I mod mods for Stalker.
So I posted a comment about how to open the trunk and I figured it out thanks to you guys so that worked. Now I just have to get the weapons crate/box thing out of it. I double click the box icon and nothing happens. I unload all of my equipment so I have enough weight to carry it but still no luck. What am I doing wrong?
So I just started playing. I like it a lot, but how the hell do I open the trunk? It says press tab but when I do that the quick launch menu comes up where you hit f1, f2, etc. for bandages and medkits and the rest. Do I need to press tab plus another key?
I can't believe this is actually happening. Thank you so much for all this! I remember watching the E3 demo, playing the game afterwards and wondering what in the hell happened, but I just watched your video seeing your recreating the Minas Tirith battle and it was simply amazing.
Also, since you're going for that authenticity the demo showed but the final game didn't, are you planning on changing the appearance of upgrades so that uruks and men and elves aren't swinging red and blue lightsabers and wearing gold for armor? I know upgrades are an aspect of the game, but personally I think the "this upgrade has already been purchased" text is enough. Sorry if this sounds picky and I was only wondering; I'm not going to let that take away the rest of this great mod. Anyways though I cannot wait to play this and again thanks for all the work you've put into it!
I've noticed there's an XR_3DA.exe. What version of the game do I need for this? 1.0006?

I wouldn't say there's anything necessarily wrong with the weapons (I can understand why GSC would want these values), but in vanilla CS, the damage dealt by weapons, their bullet speed, RPM, etc. are quite different when compared to the actual weapons in real life. For example in the Cordon soldiers can take almost 2 magazines of 5.49x39 ammo before going down. Likewise shooting a guy in the head with a PM somehow makes him fly in the air in some crazy death animation. I'm not saying these things are bad; they're just gameplay elements that some people like and some people don't. I just happen to not really appreciate those things.
Yea BlackHand this is just a tiny addon for the mod. I'm pretty sure there won't be any more "official" releases for CS Complete or the rest of the complete mods.
Amazing work! Is it possible for these models/meshes/textures and what not to be imported to Clear Sky, or are there differences between the X-Ray 1.5 and 1.6 engine that wouldn't allow it?
This is a very nice addon to a great mod! I'm just wondering, do you have any plans of making a minimalistic version of this hud in the future? But anyway I just wanted to say thank you for this!

..So does this mean we will have the option between an installer and a 7zip? Personally I prefer a 7zip as it is much easier in that you have access to every file and the ability to mod, backup, etc. rather than having to completely reinstall the whole mod. I'm just wondering, and again this is awe-inspiring work guys!
I disabled anti aliasing through the main menu and I double checked the r3_msaa and r3_msaa_alphatest commands to make sure nothing was set incorrectly. I don't have it enabled in the nvidia control panel, and I put the files in the game's directory (I would think it would be the bin folder though as the game uses the xrEngine.exe). The game looks just like it does if no AA was enabled, so I'm not sure if I got FXAA working. Is there something I have to do ingame?
I would like to say thank you for one of the best mods I have played so far with this game! I can see you put a lot of time and effort into this and it really has paid off, and I highly recommend this mod to anyone who's interested in something other than vanilla. I tried Misery, I Work Alone, Reloaded, Complete, and Redux. Your mod and Redux are the only ones I can truly enjoy!
I just have one question though. To get the game to use FXAA, do I place all the files in the main directory where the bin, gamedata, and other folders are? I tried that and it doesn't seem to have an effect, and I tried placing the files in the bin folder but then the game couldn't launch. It's alright if it doesn't work though, I was just interested in seeing it. Anyway thanks again for this amazing work!
Should I use the values from the user.ltx of Stalker Weather Overhaul v3.1 ? The game's default user.ltx doesn't have the correct settings from the weather mod.
Are you using any weather mods with your textures in the screen shots?
Something about this picture makes me love it so much! Everything looks so life-like and it makes the scene more dramatic. This is amazing work and I want to thank you on the amount of time you've been putting in this texture mod. I've been looking at the other screen shots and one can tell this is quality stuff. Good job!
Do you plan on using Darius6's Sound Overhaul 2.0? He released it a few weeks ago and it is a massive improvement over the default weapon sounds.
Meatpies, you might want to try S.C.O.P. Realistic. It's a different weather mod that has much darker skies (along with textures that fit properly with the environment). Just install the Base version and the patch, then install S.C.O.P.
Chernobyl wasn't a nuclear explosion. It was a massive steam explosion that started the fire that would spread the radiation across Europe.
The one for Clear Sky is garbage. I finished it way too soon, and I didn't modify any values for the characters themselves. That's why it still takes 30 bullets to kill a soldier.
I'm working on an update for that addon because it's so bad. It should be ready in less than a week.
Keep up the great work Predator and the rest of the team! I'm really looking forward to this!
Hopefully this will give Clear Sky more attention.

I just wanted to stop by and say that this team has done an amazing job, and that I'm very thankful for people like you guys. You're truly bringing the Exclusion Zone to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and that's what I always wanted to see.
xYDSxInput, go to your "sounds" folder inside the "gamedata" folder (which is in the game's directory) and delete the *whole* folder titled "characters_voice". The path should be something like...
C:\Program Files (x86)\bitComposer Games\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Call of Pripyat\gamedata\sounds\characters_voice
After deleting the folder you'll have the default voices back.
So does anyone know where to get the subtitles mod? I would love to use it with other mods.

Arch4wn, the hand textures from SC 1.4.4 are conflicting with those from the Realistic Weapons addon. You have to delete the textures and put in the ones from the addon. First, go here:
C:\Program Files\THQ\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl\gamedata\textures\act
Now delete all the textures that start with act_arm_perchatka. After that, just reinstall the addon and you'll get the correct textures.
Do you have any idea when 2.0 will be released?
