While many of those things are by design, we will have a look at what we can do :)
For example: we had a 3D animated hand (it's still in the tutorial level) but we decided to remove it for the combat. Since you use your own hands to cast magic runes with Leap Motion, there's no point in having a 3D hand in front of you, it's not immersive. We want to give the player the feeling HE is de druid, and not just controlling a druid avatar.
Furthermore we where aiming for dark claustrophobic settings. Still I'll have a look at what the beta testers have to say about it :) Thanks again!

Yes Its for PC (and Mac) but you need a Leap Motion to play it. Depending on the succes we might port it to other platforms (and maybe a non-leapmotion version)

Thanks for the feedback, we've experimented a bit with toon shaders in the past, but we didn't think they looked that great. We might experiment with it a bit more in the future.

I think the most important thing to remember when creating an education game is that a game ALWAYS has to be fun. So we mainly aim to create a fun game, the education aspect is an extra layer.

Often you just know what games are going to be good, you just have to make a personal selection. The problem with pirates is that they don't make a selections, they just want everything!

Yes, it's in the same level, thats why you see a lot of the same mushrooms. We are hard at work producing more game assets to add more variaty to our environments

I agree about those suggestions. These screenshots are made in an early test level, and do not represent what the final game will look like. Our main levels should all be underground, so no atmosphere, but we will definitely try to add more light and color to our environments. We also plan to 'play' with some nice particle effects to create floating mushroom spores that give off some light.
Fireflies and glowworms are planned too and will infact play a big role in our games. The player will have a pet glowworm that can evolve in a firefly later on. Those will light up the environment around the player, so they are never in the dark. This is what they will look like: Sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net

There have been many education games, but most of the time they are not fun, that’s the main problem with these types of projects. We feel a game should always be fun, no matter what they are about. Most of the time the main problem is that those children know they are dealing with learning material, it's too obvious and not fun. They know they are being tested, and don't solve the problems because they want to but because they feel they have to, that’s not rewarding. You have to 'hide' it a bit and think about gameplay first.
They have been doing this for years with math riddles, trying to hide the boring 'math' in a story, to make it more interesting. Games are a great medium and give a lot of opportunities to do it better.

I agree, I had a lot of fun with the vehicles during the (old) playtests! Its one of the only good expierencies I've had with vehicles in source.
Those vehicles add a lot to the gameplay of the mod and make it stand out!

If you want to contribute you just have to go to the contribution forum and post your work like everyone else does. Unless you asked to join the team (not to 'contribute') I can hardly believe someone would have said you can't contribute sounds.
I have no idea about those sounds, but please feel free to give your opinion on our forums (so the devs can read them), and we are always looking for new contributors.

They are placed procedurally, cities won't be hand made in Infinity so no drag and drop, they will all have a unique look and layout.

The raptors from movies like King Kong and Jurassic park look nothing like the real thing, thats what you are confusing them with.

Lucky it’s not a final product, we are trying to show every step in the development of Infinity, something you don’t get to see with most other games. What you see is all work in progress and this is the first implementation of 'vegetation'.
The fact that you only see one type of tree(without snow) is just because no other vegetation art is ready to be used in the game, and there’s also no need to put more in it atm as this is just some prototyping we are doing.
It's all procedurally generated(not the same as randomly).
It will be possible to be the first to discover and explore planets because there are more than 100 billion of them in the game.
You can also colonize planets and build things, how this will work is not set in stone yet. Of course don't expect a SimCity or something like that ;)
Our main inspiration source are the Elite games
Those are god rays(sun shafts), we are using the same technique as Crysis for this.

Just played it and its very different from what I expected.
I expected bad graphics but good gameplay and its the other way around. This mod has one of the best looking maps Ive ever seen on source, all those details(little robots who drive around), good lighting, amazing skyboxes,... The player models look very good too, one of them is almoste too sexy to kill. ;) Weapons looks ok but feel strange, I dont like the animation after you shot with the shotgun.
The gameplay on the other hand needs a lot of work IMO, its just some DM gameplay. I know it has another gameplay mode but it doesn't play very different. The gameplay is not as bad as in some other mods but I can't see me play this very long.
I hope you guys release an update soon and do something about the gameplay.

With the release of Infinity Combat Prototype 2.0 this texture addon(for ICP1.0) has no use anymore. Everything we added with this addon has been added to the 2.0 release.

Im only a texture artist for Infinity ;) , 99% has been made by Flavien Brebion(aka InfinityAdmin).
The Infinity team has 4 members atm, but we are always looking for new talented artists.
Trust me, Infinity will stay alive ;) the people who work on infinity are mature and very professional.
Its still one of the best hl mods.:D Its a shame HL2 was on the way when they released, otherwise they would have got a lot of attention!
