Old Republic at War, a somewhat canon old republic mod. By no means designed to be accurate, by all means designed to my liking. I like to think I have high quality standards and I always try to improve the mod in all ways, graphical, gameplay related or otherwise.

Constructive critisism is appreciated and taken into consideration, though the final decision remains mine. No unit requests, I put a lot of effort into this project and try to do the best I can. I have very clear views on what I do and don't want in the mod, and don't like people trying to meddle with the direction in which the mod is going. I reserve the right to write back an angry response or flat out ignore you.

Warning: Mod author is known to have a very aggressive reaction to bullshit, please keep your bullshit level within acceptable terms at all times during the ride.

Occasionally I work on my other project, EAW-Re ( Moddb.com )

NOTE: From now on all comments that are in any way shape or form similar to these:

"Why does the file say ORAW.rar?"
"What do I do to install this?"
"My shortcut doesn't work"
"Hey I've got (insert random issue)"

Will be promptly deleted. All answers can be found by looking in the comment section, or reading the read-me.

If you enjoy what I'm creating and want to support me in making my mods, a great way to do so is to send me a tip! Tips help to keep me modding when otherwise I would have to spend my time working "real" jobs leaving me unable to do the work I love, which is modding. Paypal.com

Little bit of an update on what's currently happen:

As you might have noticed work has started on a functional ground combat system. This isn't going to include anything fancy, just the units, most upgrades wont work, no new voices and no in depth combat system. Currently me and EmperorNiko (who's been a huge help in setting everything up, he's done more for ground combat than I have at this point) are working on the ground units, trying to get them all to function correctly, not to even speak of balancing everything. Now that exams are done and finished moving (mostly) I hope to have a lot more time for modding, in which I'm going to try to work on ORAW more, on the side I also have some commissions that I have to finish up. I'm also not going to redo any more of the already existing models untill I get the mod released to the public in a functional state, since that's just spending time perfecting things that're already functional.

There you go, that's the bulk of it. Now back to work.

Thank you for adding ships and stuff as Modder's Resources. It really helps in the long run to create quality mods!

No problem. I often forget that the only reason I started modding was because people like Warb Null exist, who give new modders a platform, a base to work with when first starting, and that I should give back to the community, to do otherwise is to deny others that which got me started. And that I think, is highly hypocritical.

I enjoy making the mod, otherwise I wouldn't be doing it, and if you really want, there is a tip jar at the bottom of the mod description ;)

nomada always public news a short time after you show something new...
so his mod is on top and not yours... this is a dickmove

Jokes on him though, he's old news. That, and I'm higher in the search rankings, so quite frankly he can do anything he wishes, I've got him beat at his own game anyway.

With all due respect, he is not old news. If he actually updated and fully promoted his mods here instead of using this site as a link to his own site, he would constantly be in the top 5. That is not to say that all of your hard work is a joke, however, as it clearly shows through in the high quality of your mod. Thank you for sharing it with us.

It's not just that his mod isn't downloadable on moddb, it is many other things, from his own personality to what he has made Alliance into that makes it not have a place in the top 50. Especially top 5, he wont ever reach a steady spot, he just doesn't have the production value to ever achieve that.

I could go into all the reasons nomada is a sub par modder, from his rampant porting and stealing content to shouting other people down when they try to do something that looks better than what he has already created, but I really think that all those things have been said a thousand times before.

By definition of what nomada's crafted alliance into he cannot ever get a steady place in the top mods, as hard as he might try. His mod has many issues from really bad lag to repetitive lighting on maps, which might not sound bad but someone like me who really likes some variation in how the fight looks it really is a bummer. + there's the fact that pretty much all ships are copies of one another with just slightly different hardpoints and different models. That mod specifically got me to be so hellbent on all ships being so unique and different, because I know how boring it plays when everything isn't.

Where did you get all the information to accurately create all the ships?
Was there anything besides the games?

Well there's wookiepedia that I occasionally use (note occasionally) for things like ship sizes, but I mostly use my own memories from the kotor games and imagination of how I want things to be.

Stupid question, how would i use this on steam? XD

Harbinger_of_Chaos May 16 2015, 1:04am replied:

To play a mod like this on steam go to program files, steam, steam apps, common, star wars empire at war, corruption, make a folder named mods and put the ORAW folder in there and after that while in steam library right click the game and click on set launch options and type sweaw MODPATH=Mods/(mod file name) so in this case it would be sweaw MODPATH=Mods\ORAW

Losrevan May 24 2015, 7:14am replied:

Wrong, you have to type foc MODPATH=Mods\ORAW

Harbinger_of_Chaos May 24 2015, 6:23pm replied:

Not wrong, you can type MODPATH=Mods\ORAW but sweaw MODPATH=Mods\ORAW and swfoc MODPATH=Mods\ORAW works just as fine on steam for me.

You don't need to put in "sweaw". Just type MODPATH=Mods\ORAW

Zupanicarr May 20 2015, 1:33am replied:

Everything he/she listed was correct, that's how you get any mod to work on steam.
The only reason I've ever heard of that not working, and I've seen this a lot, is user error. No serious problem there, happens to everyone once in a while when first installing mods for games.
Please describe exactly how you installed the mod?

Congratulations on a successful release G :) Good: There are some excellent things about this mod that really make it stand out. Most notably, the graphics department has been totally overhauled and I love the result. The moving turrets are stunning to watch, particularly on the larger ships. Also, the AI is, um, a nice challenge!!! (It comfortably defeated me on "Easy", which is certainly not something that happens in any other mod I've played!) it is very good to know that I am not going to get…
