The Red Alert, under development by the mod team of C&C Labs, undertakes one of the most ambitious tasks in C&C modding: to recreate and improve upon an original game. The mod, in development for Red Alert 3, is based off the original Red Alert's art and game play. Not aiming to model realism, it instead endeavors to bring the addictive heart-pounding game play of the classic to a world-class 3D engine, to bring back all of the classic units, including those from Aftermath, and to recreate the very "feel" of its art style. With The Red Alert, epic tank battles, MiG attack runs, and Cruiser strikes will be more than just fond memories — they will all be weapons in your arsenal once again! It was released on September 21, 2011 and was ranked the number one mod on Moddb and critically acclaimed on other sites, with GameSpy calling it "A Command and Conquer fan's dream come true."

More than eighteen months after its release, The Red Alert mod is still alive and kicking, and more than 17 years after release, the classic Red Alert 1 game is fresher than ever. Whether you played the original game, are just a fan of the mod, or are new entirely, this release has something for you, with a host of gameplay enhancements, AI improvements, and bug fixes. Alright, so I had at a it a bit, and here's my tentative opinion. First of all, the number one thing hurting this mod is lack of coherency. When I started a game on Pier Pressure, I had my large, smooth-looking conyard right next to an original RA3 structure. It was extremely jarring. Second, many units feel underdesigned and bland. also a side not is that i remember the cruiser having 4 guns 2 front 2 back. but a funny note about the cruiser for this mod is that if it maintains fire it capsizes and rolls in place and if destroyed surviving crew are at the bottom of the ocean
i must say c&c labs have done it again! incredible mod guys. i loved the forgotten and was blown away by this. i just wished u guys also did a "the red alert 2" for ra2 fans like me. also if u guys helped out other modders on this site who cannot finish their mods but have incredible work so far *cough project X cough* cough*

The game refuses to start... it does nothing
Does this mod work with "The Ultimate Collection" i've downloaded the mod, and updated my game .exe files to run as administrator as well as getting the new Launchers. when i go to do a skirmish game though, it doesn't give me the options of maps or to choose my force to play as?
