The goal of this mod is to bring back the units from the original Homeworld into the Homeworld 2 engine, with high quality texture and polycount detail. The campaign and animatics from the original game will also be included.

Hi people, The HWR mod team is going to be releasing its second demo around this weekend, this demo is going to have some of the most important features of our project like:

 -Most of the basic ships from HW1 (up to the Destroyer, Including the Mothership)
-First Campaign mission
-Completely new flight maneuvers for fighters
-Most formations for fighters and corvettes
-Fuel and AI auto dock script
-Complete research tech tree
-Challenging AI
-Ship Test Duel Gamemode (for you to test individual ships in a controlled situation)
-Full multiplayer experience, with new maps and broad gamemode customization (settings for research, resource injections, injections intervals, fuel, a nice variety of unitcaps).

EDIT: Sorry people, we have had some delays because of the 1st mission crashing sometimes at the end (cutting sometime that is already working correctly can lead to bugs), we need a little more time to look out for the bugs, we encourage some patience, because we need it too.

But we got the demo out, even if it like a preliminary version, an update could be out any moment.

Are there plans to update textures on vanilla fleets as well (ie. Vaygr and HW2 era Hiigaran) I ask because there was a graphics update for these fleets that is no longer available.

Not in the plans of this mod.
You can find different graphics with the same textures in Complex, using their launcher and also in R.E.A.R.M.
But the textures are still the same.

Just to comment: the textures in HW2 are very good, some ships has their own personal texture, some technique applied there you won't find in others.

thank you a lot for this guys i started homeworld with cataclysm and then found homeworld 2 when i finally had my hand on a copy of homeworld 1 i coudlt play it at all beacsue i relaly dotn like then intereface of teh first one and the graphic are hurting my eyes but i really wish i could know the campaign :)

The soundtracks, cinematics and the voices are perfect just has they are, the is no need to touch them.
The backgrounds we are working on, we have a very talented artist that offered to do them, lets hope he has the time to help us with that, if he does, prepare to be amazed;).

this is the battle chat: for the moment, we kept HW2's chat. The speeches in HW1 comprises 5000 files. The battle chatter must be together somewhere, but we didn't have the time to deal with this yet.

It's not particularly difficult, just extremely time consuming, especial since sound FX are not labeled like speech events are.
