G'day everyone!
Today I am going to give you a quick run through on how to access the Steam network for multiplayer games!
Step 1: Pretty obvious, go into the mods section of the launcher
Step 2: Select HW2 classic mods
Step 3: Select the mod you want to play multiplayer games with
Step 4: Add "-mpbeta" to the command line section and launch the game!
We will no longer be making any released for Homeworld 2, or Homeworld 2 Classic (well, maybe some bug fixes on HW2C if the need arises), so expect further updates to start appearing at the new mod page. Click on the picture below and follow!

What about the ppl who have he GOG version? We can't access the workshop obviously. There should be a seperate DL anyways since the game is now also available on GOG, with the same updates, so we are also on version 2.1 for HW2C. Which means that we GOG users can't access the revisioned version you made for steam/2.0/now 2.1 which fixes the recent patch issues.

I'm running this awesome mod with my steam install of HW2. Launches and playable but no sound. any ideas?
I'm trying to play on HW2 classic for the remastered pack, but every time I start up the mod, I'll get halfway through loading and the game will crash. I'm running on Windows 10, does anyone know a fix? I've attempted the -nopbuffer commandline already.
well it appears it crashes on win 10 home can some one make a fix or something?

why player can build 100 ships for every class ? is't that a little weird ? and what about put fighters in squadrons ?
Really fun for a while but...the ai eventually makes the game no fun only romulan race on enemy side seem to ever build anything but rarely attacks you. All you have to do is build a massive fleet which almost never gets attacked and you win.
I dont expect the remaster version to be that much better.
The lack of cool new explosions and damage textures just sorta make it boring to watch after a while for me.
All this time and no new vids? Rather disappointed no wonder I stopped playing this months ago. Progress is too slow to hold my interest evne though not their fault I just dont feel this is a good enough engine for a star trek mod way too many limitations.
You're looking at the wrong mod... We're working on the Remastered version now
Also, the Steam version of Release Gamma has AI fixes
