About:
Old Republic at War, a somewhat canon old republic mod. By no means designed to be accurate, by all means designed to my liking. I like to think I have high quality standards and I always try to improve the mod in all ways, graphical, gameplay related or otherwise.

Constructive critisism is appreciated and taken into consideration, though the final decision remains mine. No unit requests, I put a lot of effort into this project and try to do the best I can. I have very clear views on what I do and don't want in the mod, and don't like people trying to meddle with the direction in which the mod is going. I reserve the right to write back an angry response or flat out ignore you.

Warning: Mod author is known to have a very aggressive reaction to bullshit, please keep your bullshit level within acceptable terms at all times during the ride.

Occasionally I work on my other project, EAW-Re ( Moddb.com )

NOTE: From now on all comments that are in any way shape or form similar to these:

"Why does the file say ORAW.rar?"
"What do I do to install this?"
"My shortcut doesn't work"
"Hey I've got (insert random issue)"

Will be promptly deleted. All answers can be found by looking in the comment section, or reading the read-me.

If you enjoy what I'm creating and want to support me in making my mods, a great way to do so is to send me a tip! Tips help to keep me modding when otherwise I would have to spend my time working "real" jobs leaving me unable to do the work I love, which is modding. Paypal.com

Alright I've been putting off this Moddification for so long that at this point I'm not even sure if I'll ever finish it in a state that I'd be comfortable in releasing it. Moddification with a capital "M" since I have worked on it for so inmensely long, not just what you get to play, but especially what you will not get to play, all the cut content, constantly updated graphics and fully replaced or removed units, heroes and other content. Which makes we wonder why I still keep it on my harddrive instead of just releasing it, since it is mostly play ready. I'd say I'm sorry for focussing on my Re mod, which I honestly believe to be the more finished, higher quality and play-ready mod at this very moment, instead of finishing this, but I work on what I enjoy, and I don't think that that warrants an apology.

As of this moment, I am rewriting the (space) unit descriptions to match their updated stats (shield points, weapons, ect.). After this, I will try to fix some minor problems like a ships weapons not firing, sound files that are mixed, or perhaps that I have wanted to replace for a while but haven't done it yet.

I simpely do not know if I will ever find the motivation to finish this project. I have had a lot of fun working on it over the years. There's bad things and there's good things, the creative side of modelling paired with the pain of then having to UV your creation and making a texture for it. Writing code for a your new ship, and then see it not spawn any of its fighters ingame. And then finally seeing it work after a long evening of trying to find that one bug that was one missing line of code, that satisfaction is a great feeling.

So with that out of the way, this mod releases tomorrow.

Do not expect fully functional ground combat. Do not expect fully completed galactic conquest. Do not ask or complain or knock or my door for technical support. Those of you who've been following this for a while know what is and isn't done since I'm very transparent at what is or isn't in the media (both pictures and video).

I will most likely provide atleast 1 patch to the most blatant errors you can find, which I'd like you all to put in the downloads comments, if at all possible, in a constructive manner. Space combat is pretty much entirely finished. Thanks to EmperorNiko, who is sadly unable to mod now, ground combat exists and is mostly *playable*. Thanks to Adamsmith, a few new galactic conquest maps exist including Rakata, which doesn't have a space map yet since I haven't finished the starforge map. What is finished now or in the next day is what you get.

I will see you people tomorrow.
Jeroen

I use Steam so there is no "foe" folder how u named it, its just a "corruption" folder in there. When I start the autorun in it (not this mod), it only opens the normal EaW. So maybe its because of this but now my question...
I created a "Mods" folder in this "corruption" folder (in the EaW folder in the Steamapps folder etc etc) but when I open the Autorun of the Mod, it only says "the path does not exist" (hope u can translate it like this, I am German and it says there "Dateienpfad ist nicht vorhanden" just in case you speak German). Is there some trick or anything? Thank you already :)

Hey there Jeroenimo,

just a quick question: is the starforgemodel / map in the latest (final but as you stated unfinished) release?

thx in advance

Lyran

edit: nvm. read through your description on the front page. Sadly it is not included. But hey if a "dead" mod gets updates from time to time, who knows perhaps i will see the day when you release it anyway ;-).

Nice stuff you've got here. I can't believe I've never noticed this mod!
It seems that many of the models are from the KOTOR games, but maybe you could use some from SWTOR? It does have many ships and classes that never appeared in KOTOR (and probably better quality?), and the Eternal Empire seems like a promising faction if you ever got the motivation to dig into this era more.

I'm sure you've probably looked into SWTOR, but hey, it never hurts to leave my two cents ;)

I have been trying to fix out a problem for hours now. Before anything, I want to say : yes I have read the read me, yes I've been reading the whole comments, and yes I even googled.

My problem is : the mod's not here. I mean, not for my computer. The shortcut doesn't launch FOC, but the original EAW game, even there the game is the original one.

My game's on steam, yet I tried what "FooFlinger" said, it didn't work. I tried in every folder, it didn't work neither. I tried to launch FOC from Steam itself (we never know), it didn't work.

As said, it looks like : Steam > steamapps > common > Star Wars Empire At War > corruption > mods (I created that as said in the read me) > ORAW (that I brought from Winrar). It might be a good thing to know : I have never used any mod for EAW nor FOC, so my folders never lived any change before this "mod" folder I created.

I know the creator can't answer every dumb like me who never goes further than downloading a game, I'd understand if he would simply delete my comment without answering, but this mod looks awesome, I saw some videos and it made me wishing to test it so hard. Even if it's not "finished", it is still awesome and I know that I will really enjoy my time on this mod.

Thanks for at least taking time to read my comment :)

I found out what the problem is, but not how to solve it.

When I launch "swfoc.exe" from the folders, it launchs the original EAW, not FOC. It doesn't come from the mod, but from my swfoc.exe . I tried to edit the shortcut, even swfoc.exe itself, yet I can't do anything. So I don't understand why it's doing this, but if anyone can help me, I would really appreciate it, cause I really want to test out this ORAW mod.

Right I did something. I deleted every folders in the "data" folder from FOC and replaced them by all the "data" folders from ORAW. The game can actually be launched, but many things are missing. Ships name, ships description, maps name, textures, invisible ships, etc... So, I guess I should be happy with that, but I'm still looking for a solution that would make my game playable properly.

Thanks for reading :)

Wow, someone who tries first before asking. That doesn't happen often. Try this: Moddb.com

It was written for my EAWRe mod, but it'll work with ORAW as well.

Thanks for the help, saddly I'm looking for this "Star Wars Forces of Corruption" folder you're talking of, and I didn't find anything. I tried to simplify with only "Corruption" or "Star Wars", but all I found is a folder containing my saved games. And as my swfoc.exe is launching EAW for a reason I ignore, I don't know where I should edit my shortcut even if the ORAW folder is in the "Star Wars Empire At War" folder in "Steam". Here are screens that could be proven useful if you wish to help me further.

I know I am asking much, but what I did to successfully launch the game makes it unplayable, a Republic ship has a bugged move speed and is unkillable as he travels the map in 1 second :O. But from what I saw, I'd like to say you did a reaaaaally great job! The animation for the batteries is... simply awesome.

Thanks for reading! :)

Congratulations on a successful release G :) Good: There are some excellent things about this mod that really make it stand out. Most notably, the graphics department has been totally overhauled and I love the result. The moving turrets are stunning to watch, particularly on the larger ships. Also, the AI is, um, a nice challenge!!! (It comfortably defeated me on "Easy", which is certainly not something that happens in any other mod I've played!) it is very good to know that I am not going to get…
