An ongoing project dedicated to updating and expanding the original Aliens vs. Predator PC FPS by Rebellion. Almost every model, texture, and sound in the game has been replaced. All of the multiplayer maps are updated with high resolution textures and new detailed models. In addition, the singleplayer maps have been revamped with high res textures, tweaked, or expanded.

Also, I decided to write easy step-by-step instructions on how to prevent those pesky crashes at the end of certain missions. This method should work for the vast majority of you:

  • Go to the AvP Classic 2000 directory.
  • Find AvP_Classic.exe and right click, select Properties
  • Select the Compatibility tab
  • Check the compatibility mode for Windows 98/Windows ME
  • Check Disable visual themes
  • Check Disable desktop composition
  • Check Disable scaling on high DPI settings
  • Check Run this program as administrator
  • Hit Apply and OK
  • Double click AvP_Classic.exe to run the game.

I'm using Windows 7 Pro 64 bit and confirmed it 100% solved any issues.

Hello! Can you make 3.0 for redux? Just 2.0 is good but there are some things that need to be fixed and changed:
1.The game with this mod crashes after completing the level.
2.Improve all the original textures to 4k resolution using Topaz gigapixel. (because some textures are not replaced, hires textures look great, but somehow not very)
3.Make improved NPC models as in 1.0 (not from avp 2010 because avp 2010 it's not avp 3 it's just a remake of this game, and also please make an original but improved xenoborg model) weapons and objects.
4.Make new sounds: weapons, NPCs, etc.
5.Leave the locations as usual:
Marine campaign: Mission 3 "Invasion" (remove the hive), Mission 4 "Orbital" (remove the 2nd predator ship)
Predator campaign: Mission 1 "Waterfall" (leave the beginning of the location as in the original), leave spawn NPCs in all missions (from redux).
6.Remove additional maps from 2.0 in the skirmish mode.(The additional maps are good, but some of them have bugs)
7.New HUD models
By the way you can leave avp 2 models and also the textures of the space from redux.
I won't rush you, I want you to understand.

I found out what is making the end of level crash:
It's the AvP Redux Models in the AvP_Huds folder: *

pred_hud.rif
marwep.rif
Disk.Rif
alien_hud.rif

Using the original AVP classic 2000 files fixed it for me.
A note: I am not playing the Redux Mod, I just tried using the AvP Redux Models add on here.

For those experiencing end-of-mission crashes, try to replace these two files to their original (non-redux) version.
It fixed it for me.

Hey, not sure if anyone'll see this, but has anyone noticed the marines in the Predator campaign look like a texture is overlapping with another? It's a bit distracting imo.

For future people who find this file and get discouraged: This game WILL work with the Gold Edition, at least the version on Steam and GOG. You just need to tweak both the launcher for the game as well as the game itself. To do this:

1. Find the main game directory in your Steam or GOG games collection. Both Steam and GOG have options to open the game directory without having to search for it through File Explorer.

2. Find the launcher for the game, inside the "Launcher" folder of the main game directory. Right click the executable and select "Properties."

3. From there, click the "Compatibility" tab, then check "Run this program as administrator."

4. Find the main game. To do this, go back to the main game directory and then into the folder labeled either "bin" or "bin_crossplay" depending on whether you're playing a local game or with people using both Steam and GOG, respectively.

5. Right click AvP_Classic.exe and select "Properties." Click the "Compatibility" tab, then set the program to run in compatibility mode for Windows 98/Windows ME.

I've confirmed that this works on my Windows 10 Home PC. I can run the game, select a level, and play it to completion with no crashes or performance issues. The game does not crash after finishing a level.

Mission 3 still crashes at the end

In my case, only launching Crossplay AvP.exe allow me to pass trough 1st mission end screen. It was set all along the description above.
