The latest Orange Box version of OccupationCS: Source has been released.
It's a whole new game...

Real Time Projectiles, Cavity Based Damage, Physics Calculated Terminal Ballistics, Bullet Deformations. The Evolution of the First Person Shooter!

OccupationCS: Source 3.03 is the most efficient, stable version of OccupationCS to date. It captures the reality of armed conflict in a fast paced Single, Coop and Multiplayer First Person Environments. FPS Combat will never be the same again.

The latest version of OccupationCS: Source has been released, incorporating a range of updates and most importantly support for the updated Orange Box engine.
Most noticeably different is the updated spawn menu and weapon selection. Players can now select a class which has access to a particular range of weaponry. Once a weapon is chosen, players can select from a range of different ammunition types for the weapon.
New player models have been added with modular armor components, chosen by the player. Armor and Inventory are tied to the player's encumbrance system.

  • Concept Artists - need to be able to draw some original yet realistic military personnel.
  • Character Modelers - being able to work from concept art to produce realistic characters is a must.

Resurrecting Ballistics, I am looking at new opportunities to implement the ballistics. I have been developing in android and released a game Play.google.com and am now looking back at picking up FPS development my true calling.

I'll be honest what's in there already is pretty impressive, i'd focus more on optimization and cleanup at this point, maybe adding some more guns and getting a server up

As an Occupation Source Developer (the one who reworked the ballistics for all the guns) I can honestly say that active development for this mod has ceased for the time being. It is unknown if we will pick this back up or not, I am trying to take the lessons learned from this mod and apply them to ArmA III with the help of other developers. The reason for the inactivity is that we started out with 5 developers and it ended up with OccupationG and myself, once my ballistics code in was complete by OccupationG my job was finished and all I did was beta test. This is one of my proudest mods I have ever worked on & I would like to thank everyone for their time and constructive criticism.

Until G backs that up specifically. That sounds like a complete load. I'm sure you're proud of your involvement but to claim you completely reworked the ballistics is pretty rich. G and I did rework the ballistics and we did use some of the information provided, but at no point do I recall you making around 200 scripts for all the ammo types. Scripts which were never included in a proper release.

And unlike you, I can't honestly say that development has ceased. Does it look like the project is alive? Not in the slightest. G hasn't been on Steam in almost a year. Last I talked to him was in May of 2012. Unless you talked to him past that point, it didn't boil down to just you and him. I stuck with this project from 2007 till then. So do me a favor and don't pretend to have contributed more than you did.

As for a more official statement, yes the project does not look like it'll be returning to life. I've sent G a private message and am awaiting a response. It is very likely he has moved on from attempting to develop source mods and gone to android app/game development. Was fun while it lasted.

Well thanks to everyone who made this mod awesome. I hope at least we can get the last version of this, even if it a development one.

I think this game, if given a good budget with good employees,
may become a very fun and popular intense battle simulator. Hopefully there will be more to come with this game. I will be watching for updates :)
EDIT: The game is already very fun, just needs a bit more tweaks and hopefully it will become more popular :)
