Run. Think. Shoot. Live. Source.
Black Mesa is the Half-Life 2 total conversion of the original Half-Life game. Utilizing the Source engine and its endless array of possibilities and powers, Black Mesa will throw you into the world that started the Half-Life continuum and introduced Gordon Freeman to the world as a gun-toting, bullet-dodging Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics.
Black Mesa was built and founded on the principle that Half-Life: Source did not do the original title enough credit, regardless of the true intentions laid out with the release of Half-Life: Source by Valve Software. Subsequently in November 2004, Black Mesa was founded and set out to reconstruct the original title, giving it the new environments, models, and abilities it deserved on the Source engine. This total conversion will not require Half-Life: Source installed on your system to play, only a legitimate and working version of Half-Life 2. At the present time, Valve Software is not associated or involved with the development of this project.
Here is a small list of planned features of Black Mesa:

Hello Black Mesa fans!
We come to you once again with an update. It's now the end of 2009, and we know many of you have literally counted the days down until this fateful month. We are floored by the level of support you have given us and are very excited we're so close to reaching our goal.
Unfortunately, to our great disappointment, Black Mesa will not make a 2009 release.
Cynics may now rejoice, bets may be collected, and I think a mod team member has to eat his shoe, but we hope our loyal fans will forgive us and realize that the delay will translate into a better final product that's (hopefully) more easily available to everyone.
Once again we apologize for what has to be very disappointing news. We placed a 2009 deadline on ourselves to motivate us and bring this 6 year project to a close. And while we didn't quite make it, we have come very close and you can expect a complete, polished game to hit your hard drives in the near future. We'll be sure and update if anything changes. Until then, hang tight, it's coming!

Stop Begging on them, etc etc etc
---------------------
Unless the Black Mesa team has hired you as their spokesman, stop wasting your time trying to tell people what their opinion should be.
Possibly you may be accustomed to calling that sort of thing "begging", but in most other parts of the world, it's called an "opinion".
Maybe stop brown-nosing long enough to appreciate that much?
Many others, besides just you, have followed the progress of this mod since it's beginnings, also, and are familiar with the scenario, but we don't imagine ourselves as some sort of self-elected forum spokesman, thank you.
People have a right to express impatience with delays when they have been led to believe otherwise, and personally, it's not something I intend to seek your permission for, now, or at any time in the future.
My opinion remains, that it would have been a professional concession to have provided a playable first level mod when they saw the delay coming.
- Like many others; such as "Strider Mountain" have done before.
So what? That doesn't imply anything isn't appreciated.
Relax. I'm sure we'll somehow manage without your 'supervision'.

The Problem is not how long the Black Mesa will released. It is the valve of Source Engine Upgrade if that happened Black Mesa also must follow because since a lot of people like the modern Engine but until now I only know another modification of Development group of City 17: Episode One knowns as GEAR have that kind of Source Engine Upgrade. They announce it a few days ago but still not official to release yet since their project haven't release.
Will there be a Xen in Black Mesa?
its an complete conversion from HL1 so there will be Xen and it will be awesome: Forums.blackmesasource.com
People get so offended if you say something like this, even if your just trying to lighten people up for Christmas or say something funny like, "Will there be a Xen in Black Mesa?" They will just spit in your face and issue bad karma. You want my advice, "you guys need to lighten up!"
of course not. why would they have xen in a half life remake.

demo, or singing g-man would be sexy. Or some media released about this fabled rabid monkey the computer mentions that your not allowed to feed on the tram?
But because i need something to tie me over before valve sweeps in and charges 20$ to play BM:S.....
wait i meant you guys release the game.......
please dont let this mod turn out like nuclear dawn. i doubt you guys have that intention, but Valve might (or may already have) make you a very generous offer.
For all we know thats why it's been delayed...
"Or some media released about this fabled 'rabid monkey' the computer mentions that your not allowed to feed on the tram?"
