Looking good, great variation between the maps!
probably not enough ;)
How much? ;D
Only keeping comments you like, and deleting all the others is not going to give you a lot of fans. It's called "freedom of speech", what you do is "censoring". Have you ever seen any other serious developer do this? Deleting comments from people, just because you don't like them, will make people angry, you feed the trolls! If you don't want comments on your work, just don't show it to the public or don't use an open-community like moddb!
Start closed-development and when you are ready sart closed testing to get your feedback. In concept stage thats not needed anyway.
Yes this is my "feedback", but since its probably feedback you don't like its going to be deleted I guess?
Amazing, great to see the 'duvel' sign hasn't been changed! :D
so what about Sven co-op source? what happened to that?
I have both MAC and PC, and I don't feel "owned" by anyone.
any plans for a mac version?
Well since you plan to promote your puzzle mod by making us "think" I hope you can make the regular teasers/updates interesting enough to keep us puzzling with them. The first one looks very cool and intriguing already!
You've got my attention! ^^
Good luck with the project!
Interesting! Should we expect to see teasers on a regular basis, or will it take time?
It's not a mod. And no, no new videos.
Most of the work being done now is less eye-candy related
Yeah sure thing, not sure what's to be jealous about, but thats probably it!
Yeah but it feels a bit arrogant, to me.
I can understand projects making newsposts during this period especially to get some extra votes (I've done it too). But actually asking for it in the newpost and making it the newspost title is just not done imo (it's even in the thumbnail image!), those projects never get my vote.
So, now every moddb project has to make a newspost to ask for votes?
'walk' no, 'driving ground vehicles' probably :)
also, will you release a mac version too?
Not all the ships that get made for infinity will make it into the game. Also we have a lack of good texturers to give all those ships a nice texture, This is becoming a bit of a problem!
So we don't have that many finished ships for the game.
I have some teeth of this guy.
Looks very good!
Just like any unreleased mod/indie game on this website, like for example 'A Galaxy of War', isn't it?
ok sounds good :)
What about Top 5 Upcomming Indie Games?
Amazing what you are doing, it looks original, I love the setting and its so different from any other mod I've seen so far (both gameplay and visuals)
Well it’s still a tool just like the tools we modders have been using for years. The difference is this tool is so easy use that everyone can work with it. Does that make it less 'modding'? Where do we draw the line exactly? Is modding based on how difficult the tools are to use?
I see that you make a link with character creation you see in lots of games but it’s different. It’s a lot more complex and flexible and the creations are used in other people’s games and not restricted to your own game.
It’s funny but interesting to see that the line between modding and character creation is becoming very vague
looks amazing, so are those real animations or just static atm?
I study gamedesign (conceptial and game art)
Yeah I'll probably try it
Everyone is still trying all the new things, play some more; the mod is pretty balanced.
Well those are core parts of PVK (the original and PVK2), you can't just delete those from the mod. I guess you are new to PVK? ;)
Maybe when the ship is finished and has a real texture ;)
A great map for a great mod! :D
Geo-morphing isn't implemented yet, thats why you see the 'object popping'.
wow, this must be the most original mod for hl2!
And this baby has been modeled already too!
Thats what I call great teamwork ;)
I would love to see a vid of this, I wonder what the velociraptor looks like in action.
You will spend a large amount of time on the planets so ofcourse there will be a lot to do.
ex: You will be able to explore the surface of all the planets(minus gas giants) and it will be possible to find cities, ruins, primitive alien lifeforms,...
Space ships will be able to fight on the planets and we might add some ground vehicles too.
Thanks and yes its all work-in-progress. The rendering of water is extremely basic at this point, we've only created a simple shader that generates a per-pixel water normal by blending together 4 normal maps coming from perlin noise fBm.
As I said on the ES forums, amazing stuff!
thats amazing, It looks like COD2.
Yes this is what it looks like in-game
It will work, trust me
lol PanFrie those are not real lvl, just renders but it still looks very good!
great work, looks pro!
so you would hate paying for a game?
Ok great game-project and nice comic, but are you going to make a newspost for every comic page that gets released?
Don't get me wrong, I really like the work you guys do, and you deserve some media attention
but newsposts about comics is not mod/indie game related. I'd rather not have all the mod related news get bumped down for webcomic news and 5 newspost about the same "organic indie pack" was not needed either.
It's not getting me more excited about the game and the development of it, on the contrary.
Please keep things like this for profile news, so that people who really care and "watch" the game see it, but not for the front-page.
Yeah, wings are useless in space and shouldn't be on spaceships, they only have some use when you enter an atmosphere. We aim to make spaceship designs that not only look cool, but are also believable and functional for it's environment.
sounds great! :) Impressive engine you guys are using
But I mean the depth of field effect (aka blurry background), how will that be used in the game? :)
I think it looks a lot better ingame than in the renders!
Nice pose! I hope to see them navigate like that in the eventual game too (jumping on objects,...)
Looking great, nice lighting and depth of field effect. In what way will depth of field be used in the gameplay?
First: Great game!
Also: I would love to participate... after my examinations that just started
it has bumps
Nice contest, Divinity II: Ego Draconis is a very good game!
InfinityAdmin works for a virtual reality company in Brussels, close to where he lives. If he isn't programming for his work he is programming for Infinity. I've never seen anyone so dedicated to a project. The fact that this is his goal and main occupation for many years makes me confident that eventually the game will get finished and that he will never give up on it. Infinity is a part of his life, and of that of many people working on Infinity.
You can find a nice amount of documentation on our website, please check:
black holes will be in the game, entering one will mean "game over"
Yes it has been asked before.
If you have the money and resources to buy and maintain it, you'll be able to fly any type of ship, this includes 'capital' ships.
Not ingame, but I'll probably post an ingame shot of it (with textures) that look atleast as good as this hi-poly model render soon!
So what answer do you expect from me? ;)
Self-illumination maps are supported so windows will probably light up at night. Unfortunatly it's not possible to make city lights visible in space.
Yes you can land on planets, but you can't "walk" on the surface. You only controle spaceships in this game. The spaceships will have first person and third person view modes.
Yes you will be able to 'build' things on planets and even in space (spacestations).
One of my favorite concepts so far for this game. Really good!
Maybe because it's too lazy to run? ;)
they are giant chickens nonetheless xD with our without the small amount of feathers.
Yes you can expect weather on the planets and volcanos too. Supernovas are unlikely and if they occur will be part of the game story.
It isn't developed by one guy! It does have only one programmer, but he gets help from a small team of developers and a lot of contributors.
only thing I dont like is the name of the mod, but media looks ok ;)
so mac probably too?
now I just have to wait for the mac release!
well, it will always looks like something somehow...
Nope, I was like: "huh? what about extra content for the first one?"
Hype? Theres only 2 website we release information on; moddb and gamedev.net. Thats not what I call hyping.
No, check our videos.
The I-Novae engine used to create Infinity is far more advanced than the Celestia engine. Celestia doesn't have terrain, its not made to see planets in close-up.
Wow nice surprise, I know what I'll be voting on with the next MOTY awards! :D
