OccupationCS Beta 2.4 is NOW Available

Until available on ModDb you can download the OccupationCS Update Patch 2.4 here: Filefront.com
Updates OccupationCS 2.3+ to OccupationCS 2.4.
OccupationCS: Source Version 2.4 decreases bullet wobble due to air resistance giving all weapons increased accuracy and makes long range weapons far more effective. Sniper rifles are no longer inaccurate past 100 feet. AI\Player Escalation System has been finalized creating a dynamic ever changing conflict that has increasing levels of weapons, ammunition and armor and is fraught with enemy and allied troop surges. As the game and body count progresses so does equipment selection and difficulty. Surges cause one faction to temporarily gain more recruits as well as decreased spawn times.

A new server setting "Escalation 1-Slow to 5-Fast" customizes the speed at which a conflict escalates. Grab the enemy HQ and Entry Zones if you can, but holding on to your Allied zones is a must. 2.4 also includes a new Grenade sequence that prevents abuse and fixed Reloads for the Mac11 and M16. The fix removes the post animation delay from earlier versions.

Included is a development map "SDK_Desert" which is used by us to test long range ballistics. It is a large unfinished development map that can be used to test different weapons at long ranges. A "Sandbox" if you will. We included it because with the bullet wobble issue fixed, rifle and scope weapons now have a great deal of accuracy factoring in bullet drop of course.

Player and AI Escalation is now calibrated and working with a color coded system. Allied and Enemy Surging and balanced escalation now gives OccupationCS a dynamic single player combat game. Armor has been properly spec'd so if your aim is true and you have the right bullet type even the heaviest enemy will fall quickly.

It is highly recommended you do a clean install of OccupationCS: Source 2.3.1
Secure Zone Resupply Menu:
When in a Secured Entry Zone press "B" to open that entry Resupply Menu. Once all items are purchased press exit to close. A Player can not open another Resupply Window for 2 Minutes after last Open.

Field Bandage Bag:

Bandage Bag is added to inventory every deployment. Deploy the Bandage Bag and Right-Click to apply bandages to other Soldiers within reach and Left Click to apply Bandages to Self. Each Application applies 6 inches of Bandage. When no more bandages can be applied an abrupt sound will be made. Watch out for bandage saturation. Saturated bandages can be reapplied.

Zone Triage/Treatment Recovery:

When in an owned Entry or HQ Zone press and hold the "T" Key to enter triage\treatment mode. An Entry Zone offers Triage and an HQ offers Treatment. Treatment is more reliable than Triage and less chance of failure. The chance of successful repair also depends on the level of control of the zone. A Player can interrupt triage\treatment at anytime by right clicking. Any Deployed weapon will be automatically be holstered.

Feigning Death:

When NOT in an owned Entry or HQ Zone press and hold the "T" Key to enter Feign Death mode. A Player can interrupt Feigning Death at anytime by right clicking. Any Deployed weapon will be dropped.

Remove
any previous versions and download and install OccupationCS: Source 2.3 Full Install and then OccupationCS: Source 2.3.1 Update Patch Install. This will remove any discrepancies encountered in the game performance.

OccupationCS: Source uses the Counter-Strike Weapons and the HL2 projectile weapons (over 80 ammo types). Owning HL2 and Counter-Strike: Source is required to play this version. This is required in order to comply with copyright conditions.

You will experience a level of bullet and damage realism never seen before in a FPS video game. Occupation implements a realistic combat environment where the bullets don't just penetrate and exit the target but also expand and fragment inside them causing the target not just to die but weaken, collapse and pass out. Occupation also creates an innovative approach to Multiplayer Gaming using ownership as the principal objective and controlled transport reinforcement as the principal means of re-spawning and also provides a Single/Coop player training mode pitting two HL2 AI run Factions against each other with you in the middle. If you like Realistic FPS's you should check out the beta, It will blow you away.

