An ongoing project dedicated to updating and expanding the original Aliens vs. Predator PC FPS by Rebellion. Almost every model, texture, and sound in the game has been replaced. All of the multiplayer maps are updated with high resolution textures and new detailed models. In addition, the singleplayer maps have been revamped with high res textures, tweaked, or expanded.

Nearly 100% of the sounds are replaced or redone. Everything from the Predator's shoulder cannon to the sound of Alien footsteps to the Marine's smartgun.

Colony: various environmental details, new control room, lightning, new terrain outside of colony
Invasion: several new areas, new start section with friendly marines and sentry gun, hidden Queen chamber
Orbital: redone Predator ship attack, friendly marines at start. new space details such as planet Acheron and high res Tyrargo, hanging corpses

Alien Campaign:
Earthbound: new high res Milky Way and Earth props
Invasion: friendly aliens randomly spawn from starting hive area
Caverns: several friendly aliens scattered throughout the map

Also, I decided to write easy step-by-step instructions on how to prevent those pesky crashes at the end of certain missions. This method should work for the vast majority of you:

  • Go to the AvP Classic 2000 directory.
  • Find AvP_Classic.exe and right click, select Properties
  • Select the Compatibility tab
  • Check the compatibility mode for Windows 98/Windows ME
  • Check Disable visual themes
  • Check Disable desktop composition
  • Check Disable scaling on high DPI settings
  • Check Run this program as administrator
  • Hit Apply and OK
  • Double click AvP_Classic.exe to run the game.

I'm using Windows 7 Pro 64 bit and confirmed it 100% solved any issues.

Will there be another update for your Mod eventually in the future?

Such as AvP Classic Redux 3.0?

Or is AvP Classic Redux 2.0 considered to be absolutely a final version?

What about new Single Player maps? Any plans for making and releasing any additional Single Player maps? Because I would love to play some new single player maps for AvP like the ones that had been made and released by Bladeghost.

I always felt that there had been very few new Single Player maps available when compared to the Multiplayer maps, but it's kind of expected since Multiplayer is generally more popular.

I wish I had more time to redo everything because so much can be improved. There's so many maps and extra goodies left unfinished mostly out of boredom. Unfortunately, whatever little spare computer time I can find in a week is used playing and enjoying games. You miss a lot of good stuff when you devote everything to a mod over the course of a few years.

You can try backing up the original fastfile folder or finding the exact ffl files that contain the sounds listed in ffinfo.txt.

Can you change the marine model to use <ALIENS:Colonial Marines>'s marine model? AVP3's marine models they are not similar then movie. but ACM's marines are looks good. how do you think?

Before ACM came out that was my intention. After I played it any thought I had in salvaging that mess was swept away. I will not waste my time merging ACM with AvP.

I did everything I intended to do and then some. There's quite a lot more I started, planned, tested, and left in various stages of development. But from my perspective it's done. I do still have all the tools and files saved and ready to go, and anybody who wants to learn or ask questions how to mod can email me anytime. If someone wants to continue the Redux mod I'm 100% supportive of that.

What is your gamma setting? My lighting looks nothing like the ones in the screens and I installed the ENB correctly.

I think I had it maxed out ingame whenever taking screenshots/videos. After a mission starts hit escape and the gamma slider is available somewhere in the settings menu. Bring it all the way to the right and select save settings or keep settings then return to the game. For whatever reason it's not there until you start playing. I'm going by memory and haven't played in months. This is one of those odd quirks of AvP Classic that still causes issues with people.
