If you want to shoot dragons with assault rifles look into Shadowrun. Though you would probably be better off with a 50cal machinegun. I mean if you dont want to die too fast anyway.
Hehe, love that right there. Is why I also really like the up turn the indie game scene is taking recently.
Finally! I am a fan of fantasy and scifi myself. But the fact that someone is finally letting you play a game like this as a single individual sparks my interest. I've been trying to figure out why no one has done this already for a while now. Nice to see that someone actually IS!
I gotta say people are people. They are possibly more likely to let greed, hate, and fear drive them to do foolish things when they feel they have less to nothing to lose. Not many are going to lose everything and decide to become better people.
Not bad but the head needs to twist durin the attack. Or is he trying to headbutt instead of gore someone? LoL
Interesting looking game! Watched!
Considering how important footware really is it would be a realistic sort of survival thing the make boots, or footwraps if you're in dire straights, a somewhat valuable commodity in the zone. And separate from all but completely enclosed suits.
Man that spot you chose has always been bad luck for me in misery. Every time I think I've cleared a safe path in something else appears from somewhere. Hell one time I'd killed everything around. Everything.. Got beat up bad.. the the damn hamsters came roiling up out of the damn tunnel area. :.(... I wasnt even near the entrance but they came and I was so screwed I couldnt do a thing about it. lol Well armed zombies? Beat them. Bloodsuckers? All the ones from the swamp below and an extra that had spawned across the tracks. Fairly sure there were even a couple other critters that had been drawn in by the firefight. But I beat them all! All but the damn hamsters... -.- I shouldn't have tried getting them. No shotgun equiped.. I shoulda ran. But after all that I was feeling too excited to think straight. To freakin hamsters.....
Anyways everything was looking really good and really interesting but.. Was I the only one that thought the shotgun in hand in the video looked a little short and fat? Is that how that particular model really looks? I dunno.
Not what I meant at all. This could very well be a great deal of nostalgia filled fun.
Ahahahaha!!! People really are trying to beat the zombie genre back to death. Just when I thought we'd seen just about everything worth while from it... Along comes Organ Trail. Brilliant twist there. Just Brilliant!
Haha! Congratz! You had my vote this year and as I said before odds are you will get it again next year. :p If you manage to release 2.0 before 2014 that is.
medve Terraria was top in steam for a good while. 2D too. I like natural selection myself. But you can't look down on the 2D. It certainly has its place in gaming.
I've sort of gone beyond patience and impatience with this mod. I've simply come to accept it. Sort of like the weather or some other force of nature. It will be what it will be when it wants to be. All I've got to do is take it as it comes.
Hey it's your game. Do what you like. But I'm of a different opinion on game realism than you are. It's a fictional world. You can build a sense of realism in a game world that has no relation at all to true reality. All it requires is that you make a little effort to make a set of rules, natural laws, to the world that the human mind can accept then enforce them.
You could have made a magic system with a lot of restrictions and limitations. And even a risk to reward type deal. Such as magic could kill the character if pushed too far. Or you can only perform magic by collecting something challenging deep in dungeons. And you could make it so magic isn't super powerful but more of a help to improve your survival situation.
Anyways, I can see why you decided not to put in magic and I wouldn't fault you for making your own choices with your own game. I just can't say I agree with the thought process behind it as explained. That said.. Rock on. I'm still watching this game with interest and doubt I will stop any time soon!
I don't know but that beard means business!
I remember playing the original version of this mod. Much fun. And I have freelancer reinstalled and just waiting for you to release this so the fun can begin again.
Hey if you all are hyped about this game then go over to mmorpg.com and leave your rating. It's just wrong that it hasn't even gotten 10 yet! Here is a link.
Go over and leave a rating and comment. Get the game noticed more! I want to see this do well!
I can't decide if he is an assassin off to murder someone's face or a monk out gathering herbs. Either way very cool.
I'm not even much of a star trek fan but I still enjoy every update I see from you guys. Your work is pretty much spectacular.
I'm bliiiind! Aaah!
It's breaks my heart that this campaign isn't doing better. It's such a promising project. If there isn't a massive surge that pushes it through at the end I really hope you will try get the word out around the net and give it another go.
You got my vote as well. And if 2.0 is as good as its looking like it will be you will probably get it again next year too. ;)
That is some very cool info. :)
That character kind of reminds me of Stewie from family guy. It's a very good video showcasing some fairly exciting features but for some reason the thing that struck me most profoundly was... that this guy looks like Stewie from the family guy.
