One of the first things you may notice in the title is that the "B" is missing from VTMB, this is not an accident. The Final Nights is an expansion to an otherwise flawless video game built upon the success of the Camarilla Edition series of mods. The "B" has been removed because this expansion can no longer bare the name Bloodlines as it is so far removed from the original game as to warrant the name change. The idea behind this expansion is, and always will be the notion of a completely new experience unlike we've seen so far. With 7 completely brand new clans, 5 new disciplines, extra quests, new NPCs, new game mechanics and new music, the features seem endless. All of this is being built upon the Camarilla Edition series incorporating such things as the blood timer system, pedestrian blood dolls, and the new combat system. Combined we feel the name Bloodlines must be removed from this game, and thus we now simply have "The Final Nights".

Finished 1.3.1 playthrough now, liked it a lot.
Some notes:

Reinforcements for Chastity is not a bad idea itself, but 1) They're in the room for private stripper dances. Which is not "out of order". Or are they so well informed and appeared only recently, waiting for the protagonist? 2) With them VV is always angry at you that you weren't quiet with this murder. Even if you take out hunters first with silent kills unnoticed and then send the second stripper to the room and kill Chastity alone. Yes you get the xp message about killing without other victims. If you do not alert hunters at first, send the stripper to them (oh my), and then try to kill Chastity - hunters always hear that and so this option also fails as quiet for VV.

Lethal fists from Claw of Vukodlak can be buggy. For no reason they can disappear after loading the save (and they already erased normal fists, so no fists at all now). Adding them with console doesn't work while the Claw is still in inventory.

I suggest to increase maximum current Scholarship check in the museum with Beckett like Wesp did - so you can get lvl4 there and then lvl5 after Giovanni from him too. Because the museum is pretty late in the game, to be with lvl2 still is really lame. Anyway I did this edit myself, that's my preference.
Same for Romero Firearms bonus would be nice, again, like Wesp did.

When I use Obfuscate I sometimes (?) get the message about Serpentis 0. No bugs, just this.

Why didn't you implement Mitnick quest about the server logs from Kamikazi Zen? You even have the script check about this tape in the mailbox. I mean this should be just email from Mitnick, no dialogues and such, so no big deal to add it.

Your changes of the derivative stat system look logical, but you killed the major purpose of Auspex - vanilla Wits bonus to hacking. Let's be honest - auras are not that helpful, especially when they cost blood, and besides I think TFN is for experienced players who again don't need auras to be awesome. And Perception bonus is, well.. Yeah, it's cool to get bonus to guns. But TFN guns are cool already, so generally you need Auspex only if your Ranged<10 and you can't handle the shaky sniper scope mode.

I expected at least a Hacking Bank Account computer in Fu Syndicate. But it seems there are none in the whole Chinatown even (?). Disappointed.

"Pump Panel - Confusion" track in the Glaze club should be the first to play, period. I only noticed it because I returned two times to get the dropped weapons.
Nice addition!

I played Baali, that was total powerhouse. It's like Malkavian plus Tremere, with low to none blood costs. Well yeah, no magic dialogue, but I had a lot of Persuasion anyway. So about the skills:
`Concordance` - I like it, it's cool looking and all the ideas of it are nice. But it almost has no purpose, because of..
`Conflagration` - yep. Costs 1 blood. Does big damage to supernatural creatures, all of them, including even the Magilla Gorilla©. That would be not so bad because it has cooldown - but during that cooldown the target is totally helpless. Because "burning". So I can hit it with weapon of choice all this time. Then again cast the skill and continue hitting. You don't even need a lot of blood for it, usually 2-3 only, if you use your attacks too of course.
`Infernal Servitor` - well if I didn't have the Obfuscate.. but oh my, I do! What a lucky night to be dead. So yeah, feeding or stealth kills, or guns are much nicer against humans, and Conflagration takes care of the supernatural stuff.
`Rest of the Wicked` - holy @#$%. It costs no blood. NO BLOOD. Praise Baal! Well yeah, doesn't work on vampire hunters, but who cares, they're just humans and not encountered very often.
`Blood of the Sinner` - I think it doesn't work on the above mentioned stripper in Sin Bin. What, not enough sin?

And I generally liked the idea about the Baali book and blending into Tremere society. But.. wouldn't they notice though? I'm not a White Wolf settings expert at all, but Tremere blood magic is very special and exclusive. So a) Any Tremere and only Tremere should be able to cast some of it b) Other Tremere should notice that what you cast is NOT their magic at all.
I "roleplayed in the head" that after the game events and the Camarilla-Strauss ending I told Strauss about my origin and since I already proved to be loyal and veeery useful to him - I make the deal with him to cover my origin from other Tremere, including his superiors.
And anyway he knows what happens to those who choose to become my enemies.

CJ,

This was a wonderful write-up and review of your experience with TFN 1.3.1, I appreciate you taking the time to post this and I'll return the favor addressing each point individually.

Reinforcements for Chastity - 1.) The hunters don't appear until Chastity does and she's not there until you activate the quest, so no problem there. 2.) To get the extra experience for being quiet you need to stealth (Obfuscate) kill each hunter and make everyone leave before fighting Chastity herself. It's difficult to do but very possible, hence the extra XP.

Fang of Vukodlak - Yes, there are some bugs with this occult item which have already been fixed for TFN 1.4. I apologize for that.

Bonuses Skills from NPC training - The problem with upping the level threshold is that your character could essentially be earning an extra 8-12 XP per dot in the upper ranges. I like the idea of getting training from an NPC but I don't want this to be an exploit of XP, hence why I kept it lower in the 1-2 dot range.

