I'm a student in IT Carlow, Ireland studying computer systems.
I play a lot of games and I'll be tossing my abominations onto moddb eventually, but for now I gotta get better at coding.
I certainly see Misery as a vast improvement on CoP, but as someone who thought CoP was crap in comparison to SoC, I don't see how much you can actually change. The landscape remains uninteresting, even with all the touch ups you can add to it.
Your technical accomplishments are amazing, but CoP itself is still a bare and empty game compared to SoC.
E6600 + GTX460, base clock
Slowdown only at that yellow tram scene and 3 crashes in total over the entire play through.
It is astounding that the game is this stable without massive amounts of beta testing. Most AAA games on mature engines with millions of beta testers crash more than that.
I think ValveTime feel they can't call themselves critics unless they criticise. On occasion, something comes out that requires no criticism. This is one of those times.
This is also extremely important in a competitive game with very fast moving players. Should be aiming for the performance of Counter Strike, not Crysis.
That's exactly it, but my point stands. Shaking your head in battle is one thing, doing loop-de-loops is another.
Is there a way to turn off or reverse whatever changes you made to head bobbing?
It gets kind of hard to focus on what you're doing in firefights when your character is literally spinning full 360 degrees every few seconds. I was lining up a shot on a bandit, just about to pull the trigger and then my character, on his own, turned around and faced the other way, then back again. By then the bandit was aiming back at me.
I love what you've done with everything else, but this is getting beyond annoying.
Morrowind with all expansions is very cheap these days. I paid €8 for the whole lot. Slightly more than a McDonalds meal in Ireland. There's really no excuse to use illegitimate copies.
Seems a lot of people can play the demo fine... I opened it, created an account, logged in and it's not giving an option to demo... I get 'pay $15' or 'cancel'.
Need to pinch the lips in a bit more, otherwise she just looks mumpsy.
There will obviously be the option to package the files up and distribute them as you like. That's common sense.
I wonder what effect Steam Workshop would have on Desura's community, though... You can't really beat direct mod integration built by the game's own developers.
Yes, Lord Vivec!
Nonsense. For the last time, you are not a bra.
I would buy this story.
Yeah. All it really needs is a few strands hanging over the map / blade edges.
Bought pocket ed for €0.10
I agree legally and contractually that Mojang shot themselves in the foot with that line in the license agreement. Unfortunately for them, law is law. I don't mind paying the extra (even as an alpha buyer) as Mojang never intended to make a pocket version when that license agreement was written, but for those who do want the android / xbox360 version free... legally they're in the right to ask for it.
Oh E.Y.E., I'll never forget you or your messages...
"You gain Brouzoufs" is seared into my eyesockets.
Upvoted for jumping in on their karma on the sly. Good work.
Same here. Bought a few nice ones in the Steam Summer Sale, got Skyrim, but everything else was Humble Humble Humble!
ModDB has decided to troll you.
These are scarier than dragons. Hell, the spheres are scarier than dragons.
Just ignore IGN reviews (who need to drop 0/10 somewhere if they want to make their paid for 10/10s stand out).
Otherwise, just remember. Over a million sales for what is in effect a java browser game. I don't think that's EVER been done before. EVER.
But seriously, after 1.0 will you guys start on server software in C or something less... Java? Not the greatest language for a game this big xD
It's ok. Notch paid for his review in advance. It's cool.
Only the prestige model.
Finished a run through Battlefield 3 campaign on High.
5 year old mid range PC.
I've never quite understood how people can have more than 10 tabs open in a browser at the same time, let alone a hundred xD
How heavy do minecraft servers get? :O A few of us in college are planning on setting up our own server and were discussing our options, eventually leaning towards a VPS rather than a specific minecraft host.
Could you give a few pointers on a decent starter server for ~12 regular players?
This doesn't look very critical to me...
I think the problem he's trying to point out is the effect this has on the design of the game. FtP games generally provide very little sense of achievement if you don't purchase in game content.
Think of it like playing poker but being restricted to cards of the number 2 - 5, and not ever being allowed any higher cards until you pay.
The game is technically still winnable, but in no way is it as interesting or enjoyable, and you'll start to hate it after the second time a paying player beats your 4 of a kind with a straight or royal flush, a hand that is impossible for you to ever get.
It's the same crap as pulling game content for use as DLC, but rather than an after thought, it IS the game design.
Also most of these FtP games are marketed at young American children. In other words people with access to a credit card and no concept of the value of money. It's a dangerous scam being pushed as a valid business model.
Any ideas on pricing yet? Poor students must budget even the indies they buy and HIB cleared me out xD
Dear god the voices are awful in the video... Not gonna judge it based on that, though xD Can't wait to finish DLing.
Are there any blocks it can't burn through?
