Here it is, the second news letter of June 2020. Have a nice read ^^

Released or updated mods

After a long time DCI: Last Alliance for Medieval II: Total War: Kingdoms has finally been released. The beta that is. The developers have been teasing a bit around at the last days before it with plenty of little trailers. Congratulations to their first release!
You can find the download link to the beta as well as the needed requirements and installation instructions in the article here.

Staying with the Total War franchise, Total War: Rise of Mordor for Total War: Attila has been updated to the alpha version 0325 meanwhile and Last Alliance: Total War for Total War: Shogun 2 has been updated to the alpha version 016 (Leaders of Harad and the Wild Lands).

Another big release has been made for Edain Mod for Battle for Middle-earth II: Rise of the Witch King. In the last half month it has become a long list of articles which they wrote down. So you can read about the Settlements of Gondor, the new ringhero Durin, their changes following the feedback, part 1 and part 2, and new maps and related changes. The final release article can be found here.

The Blue Wizard Mod for Battle for Middle-earth got also updated, to version 0.2.1. You find the download link here and here a link to a Wide Screen Maps addon.

Blue Wizard Mod v0.2 released!

Venlesh also managed to make a release of Legends of Middle-Earth 5.0 for the steam version of Age of Mythology: The Titans. You can read about it in more detail in the article here and the download link here.

CK2: Middle Earth Project (CK2:MEP) for Crusader Kings II got a final installer uploaded which you can find here.

Activity at modding

lord_ellessar has been a bit active at Folk of Middle Earth (edain submod), Half-trolls from the Far Harad and Soldiers of Laketown have joined his ranks.

Reinforcements can also be noticed for the Woodland Realm at Age of the Ring. Seeing the elvish ballista surprised me a bit since I have never really thought about siege weapons of the Elves but it has a nice design.

At Silmarillion: Total War the house of Fingolfin got new units, Veteran Bladesmen and a bodyguard unit for the high king of the Noldor.

A lot of activity can also be noticed at the mod team of Heirs of Elendil. Strider got a new face, done by Edu Cherrypatty aka Venlesh from the Lotr mod for Age of Mythology mentioned at the top. It's always nice to see some crossgame work. Strat models and portraits for Rhudaur are the other things they worked on.

Coming to the Mount & Blade series at the end. TLD Overhaul for Mount & Blade: Warband previewed some Goblin. In the upcoming patch they are not going to be human sized anymore.

The developers of Persistent Lord of the Rings (PLotR) have moved the release date of their version 2.0 to the 4th of July, so this weekend. They write something about 3 game modes and 30 servers but have a better read here.

At the modding project Silmarillion for Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord Neirember has crafted nice things for the Noldor. They also organised a story competition for which the deadline is the 15th of July. Have a more detailed read about that here.

Tolkien in games outside the modding area

And outside of the modding area, at The Ring Roleplay Project - TRRP to be more exact, MikeTheEmperor has written a nice and short article about Ithilien, Land of the Moon, in which he also shows off plenty of screenshots. Have a look for it here.
