Today, let's take a look at some FX.
Particle system (based on HL1 Battlegrounds mod particle system) has been implemented. In the video we can see current test version of hit-impact blood splash for both humans and aliens.
In future we will use this particle system to replace almost every 2D sprite used for FX. There will be particle based fire, explosions, smoke, water, sparks, teleport effects etc.
Since large number of particles can overkill older (and I mean really, really old) CPUs, there will be three options, allowing the player to set quality of these particle effects:
