It's 10 pm. In 10.5 hours, we will leave for Arlanda Airport. Soon thereafter, we will fly to Las Vegas!

The last few weeks have been incredibly stressful and emotional in many ways, and I feel so relieved to finally have a finished version of Minecraft to release to the world on Friday. But that doesn't mean we'll stop working on Minecraft! We'll keep adding to the game just as we have so far, and we have many exciting plans for the next year.. some of these will be announced fairly soon.

One thing that kind of fell between chairs is the mod support.. Sorry about that, I take full responsibility for letting that get forgotten about. But when it comes to the new launcher, it got folded into a new exciting project I won't talk about yet.

But back to Minecon! For me personally, it's going to be three full days of chaos and fans, which will probably leave me extremely tired. Then there's a big party with a huge celebrity act playing. And then I get to relax. I plan on playing a LOT of games this winter.. Battlefield 3, Saints Row The Third, Diablo 3, Skyward Sword, and biggest of all, Skyrim.

Skyrim, SkyrimSkyrim Skyrim Skyrim SkyrimSkyrimSkyrim. Skyrim.

When you compare the milking of Halo to CoD than Halo looks like an indie in comparison.
Not to mention, at least Halo has a decent story.

And each one ends with: AMERICCAAA TO THE RESCUE!

You know, I agree with you. I like call of duty don't get me wrong, but it has been drilled into the ground. I've also noticed a difference in the qualities of the games. Probably because the original makers, Infinity Ward, actually care about their product.

"Finished version of Minecraft to release" What the hell?
A lot of people say this game shouldn't be released as there is a lot of bugs and many things still not ready.
Although I agree with this, it's not like Notch will listen to you. Ever since we made him a millionaire that ****** doesn't give a **** about Minecraft. Every request we give him he warps into something stupid.
"You want villagers? Fine, I'll give you ******* villagers, but I'll make them look like squidward's retarded cousin."
"You want a new realm? Fine, here's The End. It also comes with the stupidest ******* ending in the history of existence, being nonsensical, pretentious, and trying to add a plot to a plotless game."
"YOU want a new scary mob? Fine, here's the Enderman! He's scary because he's black, has piercing white eyes, and stares at you when you look at him! Oh wait, no he ******* doesn't. Now he has green/red eyes and is mostly grey, and he drops his jaw and steam comes out his ears like a ******* cartoon!"
Seriously, it's like Notch wants us to stop making requests or something. Even when he gets off his lazy-*** and actually makes something, he ***** it up and then fills it with bugs and unfinished ****. Then he procrastinates with every update, saying "Oh yeah, I'll finish that in 1.1." Then here comes 1.1 and he says "Okay, it'll be 1.2".

He yields so little accomplishments for so much time, and instead decides to work on Scrolls, a game that will undoubtedly bring in 100 copies sold at most, and all of those will just be die-hard fanboys.
And when we turn to the much more loyal Jeb, he goes off and works on Cobalt, which will likely sell even less then ******* Scrolls.
I vote we hand over official updates to the community. We'll add a UI and Make the mods universally compatible. Some mods will be part of official updates, and we can just download the others. That's the only ******* way.
And I know all of that's been said before, but why not bring up the matter at Minecon?
Oh wait, nobody will bring it up because the only people who are going to Minecon are die-hard fanboys who have a raging boner for Notch and undoubtedly will just bitch at me for this opinion.
Even if they will give life to the villagers they will just add simple trading system and then Notch will say "Okay, lunch break for the rest of the Month!" and go spend his money on vacations and hookers.

TL;DR Notch is lazy and modders should take over.

completely disagree with nearly everything said. we paid for an alpha, we got an alpha, and we got updates for free as a plus. RC2 now is the best version of Minecraft there has been so far imo. mods are nice, but do not fall in line with the spirit of Minecraft.

the pre releases are going to be more frequent, with more features added after release. but this is beside the point. I paid ~£5 for Minecraft. I'd happily have spent £15 for it as it was, and that was before ladders and doors and redstone even existed.

I agree with the Minecon part!
However, most of your argumentation is vague, for example when you say he converts all ideas with his own interpretation. You can't just say "do it!" and expect a developer to do so, just because you spent your money on his game. It's still Notch's project and he decides what will be used. Modders add custom wishes anyway, and not all people will always like an idea. Apart from that, using an idea from someone will give him a piece of the copyright, I think that's why developers never implement things exactly like some fan told them. Anyway, when you don't like a game, don't buy it! Simple ^^ You won't find much support in a fanboy-based community, so maybe this wasn't the best place to put it?

Downrating incoming!!

You know, I played a mod recently that made the world generate a wasteland like in Fallout. I think that would be a cool addition to minecraft to select as a world type. It could generate bunkers and burned houses and that kind of thing. Might work for a normal world too. Give it some more atmosphere of you not being the only one, but you're the only one still alive.
