Run. Think. Shoot. Live. Source.
Black Mesa is the Half-Life 2 total conversion of the original Half-Life game. Utilizing the Source engine and its endless array of possibilities and powers, Black Mesa will throw you into the world that started the Half-Life continuum and introduced Gordon Freeman to the world as a gun-toting, bullet-dodging Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics.
Black Mesa was built and founded on the principle that Half-Life: Source did not do the original title enough credit, regardless of the true intentions laid out with the release of Half-Life: Source by Valve Software. Subsequently in November 2004, Black Mesa was founded and set out to reconstruct the original title, giving it the new environments, models, and abilities it deserved on the Source engine. This total conversion will not require Half-Life: Source installed on your system to play, only a legitimate and working version of Half-Life 2. At the present time, Valve Software is not associated or involved with the development of this project.
Here is a small list of planned features of Black Mesa:
This mod is not dead, we are still hard at work on it.

The crew at Black Mesa is proud to present our latest media release! Here at moddb you'll find a fraction of over 60 new pieces of media that can be seen at our new website, Blackmesasource.com
After almost a year of media silence, the Black Mesa Team is proud to present what we have been working on during that long period of time. All of our older media has been replaced with updates, just days old. We have finally picked winners from the community projects in our Public Forums, have updated our FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) to reflect new questions, and have updated our Job list with new positions.
We are excited to be presenting you with new content in almost every area. We hope to never again have a period of time where media and updates are scarce. And to prove it to you, we've got "Stage 2" of the current media release coming up before the end of December. Keep your eyes open for that!
And finally, the 5th annual Mod of the Year Competition is now underway at Moddb. Going on now until December 14th, voting for the best 100 mods is underway. And then from December 15th to January 1st, the community will select the top 3 mods from a list of 100. In our downloads section, you will find several different pictures you can place in your signature on various forums. Clicking on the pictures will register a vote for Black Mesa!
Remember to visit Blackmesasource.com for lots more media, more news, updates, downloads, music, and more!

Only registered members can share their thoughts. So come on! Join the Mod DB community today (totally free) and do things you never thought possible.
No, they need to release an update that says
"SHUT THE HELL UP"
It solves both problems. People know the mod isn't dead and it helps display the common hatred for the idiots who come on here and complain about updates.
the last update was at xmas last year!!! they need to let people know that they are progressing with the mod!
THE FUCKING D-E-V-B-L-O-G.
IT'S NOT A FUCKING DECORATION, IT ACTUALLY CONTAINS SOME NEWS, WOHOO!
You need to chill. Don't you have anything better to do? I mean come on! It's just a game (that doesn't exist) and you're making it out to look as if it's you're own child. Ohhh boo hoo stop picking on my precious.
This game has fallen off the radar because of bad PR. The mod's have no one but themselves to blame.
And the shitfaces like you that can't comprehend the concept of a devblog. It isn't bad PR, it is not using moddb as their primary mod promotion website.
A devblog that shows no progress. What a concept!
And are you seriously 28? I bet you're overweight too.
Cock... the latest devblog-article introduces the alien controller.
(more accurately, the controller's movement system.)
If you really can't read the devblog, do one of the following things:
a) get out.
b) take a knife, and cut your throat. (simple minded people aren't needed, you know.)
Owned ;)
No matter how many times you flame COCK_COCK_COCK and other people like him, it will never work. People like him will never get it through there heads. They are to stupid to see that even though the mod updates slowly it's not dead. And if the mod isn't dead why complain, it doesn't make any sense to me. When this mod reaches the finale stage, people like COCK_COCK_COCK will feel really stupid for the retarded comments that they post, (saying the mod is dead and complaining about updates). MOD ISN'T DEAD. And we don't say check the dev blog as a goddam joke, they update that more resently than media, and there is a few weeks old update in there, and if the mod was dead they wouldn't update anything, now would they?
AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