Introduction To The Game

The Citadel has fallen and now humanity must get back up. With the alien nemesis defeated the surviving rebel army attempts to reestablish the rule of law. Unable to agree on whether to continue the Black Mesa experiments or to outlaw all alien technology the rebel army fractures into two rival factions: The Alliance and the Coalition.
With the fall of the new alien enemy comes the return of the old enemy, ourselves.

WELCOME TO THE OCCUPATION

Game Features

External and Terminal Ballistic Modeling:In Occupation Bullet behavior is based on real world physics. The bullets ability to move and penetrate depends on its physical characteristics such as energy, diameter, mass, shape and material composition to name a few. As bullets are projected through time and space their interaction with the world cause them to slow, drop, expand, fragment, deflect, lodge and obliterate during their short life. The end result is both amazing and terrifying and most importantly realistic.
Player Biometric Modeling Having realistic projectiles with a simple tally damage system would have been pointless so Occupation implemented a health-damage system equal to that of the Ballistic Modeling. The Game uses a Composite health system that captures the complexity of the human bodies operation and most importantly its failure due to trauma.
The primary form of projectile damage to players and NPC's is caused by cavity damage. The extent of the cavity made by the projectile, the energy lost in making that cavity and the body parts the cavity passes through all are factors in the calculation of overall impact damage. The truly unique aspect of Occupation is that the cavity damage is not limited to a single hit location but can intersect many locations along the path of the projectile and can involve multiple entry and exit wound tracts. A summary injury report is available in-game (Body Status) and a complete breakdown of these injuries both sustained and inflicted is available after death.

EnterpriseG has been hard at work lately working on patch 2.11, so I decided to preview some of the new patch to everyone while he is typing until his fingers bleed.

Included in the patch will be various fixes and improvements, including:

  • Fix of a serious bug that would cause major server lag
  • Several new skins and a redesigned menu
  • Better Scopes
  • Many armor improvements
  • Global Rank System

That's right, now OccupationCS has a Global Rank Database which saves your rank across all servers in the game. This means that you can play in whatever server you wish and retain your hard earned rank.

We have also been working on a new website for OccupationCS; it is much better then the last and includes a rank page. This page will show the rank and stats of all players in OccupationCS, now you can see where you are ranked with other players! You can check a WIP version of the site here (with ranks page) Mnetservers.info

Keep your eyes peeled because this patch is coming very soon, and I can't wait to see how we all will rank up!

Until then, try not to get shot!

Yo, I've noticed a major glitch recently. The AI are able to withstand unrealistic amounts of damage, for example: I was using a handgun loaded with .45 ACP copper JHP rounds (a notably fat round with a hollowed out tip), and upon seeing an enemy (unarmored) I instinctively opened fire. Now there was a friendly guy covering up a portion of the enemy's body, so I aimed for the legs. I hit at least 5 rounds into and around the enemy's one knee and a few others into the other leg (all but maybe 1 or 2 missed, and I used a whole 15 round magazine). Now, he just stood, there, fine and even chased after me when I ran due to his buddies showing up. Now, in my experience, even a leg shot will mess one up, but not him.

Example 2: An enemy freezes up (like just kinda stands there) and me n' my buddies open fire, he takes rounds all over (chest, head, gut, arms, legs, you name it, we hit it...). We keep firing even though he is way past the point of death (and worse, well for his body) he stood there, didn't fall over, didn't shoot, or even try to walk. What confused me was he was still considered alive. Then he decides he doesn't want to be frozen, so he unfreezes, pulls up a gun, and kills me in 1 shot (I believe he was labeled as having "minor injuries").

Example 3: Using an assault rifle loaded with 5.56 steel FMJ rounds I shoot a guy in the head (he had a light or medium vest, so it shouldn't protect his head) there were some sparks, the sound of metal, and he was fine (it protected his head... from a round that does not squish in...)

May have bugs in the chart/body integrity, healing does repair damage but might not fix integrity, looking into it