Final release? ;) It's a mod. It's only final when they get sick of working on it. They could keep adding awesome after 2.0 for years to come!
Actually that is sort of the link to the same copy of the image. Can't read very much of anything in it myself.
Got to second this. Would like to see all those weapons and their info with a bit more detail if that's alright. :)
People are very heated about these things. I think it's all an improvement and I'll take it any way I can get it as I don't have the skills to do it myself.
And every feature or asset the Misery team has shown me has been a lot more than just "any" improvement. Thanks for all the hard work guys!(Now hurry up! :p)
Does this mean 2.0 is closer or farther away now?
Ouch. Take care of yourself!
The things you do with text...
lol I wasnt disagreeing with Nick's comment. I was only trying to emphasize how well the npcs were moving by pointing out they are doing a better job then I do.
Realistic? Looks careful and intelligent. Feel like I romp around like a careless fool in comparison. lol
I made it to 10 days 74b. But that was lucky. I think the most important change is stopping guys from spawning on scavenge. Mostly because weak chumps spawn and run. Then repeat... Soon you have a freakin army of them. lol Very smart change there.
Can you jump out of a second story window? Is it auto death? Or is there a chance to land safely or only take injury? Does it take surface you are landing on into account? Nice soft grass might not be so bad.
I sort of don't get what this is at all.
I'm sort of shocked your kickstarter isn't doing better. I mean you've shown great quality graphics, interesting gameplay, and even had a pretty girl showcasing stuff in one of yours videos! There is still of course plenty of time for it to reach it's goal. I just figured it would have been past it by now!
Might I suggest seeing if you all can't work something out with mmorpg.com ? It's one of my favorite placed to keep track of MMOs. I mean if they are willing I don't think it would cost you anything but time.
At the very least you should be able to set up an account to display info on your game. But considering the uniqueness and quality that you all have shown so far I wouldn't be surprised if they were happy to do an interview.
While I like it considerably less and could tell you little about it Mmohuts.com also seems fairly active and they put up a lot of video reviews using youtube.
I wish I were doing better and could contribute more but these suggestions are all I really have to offer. Good luck and keep up the good work.
Those bracket looking things on the walls remind me of the old docking bays from X2. Not a bad thing as that was my favorite game from the X-Universe series. I mean sure they made graphical advances and added nice features with 3 and its expansions but X2.. It sucked me in the most. Had the most authentic feel.
I remember trying this out a bit early in testing. The concept was interesting. I wish you the best of luck with your rerelease! My gaming budget is going to be really tight for a good while so this one may have to wait but I'll be sure to give the demo a try and if I like it grab it when I can.
That is impressive. And I can only begin to imagine how badly it would have choked the system I had when I originally got this game. LOL
Just finished reading and got to say it's plenty of info for so early in design and sounds pretty ambitious and exciting for those of us with an interest in this sort of game!
I have only one point of confusion. Possibly because I've never played either of the games you've modded. Do you aim to combine both individual character control/movement with big floating sailing as the entire ship by the time you are nearing basic feature completeness?
Sorry there are actually two. Do you plan to make this a retail game?
Is this meant to say the next coming update for MR will be ten times as large as 1.8 for skyrim?
If so.. I gotta say... Sort of an underwelming example for someone like me who doesnt own, or want, skyrim. Maybe a bit more info to give us some greater impression of what this means?
Er, they are flying? I'm not seeing it. I think the clouds are over them. Er which would be supported by where it says Poison Cloud Arrow on the screen there.
Interesting art style. I like it. Not my particular style of game but I still wanted to give kudos for the style and willingness to step outside the norm.
What? No flaming snakes? ;) Looks good.
That poor dude on the left looks like he is missing some very important parts. He lose them all in some truly hellish tribal ritual or something? Man, I could maybe live without a face. But.... Damn.
Shame to see it go by the way side. Liked what I'd seen so far. Good luck with your course!
Congratz on the growing team.
That would depend on the light source wouldnt it? If they are doing a day night cycle the sun could be straight over that way.
Looks really good to me.
Interesting. Brings me to a question. I dont even know if this game will have wild life or livestock. Livestock seeming to be the most obvious use for a rope fence. Well that and along cliff edges.
^ What he said.
Define ugh.. I think the lighting looks a lot smoother then it did before.
Sweet. I find the UI to be pleasing too look as well as discreet and not likely to break immersion in the game. Well aside from the tool tips. But early on they are necessary and its good that they are attention grabbing.
Was going to say the same thing. Good call.
Sure like the art so far!
