I know this one is still in the works and all, but damn! All the eye candy strewn about the screenshot gallery makes it almost unbearable. Almost, ;P Keep it up, I'm itchin' to have a crack at an HD Taiidani Missile Destroyer, >:D

On a side note, would it be possible to work in energy cannons as they worked in Homeworld: Cataclysm? Functionally and overall, they were actually superior to the old mass driver weapons used previously (bullets and heavy shells, basically), yet, the Hiigarans lack the better tech entirely during Homeworld 2 for reasons only the old Relic and Sierra knew.

HW2 mass drivers are far superior to Cata energy weapons, in speed and range, that is why Higs don't use them anymore(maybe?). Also this mod is not about Cataclysm, yet?...

Pcmaster Jul 19 2013, 5:27am replied:

Speed and range weren't the primary focus with the energy cannons as far as I understand. What you lost in range and projectile velocity, you compensated with increased damage, and I think they also had a small amount of auto tracking, so even capital ships could fend off small numbers of strike craft.

I think they also got a noticable increase in the average rate of fire for all applications. And the energy cannons replaced mass drivers on ALL ships. Meaning any cannon that once used bullets got energy cannons, from the smallest acoylte strike craft, all the way to the static hull defenses of the Kuun-Laan.

AH hw 2 uses hit ratios and Cata is not canon it was made by another group.

Cataclysm is definitely canon. Don't know where you got the idea that it isn't from. o_o

Well, the only major difference with involvement in Cataclysm was that Barking Dog Studios handled the stuff that Relic did for Homeworld 1 and 2, while Sierra handled their end for all 3 games. That's my understanding, anyway.

Just a stupid question ... Is the fighter squadron system from HW2 gonna be kept or replaced by the old one from HW1 with fighter by fighter production and control ?

Moleman2009 Jun 20 2013, 9:26am replied:

Squadrons? we have decided it would be best to keep it as single units instead of the squadron system, our goal is to keep the remastery as true as possible to the original HW1

I am very impressed with your work and I want to applaud you !
But I have some questions:
- I guess we can play multiplayer, right ?
- The mod out there within 3 days of the game's release languages (English (of course) but also French and German)? Left to wait longer exit French and German versions, it would be nice and would only promote your work !
- Will we have the original multiplayer maps ?
- And finally: if the mod is a huge success, would you be willing to continue working with Homeworld Cataclysm this time ?

I shared your project on my facebook page hoping to make your project the ancients fan or curious players and I am sending you all my support !

Thanks in advance for your job ! =')

About the release languages, it's something we can do, if we have community help in translating...

I'll answer what I know, but I'm not on the team, so don't quote me on this:
- Yes, you can play multiplayer, there's even a download currently available for a demo of it. Integrating the multiplayer options such as disabling research, enabling resource injections, etc. are planned.
- There are no plans for translations to other languages. It'll be up to members of the community to volunteer for translating.
- Yes, fully remastered and playable, as well as some new ones.
- Making a Homeworld Cataclysm: Remastered is possible if the mod is a success, but no promises.

complementing Forloftol:
- try our DEMO in download section - 14 ships in Skirmish
- Localization not planned. Fans can extract the mod and submit a version in the add-on section
- Our coder is engaged in his own MOD involving Cataclism universe - called BEAST EVOLUTION MOD. We are not thinking about Cataclism, because it's still too far away in time. Believe me: a MOD team is very vulnerable to real life issues. And is certainly a miracle to have put together a great designer and a great coder to resurrect and update this game ...

lol, In reguards to localization, it is a definite possability, but as was stated before, we just havnt had the time to do all of the conversions for them. The community is welcome to submit their localizations but they would have to be verified as well and we all know how unreliable google translate it :P

It is possible, it's already been done. Homeworld 1 has already got localization for us! We just have to fill in the gaps where it is missing.
