Or having the short, lightweight commando SG552 for short-range attacks in one slot and the 550-1 Sniper in the 2nd for long-range attacks :D

NPC's also do take full use of all the various weapon profiles and trojanuch have that whole area fully covered.
So, with all of this fully implemented you might register that your comrade carries an AK-74 like yourself. But standing up close you will actually be able to identify if his rifle looks cleaner or more modernized when comparing to your own.

Some modernized weapon profiles may have certain upgrades pre-installed as they were produced with these benefits from the various weapon indutries.

A small example of a modernized weapon profile tweak could be that the weapon has iron sights with illuminated dots added for optimized night time aim.

I just found out about Misery 2.0 a week or two ago and I played the original a year ago because of OCedMyToaster, I can't wait until it's fully released, it makes me want to play the earlier version all over again!

How about attachments like scopes, can they be attached to any version, that is to Standart, Neglected and Commando or no?

Reply Good karma Bad karma+2 votes

Yes. Well, some profiles may be in need of a scope mount upgrade while others already have it. Some worn profiles may not accept certain attachments.
The 552 Commando has the Close Combat sight permanently attached

Two questions regarding the 552 Commando, the FAR-15 and their combat sights:

Are the combat sights still useless in the darkness, and is the 552's sight skewed?

I wanted to love the 552 Commando (As well as the FAR-15) but the fact that the combat sights were just textured on doesn't allow you to see the reticle in the darkness, so I couldn't. The 552's combat sight was also skewed upward, so you had to use the top of the ring to hit.

Thank you.

A shame no one knows.. I'd hate to see that sexy SG552 and FAR-15 go unused.. yet again, because they're pure sexy, but impractical. I'm hoping to receive at least some sort of comfirmation whether they're useless or not.

Hate to be negative, but what's up with the lower receiver on the Neglected, Modern and Sniper versions? Looks like the magazine is clipping through, or the texture creator decided to make it look transparent. From handling the real thing it just looks really wrong and take away from immersion :/ Otherwise great work, it's my favourite RS rifle :)

Great stuff. I was wondering, is there an instance where different versions of the same weapon will use different ammo by default? for example, an old FAL to use 7.62, whereas the modern using 5.56?

good idea actually, the sig 556 that chambers 5.56x45 looks exactly the same externally as the new on that chambers 7.62x39. the magazine is the same size and the only noticeable difference is the barrel is slightly larger in diameter.. Just worked on a couple last week actually. very interesting firearms ;) but as far as the FAL there is a good bit of difference, the 7.62x51 requires a larger magazine, therefore a larger magazine well in the receiver of the firearm, so there is a good bit of model difference in terms of external cosmetics compared to the 5.56x45. As far as the current models above, I say great work to the MISERY team, very well done. Being a gunsmith makes if tedious to play "realism" mods, but fortunately its not that way with MISERY!

Amazing work guys. I can only imagine how difficult it was to implement all these gun profiles into the game. And to have npc's not only carry them, but take advantage of them is really cool. I like that you have adjusted the stats and properties as well for each unique profile. Thanks for all your hard work.

Please revise the weapon upgrades. It's pretty pointless getting a new weapon when almost every assault rifle can be turned into a beast by selecting upgrades and whatnot, it completely negates the fun in finding a very good weapon. The way I see it each gun should have a maximum of 3 or 4 upgrades that come with disadvantages as well. That I see as true customization rather than simple "level up" unlocks.

Have you fixed the wrong reload lever or is the image suggesting this? I always laughed my *** off in vanilla Stalker games if my character reloaded the SIG from the "LEFT" side (lever is on the right side on the real rifle).

In Vanilla it makes sense to reload from the left side since the lever is on the left side.

It really doesn't make sense if the real versions of those weapons have it on the right side. Try googling a few of them.

It does make sense. The reload lever (and the ejection port) is on the right side on the SIG-550 as this way the hot shells are not ejected into your face but away from you. This is unless you are using a SIG-550 modified for left-handed people. There the reload lever and the ejection port are really on the left side.

Description

Here's an example of what the "New Ordnance" submod does to the arsenal of MISERY 2.0.

It brings an incredible amount of diversity to most vanilla weapons but also some of those that were added to MISERY 1.1.

As portrayed here a SIG-550 is no longer just a SIG-550.
Now this weapon can be found in a neglected, modern, standard and customized profile.

Each profile having its own unique characteristics and attributes.
Especially the sniper profile which is practically a whole new weapon that puts it in the sniper rifle category.

Weapon profiles vary in weight, trading value, availability, reliability, upgrade schematics etc.

'New' guns degrade slower but have higher chance of jamming if they get low condition.

'Worn' guns degrade faster but will not jam that much despite low condition as mechanical parts are adjusted to work with each other.

Old, worn, rusty and neglected profiles even have their own benefits as with economy being the most significant as they are up to 50% cheaper than standard issue versions. They are also far cheaper to maintain.

Watch the New Ordnance trailer here:
Moddb.com

'New Ordnance' (with _xXxTWiST3DxXx_ as original author) has ceased development as a standalone mod. But the MISERY dev team has brought it to life - and with the release of MISERY 2.0 you will have the full fleshed version of "New Ordnance" featured.
