If it's capable of an under barrel grenade launcher it can also sport a shotgun as a mod, although it might take a funky and not so realistic approach to it.

The problem with such an addon is the firing in itself, it's possible that you could trick the engine but it would be something hideous and probably unstable.
Although I do not think making one would be easy or possible with current tools, you can't say it's impossible unless all possibilities have been tried and since that's uncertain you can't affirm something can't be done(although I would love some counter-arguments to that) .

How about making a script in which underbarrel shotgun would be considered (or put in) as a grenade launcher class, but in the moment of firing the round you could replace grenade round with buckshot one which would also act like one (I mean change of trajectory, damage, weight of round etc.)
Just an idea inspired by one of old Operation Flashpoint scripts

This technique has been tried in many ways, also by me. The way Xray handles under-barrel attachments like the GL is like this:

The projectile is bound to a "class", which depicts what params it needs to have to be usable in game. Creating it a shotgun will conflict with the class. Now you think, well, why not change the class! 1, we don't have access to the engine for that, 2, we can't for as far as I know attach a shotgun classed weapon (primary) to another primary classed weapon such as the VAL / AK / L300 classes.

Annoying, I know, but I hope someone will eventually find a solution

Isn't there a way to make a grenade that behaves like a shotgun shell and bound it to a specific launcher?

[TZP]LoNer1 May 29 2013, 6:50pm replied:

No, because "grenade's" don't actually exist in CoP, I mean, propelled ones. They're fake objects. It's quite difficult to explain, especially at almost 1 A.M, but it comes down to like I previously said with the class system. We'd need engine access to mod our own class in :/

The grenade's are a "collision" item where as the shotgun shells are just bullets without the need for a fake-trajectory item.

Please revise the weapon upgrades. It's pretty pointless getting a new weapon when almost every assault rifle can be turned into a beast by selecting upgrades and whatnot, it completely negates the fun in finding a very good weapon. The way I see it each gun should have a maximum of 3 or 4 upgrades that come with disadvantages as well. That I see as true customization rather than simple "level up" unlocks.

It does make sense. The reload lever (and the ejection port) is on the right side on the SIG-550 as this way the hot shells are not ejected into your face but away from you. This is unless you are using a SIG-550 modified for left-handed people. There the reload lever and the ejection port are really on the left side.

You missed the point.
The recon class should not use the SIG-550-1 Sniper, it will jam regularly and degrade fast as it's not a class of weapon he's proficient with.
The only weapon in the group that's adequate for the recon class is the Comando.
The SIG-550-1 Sniper is meant for........the sniper class, as it's the only class that is proficient in the use of such weapons.
The other four profiles are meant to be used with the Assault class.

The class/profession system exist in Misery for a reason, and it enforces limitations based on the choice.

If you are using whatever you want to with whatever class chosen, you are neither being efficient gamewise, nor are you role playing the chosen class.
It's "like playing pool on a pinball table", it's possible but it's not meant to be played like that.

But the glory of STALKER is that you're going to use whatever you want, when you want. The game isn't going to punish you for not using the weapons certain classes aren't specialized in, the mod is going to benefit you for using the ones you are. There are no limitations.

Did you read what i wrote?
I never said you couldn't, i said you shouldn't, and the mod WILL very much punish you.
If you care or not about the punishment, that's another story altogether.

If frequent jams and accelerated degradation on a top tier weapon that will undoubtedly cost "an arm and a leg" to repair, in a world where even a bottle of water is expensive, is not enough of a punishment for using a weapon the class is not proficient with, then hey, more power to you!

They are correct. The SIG-55X are all based on the same weapon just with some modifications like shorter folding stock, shorter barrel or scope. They all handle the same except their weight does vary somewhat and the movability is increased with the commando (shorter length especially if stock is folded when it turns into an much more powerful SMG). In Swiss army they are used for narrow space fighting units where a 1m long rifle would be a hindrance.

By the way the SIG-550 can be used as sniper up to 500m if you plug a Scope on it.

C-Savage May 28 2013, 10:36pm replied:

exactly my point.. its all based off of the same weapon system for a reason, someone who is familiar with the basic sig platform is proficient with the rest. the sig 550-1 is meant for....... anyone who is familiar with the 550 platform that wants a tighter shot group. so a heavier and longer barrel and a PRS still keep all the same functions of the weapon while maintaining reliability and service life. what makes it less reliable? I have fixed, fired, and customized more sig 55x rifles then most of you have seen (that goes for just about any firearm you can name). So when I say your posting an ignorant comment about a firearm, chances are your posting an ignorant comment about a firearm... so now that were done roasting Resev... lets move on to the next pic ;) hope thats well enough played for you :)

Description

Here's an example of what the "New Ordnance" submod does to the arsenal of MISERY 2.0.

It brings an incredible amount of diversity to most vanilla weapons but also some of those that were added to MISERY 1.1.

As portrayed here a SIG-550 is no longer just a SIG-550.
Now this weapon can be found in a neglected, modern, standard and customized profile.

Each profile having its own unique characteristics and attributes.
Especially the sniper profile which is practically a whole new weapon that puts it in the sniper rifle category.

Weapon profiles vary in weight, trading value, availability, reliability, upgrade schematics etc.

'New' guns degrade slower but have higher chance of jamming if they get low condition.

'Worn' guns degrade faster but will not jam that much despite low condition as mechanical parts are adjusted to work with each other.

Old, worn, rusty and neglected profiles even have their own benefits as with economy being the most significant as they are up to 50% cheaper than standard issue versions. They are also far cheaper to maintain.

Watch the New Ordnance trailer here:
Moddb.com

'New Ordnance' (with _xXxTWiST3DxXx_ as original author) has ceased development as a standalone mod. But the MISERY dev team has brought it to life - and with the release of MISERY 2.0 you will have the full fleshed version of "New Ordnance" featured.
