I am able to read what he said, but thanks for repeating ;)
Yeah I remember that one, really cool concept!
I was looking at the vehicle guide and I was wondering, is the one wheeled vehicle still in the game?
Looks great! Tried to play it but at random times I wasn't able to select anything or click buttons, so wasn't able to play a lot.
I'm sure he knows what to do ;)
It's looking good
Thats great news!
you do? ;D I hope so! :D
yes a IndieDB/ModDB blog is a great idea!
Yes we use Unity
Yes, it's in the same level, thats why you see a lot of the same mushrooms. We are hard at work producing more game assets to add more variaty to our environments
Yes you can play the game in your webbrowser, our screenshots are taken in one.
Puzzle adventure gameplay and the player will get a lot of freedom (non-linear gameplay). Yes, there will be interaction with other players but we haven't announced anything about that yet.
We are currently in pre-alpha stage, getting our artwork ready, testing out different things, nothing is set in stone so thats why we have'nt revealed a lot about the gameplay yet.
So, was it worth it, the lightmapping? Ive played with it a little myself but the results where not what I was hoping for.
looking very good, nice artstyle!
nope ;) but nice try! :)
Thank you, and thats correct! ;)
I've never seen a pregnant Alvergast, so I can't tell ;)
I agree about those suggestions. These screenshots are made in an early test level, and do not represent what the final game will look like. Our main levels should all be underground, so no atmosphere, but we will definitely try to add more light and color to our environments. We also plan to 'play' with some nice particle effects to create floating mushroom spores that give off some light.
Fireflies and glowworms are planned too and will infact play a big role in our games. The player will have a pet glowworm that can evolve in a firefly later on. Those will light up the environment around the player, so they are never in the dark. This is what they will look like: Sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net
Thanks for your feedback!
Thank you for your support and encouragements, I appreciate it!
Thank you, we appreciate it!
No decisions have been made in that area, everything is possible. We do hope to earn some money with this in some way.
looking great, very nice artstyle!
Yes it is, but that’s exactly why we are doing this project! :)
There have been many education games, but most of the time they are not fun, that’s the main problem with these types of projects. We feel a game should always be fun, no matter what they are about. Most of the time the main problem is that those children know they are dealing with learning material, it's too obvious and not fun. They know they are being tested, and don't solve the problems because they want to but because they feel they have to, that’s not rewarding. You have to 'hide' it a bit and think about gameplay first.
They have been doing this for years with math riddles, trying to hide the boring 'math' in a story, to make it more interesting. Games are a great medium and give a lot of opportunities to do it better.
Yes, we are using the latest Unity version.
This already looked great before, but damn... !
Take your time, first impression is important!
Most people are too busy celebrating and playing games they got for Christmas anyway ;)
the first screenshot looked like a concept painting, great!
now I just have to wait for the mac release!
Not sure what its about, but the first concepts got me interested +watch
and also because I was able to see the photoshopping on that version and posted about it? Just like my other comments where deleted? (lucky I took screenshots)
Looks fantastic, as always! :)
impressive! A crane for the core on the contstrution site would be cool.
the flora in this game has always been amazing!!! Most of the time I'm not impressed by RTS graphics, but this one does!
omg dinoboat! ^^
So, it's like Infinity: The Quest for Earth?
Space exploration with lots of planets, seamless space/terrain transition, you can do what you want, no walking feature but vehicles are in, and it has a name with "The Quest For" in it, and you accept contribution work?
(not claiming it's a copy)
How will the Unreal Engine3 be able to generate those planets?
its not textured yet
so its still alive... great! ^^
its works now, great!
Maybe you could upload it to youtube and add a link to your newspost :)
This looks really great, nice work guys! Only thing I think looks wrong are the animations, they are lacking a bit. Make the animations look smooth and you have a winner (on graphics atleast)
Ill make a newspost about this soon.
I hope your creatures get colors like this ingame too.
So haven't you seen the gameplay vids? I'm not someone who complains a lot about games, and never have about Valve games but those gameplay vids look bad. The map looked bad and too right (daytime), characters look bland indeed. This looks more like an expantion or something, Hell, Im sure modders would come up with better stuff from what I've seen so far.
And just the short development time... you know that can't be good!
Also, I wa expecting a lot more content for the first one. I played L4D one week(maybe 2) because I got bored with the maps. I expected to get some more content like we get with every Vave game. If this is the amount of content they planned for the first it wasn't worth the money I payed for it!
I'm not going to buy the new one, probably not even if they make it better than the first.
you guys should get a section on gametrailers.com with those videos
Newspost comming soon ;)
You should be able to play Infinity on a medium-range computer when it gets released. Also, it's a game not a mod ;)
I hope this gets on steam! ;)
No, we are not going to release any demos with planet exploration.
Yes it will have some effect on your ship, Im sure lava will damage your ship if you get too close and your ship can get dirty when flying in an atmosphere of a planet.
We are not going for underwater environments so submarines are out, subterranean bases(tunnels, caves, bunkers, sewers,...) on the other hand will be in the game. We are aiming to get some Descent-like gameplay in Infinity.
Looks good! :)
So this is a game made by blind people to make everyone experience what it is to be blind?
Now thats original and very interesting, I'll be playing this!
I have a lot of respect for projects like this!
Also not a star trek fan but Ill definitely play this mod, looks great!
Never seen this before, looks very good but strange at the same time.
Not sure what to think of this but I'll defenetly try it!
Yes it's work in progress concept art.
I had a lot of fun with the demo, but didn't play it very long. Im defenetly going to download the 1.0 version, but Im not a big fan of the dystopia mapping.
Yeah it looks like it lags, still nice(and funny) trailer!
Piuneer, some things should be left for the full game ;)
Keep in mind this is a work in progress. Yes, it's not perfect. There are tons of little problems, parameters to adjust. Things will improve over time. And keep in mind it's yet another "tech" demo: even if it looks nice, it's far, extremely far from being more than a rendering prototype.
Very nice guys. First I didnt like this mod a lot, but now I do. Its looking very good!
Also, be carefull with the lightning on your textures, if the light is comming from the other side it would look strange.
Nice work, looks fun!
This is amazing! Maybe I can make a hud for you guys, but I have a lot of work already so Ill have to think about it.
They are lasers, they bounce off on reflective surfaces. Bullets dont bounce that way.
Ah cmon, its a great mod why cant they use it? After all its not about the music but about the mod!
People always have to be so negative :s
A lot of real stars like the sun will be in Infinity, Betelgeuze probably to.
The model is 7200 triangles, which means the scene weights a total of 7.2 MTris. Thanks to LOD, the per-frame polycount is closer to half a million polys.
