First of all I have no intention of spamming , but this game has so much potential for later mods in moddb i have to share it
HI! I WILL STRONGLY suggest to check out this game! A 1st pers. real time Startergy Space game with a mix of both Bridge commander and sins of a solar empire.
Maybe in the future a BSG startrek/starwars/ Babylon 5 mod would be perfect for this game

Yeah, whatever. You will have your favourite game both remastered and available in the original version again, yet still complain. Hating on Gearbox got pretty cool now, eh?

I was REALLY skeptical at first, but actually Gearbox's remake is looking pretty promising now... They have gotten a lot of the original makers of the game as well as listened to community feedback so... I'm excited! The biggest thing it will do that a mod sadly can't :( is bring Homeworld and the space RTS genre back into the mainstream, and hopefully we will see more games like it in the future. :)

Well, as much as I agree with that sentiment of a "dead" RTS genre, I am a bit hopeful with the fact that the HD Remakes might actually bring Homeworld back into the spotlight of front page gaming news (I heard about Planetside 2 first; I wasn't ever AWARE that a Planetside 1 existed right under my nose...).

And the more awareness we can spread of this great legacy of a series, the more likely that it'll garner the attention of even MORE potential modders, and perhaps even help breathe more life into existing ones.

i've been won over by the recent material they showed, which were much better than the cel shaded crap they released initially. furthermore rob cunningham gives this his approval(but then again gearbox lent them the homeworld ip for shipbreakers, so he might just be being a good business partner)...however gearbox selling pre orders for a game before it showed anything was highly suspect so my suspicions were still well warranted

I don't blame you for being skeptical, really. Especially looking at the current ocean of trash among games. How we must sift them apart carefully, until we find another gem to add to our collections.

That's how I see it, anyway.
