Hello Black Mesa fans!
We come to you once again with an update. It's now the end of 2009, and we know many of you have literally counted the days down until this fateful month. We are floored by the level of support you have given us and are very excited we're so close to reaching our goal.
Unfortunately, to our great disappointment, Black Mesa will not make a 2009 release.
Cynics may now rejoice, bets may be collected, and I think a mod team member has to eat his shoe, but we hope our loyal fans will forgive us and realize that the delay will translate into a better final product that's (hopefully) more easily available to everyone.
Once again we apologize for what has to be very disappointing news. We placed a 2009 deadline on ourselves to motivate us and bring this 6 year project to a close. And while we didn't quite make it, we have come very close and you can expect a complete, polished game to hit your hard drives in the near future. We'll be sure and update if anything changes. Until then, hang tight, it's coming!

One day... one day it will be done, then I can die happily
Dude, just play HL1 with all the nerdy HD enhancements because this will undoubtedly disappoint. It is a remake after all.
Why exactly does it have to disappoint? It's already fulfilled it's goal, to recreate one of the most iconic FPS' in history in a newer engine.

I'd be glad to pay for this my money. Of course, they cannot charge price for this mod.
They couldn't directly, although, as has happened in the past with Gunman Chronicles, Valve could greenlight publishing the mod as a stand alone game via another interested game developer. However, since this is much more directly tied into the original Half Life, I don't see that happening. Valve would want to publish it themselves either as a standalone or as a boxed bonus with another Valve game. The likelihood of that happening is directly related to how good this mod will be. If it's of the quality you expect from a published game, both in length and content, that likelihood is high. You'd also have to take into account the creators of the mod and what their goals are for the future. If they're entering the job market as adults and are pursuing a job in the gaming field....well, a published game would be a big deal on a job resume.
Dude just shut your frickin mouth.
You are obviously not a true game developer, all you seem to care about is making money.
You must work for EA.
Lets say that i would make a game: I would keep the price reasonable (lets say... 20-30€. 50-60€ would be for way larger games, and even then it would go for example to quality assurance group, which evidently rarely does it´s job well / at all.), and the support + possible new content are included in the price tag.

Ohh do it yourself: work for iii Ey (EA)!
NOPE, never!
And the only thing you all can do is,
to justify each and every procedure of Modifications and Games.

I know that they never give a look on this page!
Same as many other big projects.
hope they lose all the development material
and the related status of BMS(=DNF) XD

or realese it on 2030!
I think that's the best time to release a stonehenge. XD
They're like the teams who worked on DNF.
They all wanted to achieve their goals and were therefore never finished!
