New Hi rez textures (thanks to Mad Max RW for discovering how to implement hi res textures) with pre rendered simulated bump mapping and stencil shadows.

Simulated dynamic lighting effects.

new Aliens movie

A new Alien movie coming out taking place between Alien one and two, from the director of District 9 and a new movie called Chapie. Now I saw some concept art and a script of a Aliens movie he was working on before Prometheus one came out, and it looked amazing. showed some kind of giant warehouse with artificial habitat, a derelict space craft and of course Xenomorphs. Also there was a screen shot of Ripley and Hicks post Aliens time line. they where older and scarred up and looking more bad ass then ever. I,m thinking they where some kind of clones. Hicks had the scar on his face from the film Aliens. So this new film taking place before Aliens from another great director, I,m finnaly excited to see a actual come back of the Alien.

Will there be a download released any time soon for your project?

Maybe a playable demo or beta for the public to test and give some feedback. I know Mad Max RW and bladeghost were the only ones that had released new content such as new levels for AvP Classic 2000, but it's rare since the modding community of the AvP fanbases are much more interested and focused on modding and providing mods for AvP2 instead.

It's just sad that the AvP community isn't like how it once was back in the early days when it first came out in 1999.

People rarely play AvP Classic 2000 now, but it's just the reality of it, and I wasn't too happy with the limitations of fighting only the same 3 Alien Bots in Co-Op mode, and hope that can still be fixed, modified or altered in some form, some way or another.

If I can purchase a digital drawing pad such as a wacom, I will very likely finnish this project. As far as I know there is no such way to add new bots to avp, I can change the chracter models but their bounding box will remain the same, making face huggers almost impossible to add to the game in skirmish mode. how ever what I can add is a left for dead type experience where you play coop with friends and if you die you respawn in a alien hive and will have to be rescued by friends, I can also add traps and hazards, puzzles and secret areas, and mini games such as a aliens arcade type experience( like a hidden level, you must find). I stopped work on the project mostly because there didnt seem to be a big enough demand for this mod, due to the aliens universe constantly being changed by prometheus. How ever AvP is still a great game engine, supporting high res textures and high poly models and enviroments, also being one of the fastest game engines still to this day. I do hope to start work again.

That's something I never understood. Such as why there were never any Bot spawning commands for Face Huggers or Alien Queens to begin with even when in "Debug" Mode?

Thus that must have rendered it completely impossible to add them to Skirmish and Co-Op maps.

It makes me wonder what's in the Source Code that could be altered to change this entirely and remove that limit altogether.

Although I do understand and am aware of the original Gold Edtion source code that had been released is completely outdated now.

But there had been another modified and more up to date source code released by sirlemonhead for AvP Gold. Although I don't know if that would help or not in finding a way around the Limitation of the same 3 Alien Bots for Skirmish and Co-Op maps. His updated source code would be similar to Classic 2000 since sirlemonhead's code had been used to create the Classic 2000 re-release version. So maybe that might help, or so I hope at some point somebody figures it out.

Other than that, it just seems that new single player maps are the Only maps that are completely compatible with all bots and therefore can be designed to include all AI controlled enemies in the game in a single map.

I LOVE the new idea of having being to be rescued by friends for Co-Op.

Traps and hazards can always add to the challenge since the Bots in the game aren't really that smart and bright for the era of the game had been released. If only they AI's can be re-tweaked a bit for Marines and Predators to make them more interesting to fight where the same 2 or 3 tactics used against them do not always work each time.

Secret ares and mini games? That sounds interesting, almost like Easter Eggs in a game? I've been still trying to figure out all the secret and hidden areas of all maps in the stock Maps of the entire game in case I had overlooked any of them.

I do understand the lack of demand and attention this game received, but I do blame Sega and GearBox mostly for f---ing over the community and fanbases to begin with (not so much Prometheus or Ridley Scott for that matter) which is why I think the fanbase and community had shrunk over time.

The AvP movies, is another thing that really seemed to have divided the community and fanbases more, as I think that never really helped either. I also never understood why Fox claim they wanted to save money in creating AvP movies set in modern day earth settings instead of a futuristic space setting consistent with all of the previously released content and materials pertaining to AvP, such as the games and comics and novels had always had always been set in the far distant future. With the kind of money they had spent on creating those 2 AvP movies, we could have had at least 4 or 5 much better Aliens video games by now. Sigh.

Also, thanks to the way those last couple of Aliens games had turned out to be, I had learned to appreciate AvP 1999/Gold/Classic 2000 much more, because they the newer and modernized Aliens games had all lacked any kind of SDKs and custom map creation support, but rather follow the whole "microtransactions" from DLCs business model.

well I can see by reading my own comments and reviews, that I was an ahole, so I dont blame you guys for not commenting or supporting my mods. Thank you for your patients with me and those who did support me. Sorry, meaning Im working on being a more kind and more accountable person. thank you all. I may return to finnish this project but at this time I am still trying to get back into game design.

Hey Chainsaw, I am sorry I havent made any progress as my current graphics card does not support integ world editor for this game, but I did recently purchase a new pc. So Im going to try again. I think I might play thru Alien Isolation first, maybe to get some influence from that. I have been playing Space Engineers designing a Aliens inspired ship called the Chubby Honey.

Thank you for your support, this definately pushes me to complete this, this mod has been on my mind alot lately.

well its going to be weird, like you go thru the levels like solving puzzles to get inside of secret areas with goodies, if you die you respawn cacooned in the nest you have to be rescued. each time you complete the mission more areas open up its all coop local or online, but what kind of things would you like to see?

Well, I am open up to creator's varied ideas. Personally I would like to see something oozing with paranoidal atmosphere (boosted with that old ligthing system which I really like) taken straight from the aliens universe, smooth maps basing on fast paced action and ocasionally giving you a head scratch yet not turning into senseless maze forcing you to ragequit and deleting, also I would like to feel little scare factory (in vein of screamers, they are simple and the most effective)implemented in unexpected areas. Pretty much this.

well I made a little test map and played with some friends and the action is pretty much going to be like 20 aliens all the time and then predaliens and pretorians here and there, but im working on a system that will be dynamic to the players concerning the amount and frequency of aliens that appear
