 with the original bugs of the normal Half-Life and a lot of new ones, also the graphics no are better and only adds a few graphic effects for look more cool (Say hi Halo Anniversary) This "port" only is cool for the content in Gmod and laugh with the stupids bugs and the physics, the game solo is boring and craps totally the original…
