Hello fellow S.T.A.L.K.E.R.S...

I want to take a moment of your precious hunting time to introduce my newest project, Photo Realistic Zone². Many of you know the original mod, made by Argus, and consisted of the "Structures" pack and the "Creatures" pack. I took both of these textures packs, with some other high resolution textures from Cromm Cruac and merged them all together, as a base for my mod.

Now, I didn't take the textures from various packs, merged them and took credit for them. I followed various texturing tutorials, recognizing different materials, usability of photo's, making my own textures with various other textures, making seamless textures etc. etc. I've come a far way, from making my very first weapon skins to my latest works.

"There is a lot more to texturing than you think. You need to have a keen eye for shapes and design, you need to know traditional art theory, you need to be great at observing and picking apart things, and you need to know how to balance your shapes, among many other skills." - racer455
So with that in mind, I'd like to welcome you to my newest project, old followers, newcomers, everyone. Please, be sure to leave as much feedback as possible so I can imrpove even more. I need you guys in order to make a balanced texture pack, because I am sure most of you guys wont agree on every new texture I make.

So again, welcome both old and new, to the Photo Realistic Zone²

This mod will be compatible with every mod.

Sad news S.T.A.L.K.E.R.S.
22nd, Feb: Welcome. I am not pleased with the GF download service at all, and rest assure I didn't just sit around and did nothing. I've send an email at the staff regarding the issue and I hope to hear back from them soon. For now, grazegrabber has put up an alternative link to a torrent. Because my internet is slow, uploading takes half a day for me, so I can't spend the time uploading the parts to other sites. We just have to wait a bit. The zone's testing our patience.

In regard of the blocked countries, here is the list:

About the User.ltx

It's pretty simple to tweak the user.ltxMy user.ltx is linked here. Do mind that you can't directly use my config, because of the custom keybindings with my gaming mouse and resoltion. But, you can read this article on how to change your user.ltx (albeit ingame, or in notepad) and what line does what. I'd advise you not to go overboard :)And there are some handy tricks to doing the stuff in game, just type "r1" and use "TAB" to go through the commands!

Hello, the game looks amazing with your graphic, my prob is: I can'T start the game it chrashes (i installed the mod like in the read me), (i have the steam version): here is the "bug": XR_3DA.exe caused BREAKPOINT in module "D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl\bin\xrCore.dll" at 0023:0061CC85, xrDebug::backend()+165 byte(s)

What was strange: i don't need to change the fsgame, because it was there already... (the change)

I deinstalled the mod and used smart mod manager and installed it... but it crashed again... what can i do now... i really want your graphic pack.. so it looked in my gamedater Folder --> Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3, was that right?

Thanks for your help... :(

It's the first time i do such a thing...

Ok now the game starts normal after i uses repair from steam... and did the install again. but now the graphic won't load. i checked the bricks on the wall of a house and it ins't like in the vid.

Do you know why ? and why the new graphics/mod won't load? :(

The patch (latest download here) is not in folder ergo: not used... i can't imagine that this is the reason...

Thank you very much for this. The game looks terrific :D
One question though, how does this work with textures from Absolute Nature? I haven't installed that mod yet, should I install it over your textures and then install your level addon over it or is it not important in what order I do the installation?

Stunning texture mod!
The high resolution and details are breathtaking.
I use these textures with the shaders from another mod called parallaxed for the perfect look.
Thanks for your hard work, these textures bring a new lease of life to this classic game !

I suggest you to open the "read more +" on literally every download. I quote;

Quote:Installation Procedure 1:

If you already have a gamedata installed, follow step 2. If not, follow step 1 :)

1. NON-modded stalker version:

If you've never used mods, go into your stalker dir, mine's

"C:\Program Files (x86)\THQ\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl"

And open up:"FSgame.ltx"

Change the first line to this:

"$game_data$ = false| true| $fs_root$| gamedata\"

Now the game will use data from the "gamedata" folder, instead of the .db (.database) files :)

Now, copy parts 1,2,3 into your directory, i've set it all up. If it asks to overwrite the current gamedata folder, just do so :)

Installation Procedure 2:

If you already have a gamedata with textures in it, don't mind the fsgame.ltx switch.

Backup your original files and overwrite the 3 parts in the textures folder :)

Well i've already moved on to another guy's mod which applies to all three games, however since we're suggesting things. I suggest you double check that, I just re-downloaded each piece again, and this file you are referring to does not exist, nor is it at the very least copy/pasted in the summary. No instructions provided.

In fact "Patch Changelog" is the only document file present in any of these archives.

Mike, if you click on one of the downloads here on Moddb, there is an option to extend a description field (above the image), called "read more +".

So, right back at you. I put it online, because I thought; "People probably wont miss this", but it seems like they do. I'll put a readme in the mod itself next time as well. (It's fairly simple to install, though. Extremely easy, imho, but then again I'm a biased experienced modder).
