In all honestly I don't know firearms well enough to make too much of a statement about how it should be balanced.

But from pure observation it looks set up to be light for it's size. And.. It looks like it was meant to be durable and easy to maintain. Not a lot of convoluted extra crap on it. Simple.

For the time being I think I am leaning toward the Assault for my first go at 2.0. I like his staying ability and the ability to horde. And I rarely used automatic weapons in the past. Is better control and repair abilities make it seem appealing to give them a go now.

The mutants and bandits will know what hit them and die terrified!!!

The original maker of the mod can describe it better than I can.

In the end you can just use your skills and it will automatically level you up, adjust your attributes based on what skills you raise and you can just play without worrying that your skill usage may ruin your character.

Exciting stuff! But the fact that you put in the leveling system sort of reminds me.. That while Morrowind is one of my favorite game of all times... One of the few Ive bothered completing at all.. And I completed it several times... I was only able to do it with the help of GCD. The seamless leveling mod. I assume mods for the old game won't work with OpenMW. So, have you all considered maybe building some of the more popular core gameplay mods into the game engine itself? As options of course.

Seamless leveling is my essential mod but I'm sure there are others that people just found they couldn't play the game without in the community.

Though I understand there is the issue of where to draw the line. Who get's their essentials and who doesn't. I just felt like I had to ask. I surely don't look forward to feeling like I need to min max and fear using certain skills at the wrong time again. lol

You know what you should do if WB never relents? Continue your project. Research the absolute bare minimum you have to change so that they can't do anything. Parody their IP and take legally safe cracks at them throughout the entire game. At least then all your hard work can be of use and you could get some satisfaction at the expense of the prick who decided to pursue this C&D.

I don't like what they did to Elderscrolls with Skyrim either. The engine might be nice and all but they stripped away SO much of what made elderscrolls a fun rpg that it's just not worth having.
