The goal of this mod is to bring back the units from the original Homeworld into the Homeworld 2 engine, with high quality texture and polycount detail. The campaign and animatics from the original game will also be included.

Well,The last days have been ... interesting:
On our MOD, we started to study how to develop the Kushan campaign. It was proposed to Moleman to join us once he is studying SP missions for his MOD. So we are all over finishing the Turanic Raiders ships and structures for M1 and M2, recovering speech files, tons and tons of codings and tweakings.
In parallel, we started moving on from SugarSync to SVN/Tortoise as a management system for the project. If we approve, which is most likely, SVN's version numbering system will be adopted. It will also help us sum up better the changes from one release to another.
We've suspended/changed the next release. We haven't stopped working on it. We need to study and establish the research trees, the research ships game-play and behavior. And the Youtube VIDEOS will be displayed at moddb too.

So how's this coming along in a general sense? It's an awesome project that I've wanted to see come to fruition for years. Thanks a lot for getting underway when no one else would. Wish I could help..
It's coming along nicely, almost all the ships are remastered, but there's still a lot of work in implementing them and gameplay tweaking. The most important thing is that this mod will surely be completed, we have a great team and won't let this project die half way like most of the others. We are even considering adding new ships when the work based on the original is complete.
Hey guys the Nose Mesh Lods are messed up for the Taiidan ionfrigate, Lods 2 and 3 have the assault frigate set up as a mesh instead of the nose section. I will be fixing it here for ya in a bit.
We know of that, i will make proper lods for it.
Question, is there any way to make the HW2 engine treat projectiles and weapons as in hw1? that is, with real ballistic and collisions instead of using a chance based hit system?
short asnwer, no.

Due to the homeworld 2 engine it is not possible.
Actually, technically it IS possible by changing all weapons (minus beam weapons) into missiles with no turn ability and a accuracy value of 100%.
A shame that they dropped that, will always prefer hw1 due to this, nonetheless awesome job with this mod :D
