First Strike is a Star Wars total conversion modification for Battlefield 2142. The goal of First Strike is to totally immerse the players into the amazing universe of Star Wars by presenting the most accurate representations of famous Star Wars locales, weapons, and characters, and combining them with exciting, fast paced gameplay and features new to the Battlefield scene. Within this mod you'll find yourself as a soldier of the Galactic Empire or as a freedom fighter for the Rebel Alliance. You'll fight across lovingly detailed recreations of various Star Wars locations with a wide array of weapons and vehicles.

Greetings Troopers!
In SFX magazine's latest Special Edition (#60: The A-Z of Sci-fi Movies), First Strike's very own TALON (Harold Withers) appears in a full page and a bit spread under the section for 'F' on Fanatics, in which he of course takes the time to plug First Strike.
Check out the article here, the interviewer did get a few of his facts wrong and misquoted me a few times, most crucially where he gives the impression that First Strike isn't even out yet, but it is still a fun article.
Catch the magazine which is still on sale at all good newsagents for a nice fresh slice of First Strike in print, there are some nice free gifts included too so go out and grab a copy.

it loaded up the first time then I tried to play a multiplayer game and it just crashed :( and now when I try to load the mod it just says "BF2142.exe has stopped working" really need your help guys, because the only reason I bought the game was to play this mod :D
I've managed to get the menu you up now but I cant get the Single or multiplayer to work, keeps coming up with same message :(
Hi MR-BUGGLES, sorry to hear you're having trouble, most common issues with installation are related to getting the correct final updates for BF2142 as there were a few of them floating around, so check that is correct before anything else, and then I guess you need to make sure you have the correct version of FS too, but I imagine you have that. Your best bet is to look through this installation guide which covers most of the common problems and see if these relate to your issues.

I can't seem to get the mouse pointer to show up in the map menu. I run the game through a modified Battlefield 2142 shortcut instead of the dedicated exe or the launcher, since both of those crash whenever I run through them.
Nevermind, I didn't have my game patched. However, is there any way to unlock weapons for offline use. Anti-armor, sniper, and other weapons being locked when disconnected from the internet makes playing a lot harder.
Which maps support AI? I hope it isn't the 8-on-8 thing, like with vanilla Battlefield 2. I order Battlefield 2142 for this mod, and I play solo all of the time.
If you have the inclination and the know how you can get into the code and set the bot numbers to whatever your PC can handle. FSDev Twigs does this server side to customize the server to taste, but it is something you can do for singleplayer client side too. We've had some crazy numbers on the server, but obviously this can lead to issues for some people. However locally you can ramp it right up and have some mental battles.
Will be on tonight in a bit to celebrate the May the 4th weekend with a few First Strike battles so feel free to join me.
Good to see so many new people trying out the mod, will have to get some campaigns running again soon. Will not be so busy come the summer so should be able to organize something.
All Singleplay maps as well as any "conquest co-op" map in Multiplay. And at least one goes up to 32 vs 32 if I remember correctly.
