·The: definite article.
before a consonant;
before a vowel or video game mod.
1: Denote particular, specified persons or things.
2: Indicates uniqueness or individuality.
3: Used before a noun, and generally stressed, to emphasize one of a group or type as the most outstanding or prominent.
·The Red Alert: The original, the only, the true; The Red Alert.
The Red Alert, under development by the mod team of C&C Labs, undertakes one of the most ambitious tasks in C&C modding: to recreate and improve upon an original game. The Red Alert, a mod in development for Red Alert 3, is based off the original Red Alert's art and game play. Not aiming to model realism, it instead endeavors to bring the addictive heart-pounding game play of the classic to a world-class 3D engine, to bring back all of the classic units, including those from Aftermath, and to recreate the very "feel" of its art style. With The Red Alert, epic tank battles, MiG attack runs, and Cruiser strikes will be more than just fond memories — they will all be weapons in your arsenal once again!

This release isn't as big as I was hoping it would be as most of the updates this month are behind the scenes, but that doesn't mean we don't have some pictures to show. I've finally gotten around to putting the Ore Refinery in the game, which I was procrastinating due to not knowing how the ore system is going to be handled. I still don't know, but I realized it wouldn't matter in the end. Also, despite what I may have said earlier, we are going to have the different countries in the game with their respective minor attribute bonuses; this is due to the fact that it doesn't seem to be possible, at all, to remove Japan thus giving us only two faction, so instead we added some. Anyways, pictures:
Of course, there are more in the images section. I also want to once again assure everyone that both this mod and The Forgotten CnC: The Forgotten are chugging along. Hopefully, both will be ready for release sometime next year. Well, there's nothing else to report, so I'll see you next month.

Very nice but you use the team color too much.I mean,a WF with red roof and compeletly red miner?
I have been holding back on buying Red Alert 3 for a long time now. but this might make me get it. The one thing that would push me to 100% spend my money to buy RA3 just to play this mod is if you got Frank Klepacki's permission to use the original songs from Red Alert. That would make the game absolutely perfect. You can always try and get a hold of Frank K at his site frankklepacki.com but I really don't know how all that would work. Anyways, good work on the mod it looks absolutely great so far.
Technically, I wouldn't need Frank's permission, I'd need EA's permission, and I wouldn't even need that (although they've practically already given it) since this is a remake of a game owned by EA for a game owned by EA.
However, all of that is irrelevant since EA made it so that modders can't add music to the game, so there will be no custom music, not even the original Red Alert music, I'm sad to say.
Now if only the childish looking shaders could be changed, I want to see less shine and bloom lol. :P
I would buy Red Alert 3 just to play this.
Been a lurker for years but I logged in now just to say that this mod is going to kick some huge ass.
Guys, can you tell us how much progress has been done?
also a question:i never played ra1 but afaik some units were shared between the factions, can you pls make it so their is no unit shared, and add more units to compenstate.?
looking forward to is guys, the ingame screenshots in your website looks awesome:)
Most models are done. Except infantry, infantry are 0% done. Nearly all the structures and most (non-infantry) units are done from the art stand point. Nearly none of the sounds are done, and very little of the UI is done. Much of the game mechanics are done, the biggest hurdle remaining would be the ore system. Rumor has it EA plans to fix this for us, but I haven't seen or heard any progress on that front. Also, none of the maps are done.... Though I we may be hiring map makers for that in the near future.
So we have a long ways to go yet.
As for your second question, the answer is no. Although, very few units are shared between factions, just the Ore Truck, Transport, MCV, Engineer, and Rifleman. Many structures are shared between the factions, and while we have integrated minor variations between the two versions, we're not going to completely replace any of them with a completely unique structure. In fact, doing so would defeat the purpose of this mod.
This is a must play mod. I'm having orgasm's looking at the screenshots. :O
