I don't get it. Stalker is just a name. Sure one connected with a lot of fun we've all had but just a name anyway. Why would MDT need to make stalker 2? Why not just make your own FPS game? By all evidence you all could surely improve on a spiritual successor to the franchise without actually using it.

Why can't nomads be organized? Actually it seems somewhat likely for successful nomads. It would help with defense and breaking down camp to move quickly when needed. Just saying.

A little less perfect order might be nice but I don't think nomads would be particularly chaotic.

Actually took another look myself today just because I was curious. A lot of things were smoother and much improved. I honestly doubt Ill get really interested till the NPC metagame gets in but... I actually believe it honestly will eventually.

With most developers I "hope" things will go the way they are supposed to. Its taking a while but the indie stone is actually building a little faith in their work for me. I really believe it'll be there and it'll be good. Eventually. Assuming they are keeping more redundant backups these days. :p

I made it to 10 days 74b. But that was lucky. I think the most important change is stopping guys from spawning on scavenge. Mostly because weak chumps spawn and run. Then repeat... Soon you have a freakin army of them. lol Very smart change there.

medve Terraria was top in steam for a good while. 2D too. I like natural selection myself. But you can't look down on the 2D. It certainly has its place in gaming.

You can build a sense of realism in a game world that has no relation at all to true reality. All it requires is that you make a little effort to make a set of rules, natural laws, to the world that the human mind can accept then enforce them.

You could have made a magic system with a lot of restrictions and limitations. And even a risk to reward type deal. Such as magic could kill the character if pushed too far. Or you can only perform magic by collecting something challenging deep in dungeons. And you could make it so magic isn't super powerful but more of a help to improve your survival situation.

Anyways, I can see why you decided not to put in magic and I wouldn't fault you for making your own choices with your own game. I just can't say I agree with the thought process behind it as explained. That said.. Rock on. I'm still watching this game with interest and doubt I will stop any time soon!

Okay I'm getting sick of these guys too. They have a good game concept. The improvements they talk about sound great. But the actually getting of stuff done and then getting it out to us their fans? It's freakin pathetic. It will be nice if I actually get to play a more polished version of PZ some day but I think I'll make it a point to avoid any other products these guys put out. At least until I see that it's good and finished before hand. I sure wouldn't be supporting them during development. They've shown that to be a mistake.

Exciting stuff! But the fact that you put in the leveling system sort of reminds me.. That while Morrowind is one of my favorite game of all times... One of the few Ive bothered completing at all.. And I completed it several times... I was only able to do it with the help of GCD. The seamless leveling mod. I assume mods for the old game won't work with OpenMW. So, have you all considered maybe building some of the more popular core gameplay mods into the game engine itself? As options of course.

Seamless leveling is my essential mod but I'm sure there are others that people just found they couldn't play the game without in the community.

Though I understand there is the issue of where to draw the line. Who get's their essentials and who doesn't. I just felt like I had to ask. I surely don't look forward to feeling like I need to min max and fear using certain skills at the wrong time again. lol

Well if you are going nitch... I would also love a space game where ships aren't disposable. Well at least beyond the starter ship. I would love for them to be expensive as heck. Have lots of components that can be upgraded or switched with things that are scattered about at varying cost and rarity.

Im talking expensive enough that people playing for a year might have three to five nice ships. If they are very good, very dedicated, and very lucky. And not spending their earnings elsewhere. On things such as orgs, stations, blah blah. And keeping much more than that as an individual would be too costly and just unreasonable.

Too many space games have disposable ships. Or ships that will respawn with you! lol Sort of sad. How do you get invested in something like that? How do you get attached to your ship and take pride in it? And yes.. I personally like it to down right hurt if I lose a ship. Thats what I like anyways.

Just my own greedy desires? I'd love to see it as a persistent multilayer myself. By that I mean instead of trying to make the game that will support thousands all at once focus or a deep and rich universe that can support 60-200 people at once and continue running.

Doesn't matter if individual server hosting for the game has to go through you or you release it with the sale of the client... I think letting people build their own little communities where you can actually know all the people and have a real impact.. I think it would be popular. Not just with me. :p

Yes, I can. But that is choosing to put myself at a disadvantage. As the magical floating three or more feet behind and above your head sort of changes your perspective. Letting you look around objects without actually having to place those pesky eyes and that vulnerable head into a direct line of site with what you are viewing.

I would rather it just be realistic and only let you go first person. Perhaps with a vanity view that lets you see how you look but in a way that is not functional for combat.

In these sorts of games I always expect the perfectly straight lines fanning out from your character that make it easy to miss anything a little distance away.

This system is SO much better. Makes you more directly involved in hitting the target. Awesome idea and the implementation looks just as good!