Obfuscate Serpentis message - This is working properly. I had to make this so that Setites couldn't use offensive disciplines while Obfuscated, so I had to drop their Obfuscate level to 0 temporarily which is why you get the message. I made a note about it in the discipline description. Followers of Set have been changed to Warriors of Set in TFN 1.4 and won't get the Obfuscate discipline so this will resolve itself.

We haven't touched the Kamikaze quest and it should work. Did it not work for you?

Both Auspex and Presence have been completely overhauled for TFN 1.4 with new graphics, function, utility, and sound FX. This too will be resolved in 1.4.

I should've put at least 1 computer to hack in Chinatown, my oversight.

The music in Glaze play in the order I decided fit with the overall theme of TFN. Sorry if you like the 2nd song better than the first but it's pretty easy to swap them. Go into the music folder and just rename the Glaze music, swap them and that will take care of it.

Glad you enjoyed your Baali playthrough. It's great to hear the Baali were a powerhouse because TFN 1.2 received complaints that the Baali were underpowered. We made some changes to Daimoinon so it sounds like it fixed the problem.

Blood of the Sinner should work on the stripper at the Sin Bin as she should be flagged as a ******. I'm not sure why it's not working on her, something to look into.

As far as Baali lore goes, Several community members on our forum happen to be lore experts of VtM and we talked extensively about the Baali masquerading as Tremere, before we implemented it into TFN. The Baali's blood is nearly inextinguishable from Tremere blood because the blood of Saulot runs through them both. Only level 6 or higher level in Auspex can detect that something is different and even then it could be dismissed as being part of just another Tremere house. This is why most if not all Baali masquerade as Tremere in the modern nights.

But that's what I told you - first I get rid of the peeping guys by hacking and lockpicking. Then I stealth kill hunters. Then I send away the stripper. Then I kill Chastity and get the "wiped out the team of hunters without loss of innocent life" message. Then VV is mad at me anyway. I replayed this right now from my first Vesuvius save, it's the same.

I understand about the experience, but like I said the museum with Beckett is pretty far in the game. In TFN you made the books available very early, so it's natural to want high Research faster. Therefore you want to level Scholarship faster because Persuasion is very important too. So without metagaming but with logical planning of character progression you'll almost never get museum Beckett bonus at all. See, I'm not questioning why early Bertram skill bonuses are that low - because they are indeed in the early game.

All I got was standard Schrecknet quest chain, but I'm talking about the server logs tape. See, there's this in vamputil.py :

if(container.HasItem("item_g_wireless_camera_2") and G.Gift_Email == 1 and G.Mitnick_Gift == 0):
container.RemoveItem("item_g_wireless_camera_2")
container.AddEntityToContainer("gift_reward")
G.Mitnick_Gift = 1

But there's no quest with G.Gift_Email at all! (no uses of this variable whatsoever except here) While item_g_wireless_camera_2 explicitly states that this is "Old Server Logs from the Kamikaze Zen. Mitnik really wants to get his claws into them." I get this item during "stealing part" in Kamikazi Zen.

Personally I think everything is powerhouse with Obfuscate lvl3. And of course I like it, for some reason I like clean kills almost wherever possible even without such restrictions.
By the way I ignored all your cool SWAT teams at the end almost completely again with Obfuscate. Sorry.
Oh and.. Can you SOMEHOW make that the sitting NPC's can be targeted with disciplines and stealth kills? It's driving me insane since the vanilla too. It's ridiculous. One of the obvious examples is the Tong guys in White Lotus.

Well that was an interesting lore bit, thanks. But I guess you still shouldn't cast too much Baali magic near the Tremere. Even without some kind of detection one can really become very suspicious of all those burning penthagrams. Or burning demon forms. Or maniacal laughter and Baal praising. Just sayin'.

Hi, played this mod's previous versions and like the changes I've seen so far.

However, I've found a serious bug.

I can't save Heather. I click on her for the initial conversation, then go to Dr. Malcolm to try to get his help, and when I get back... all she does is moan, and the dialog box doesn't come up... so I can't help her.

I'm playing as a female Ishtari if that helps. Any idea why this is happening? Is there anything I can do to fix it on my end?

Step 1. Your character needs to learn about how to create ghouls. Do this by talking to Mercurio or Knox.

Step 2. After learning about ghouls, tell Dr. Malcolm there is a girl (Heather) dying in the next room. At that point, you can make her your ghoul and save her.

I'm confused, actually. I'm playing as Assamite and when I choose to let Julius (thin blood) go, I get experience point, humanity gain, log update and masquerade violation. Why masquerade violation? Shouldn't I get masquerade redemption? Do I really have to kill him? o.O
I've always let him go.

This is working properly. Julius is breaking the masquerade by opening his big mouth. By letting him go, you're letting him to continue breaking the masquerade therefore you're part of the problem. It is however the humane thing to do therefore you get a humanity point.

If you kill him, you'll be protecting the masquerade by doing the inhumane thing.

I figured something. By letting Julius go, I got masquerade violation and I received a mail from Silvia Black, and I paid her to repair the damage, so I got redemption. *shrugs*
But the problem seems to be the fact as to how Julius found out secrets about Kindred society, since nobody wanted to talk to him as he is a Thin-blood.
So that remains debatable as to how he found out anything regarding Kindred society. o.o

You have a point. It's hard to know what Julius has been up too or how he knows the details of Kindred society but somehow he knows because he's telling David Hatter about it.

In this instance, we'll just have to assume he found out somehow.

I love this mod! For a while, I felt burned out on playing VtM:B until I found this gem. :D The gameplay difficulty is slightly amped up, which I appreciate, due to all of the modifications. The Camarilla Edition changes to the Blood Healing system, the fact that Haggle is almost necessary, increase in difficulty to Inspection/Seduction [the latter being virtually useless, anyway, but it forces you to "fend for yourself" which seems more realistic]... And I am in *love love love* with the fact that…
