First Strike is a Star Wars total conversion modification for Battlefield 2142. The goal of First Strike is to totally immerse the players into the amazing universe of Star Wars by presenting the most accurate representations of famous Star Wars locales, weapons, and characters, and combining them with exciting, fast paced gameplay and features new to the Battlefield scene. Within this mod you'll find yourself as a soldier of the Galactic Empire or as a freedom fighter for the Rebel Alliance. You'll fight across lovingly detailed recreations of various Star Wars locations with a wide array of weapons and vehicles.
A second preview of some of the content being developed for the Battlefield 2142 Star Wars mod First Strike's most anticipated new map, The Battle of Hoth. This example features work in progress (WIP) in game footage, and was shot by FSDev Twigs.
Seriously, that is very impressive work.
This is the part where you got shot down right?
There are a few different shots of people getting taken out. I got shot down in one shot, but in another I'm the one doing the shooting and take out a Snowspeeder (only fair). I think I'm the one who takes out that speeder at the end of the movie.
; )
If you're talking about the still shot above, that is the Snowspeeder's own guns firing.
will there be a trailing cable to destroy the AT-ATs?
We'll have to see what we can come up with.
Awesome!
Binocular trooper says:
"Intel said one of them had Crocs!"
Constructive criticism alert!: The animations of the walker legs are as good as they can possibly get but when they walk, their feet seem to be sliding across the ground in random directions.
P.S. can you make the screen shake when near the AT-AT's after each step the walkers take?
We'll be fixing that issue, as it says, it is a work in progress.
Not sure about the camera shake for each foot fall (though it would be a nice effect), it would have to be a localised event within a certain range of the Walker's feet, and I'm not even sure the engine has any code to support such an effect, but I could be wrong.
You can set an explosion effect which usually has camera shake up to certain ranges.
AMAZING
I was sold when I heard the X-Wing vs. Tie-Fighter music. :D
Target maximum firepower. ;)
