The goal of this mod is to bring back the units from the original Homeworld into the Homeworld 2 engine, with high quality texture and polycount detail. The campaign and animatics from the original game will also be included.

Hi people, The HWR mod team is going to be releasing its second demo around this weekend, this demo is going to have some of the most important features of our project like:

 -Most of the basic ships from HW1 (up to the Destroyer, Including the Mothership)
-First Campaign mission
-Completely new flight maneuvers for fighters
-Most formations for fighters and corvettes
-Fuel and AI auto dock script
-Complete research tech tree
-Challenging AI
-Ship Test Duel Gamemode (for you to test individual ships in a controlled situation)
-Full multiplayer experience, with new maps and broad gamemode customization (settings for research, resource injections, injections intervals, fuel, a nice variety of unitcaps).

EDIT: Sorry people, we have had some delays because of the 1st mission crashing sometimes at the end (cutting sometime that is already working correctly can lead to bugs), we need a little more time to look out for the bugs, we encourage some patience, because we need it too.

But we got the demo out, even if it like a preliminary version, an update could be out any moment.

On a side note, would it be possible to work in energy cannons as they worked in Homeworld: Cataclysm? Functionally and overall, they were actually superior to the old mass driver weapons used previously (bullets and heavy shells, basically), yet, the Hiigarans lack the better tech entirely during Homeworld 2 for reasons only the old Relic and Sierra knew.

AH hw 2 uses hit ratios and Cata is not canon it was made by another group.

Well, the only major difference with involvement in Cataclysm was that Barking Dog Studios handled the stuff that Relic did for Homeworld 1 and 2, while Sierra handled their end for all 3 games. That's my understanding, anyway.

Squadrons? we have decided it would be best to keep it as single units instead of the squadron system, our goal is to keep the remastery as true as possible to the original HW1
