I'm an avid FPS player from the desolate state known as Iowa. Currently, I'm attending the University of Iowa as a religious studies major. My favorite games are CSS, CoD4, UT2004, and UT3. If you run across me online while enjoying one of these games (my moniker is usually "The Watchmaker") say hi; I'm friendly... I swear... My most recent single-player game completed is: Amnesia: The Dark Descent (scariest. game. ever.)

Crap, I want to change one line again but don't want to repost the whole thing. Instead of: "And with one shot from my awp, I quickly filled his empty head" It should be: "And with a bullet from my awp, I kindly filled his empty head". Guess it doesn't really matter. RoboTyphoon, I'm enjoying this, but I will not bury you for your opinions.

(A slight re-edit I didn't save in time.) :P
While pubbing on some server, a couple friends and me
We were all placed terrorist while the pub's clan played CT
The map was always dust2 cause that's all they seemed to know
Not that I'm complaining, but I wish they'd give us dough
Like they seemed to give themselves just about every other round
Guess it was spite that made us stay, or a fun fact we had found
You see, they seemed to suck, not a little, but a lot
And to us that's entertaining, but to them, well, probably not
For after a couple rounds they switched "Ned" to our side
He was good at absolutely nothing, he just spawned, ran, and died
This was especially apparent after we successfully rushed B
Killing the CT's all around, not losing a single T
While our team was victorious securing the bombsite in its palm
We had failed to notice that at spawn "Ned" threw the bomb
Growing tired of this server and sick of this n00b clown
We all headed back to start where we promptly got mowed down
But before my death was final I turned and placed my reticle on "Ned"
And with one shot from my awp, I quickly filled his empty head
It's fun TK memories like this that fill my mind with glee
Which is why I ask you now if I could have the new game's key

I don't know why you guys can't just draw names for this game.
When it comes to rhyming words I find it tedious and lame.
But what the hell, I'll enter something, what else can be done?
But when your favorites are selected I can bet this won't be one.
But if I am selected you can count on me for sass,
Cause I won a stupid contest goin' all Suess-y on your ***.

Great choices Editors! Well done! I especially agree with your best multiplayer and best singleplayer picks. I convinced all my roommates to buy Frozen Synapse, and we have been playing it nonstop since. As for To the Moon, I have never cried while playing a video game before, a feat this game accomplished not once but twice.

This is idiotic. How arrogant do you have to be to make the blanket statement, "We have determined our technology too advanced for all modders, only our people are skilled enough to use this new engine"? If you don't want to release your technology with the game for business reasons then don't, but please don't make stupid, unproven, and quite frankly condescending statements to justify your decisions.

Beautiful looking mod, guys. Never understood why more mod teams didn't "take with permission" outside people's already-made models and animations. There's a lot of stuff out there worth taking. (Yeah, I know. They want to do it all themselves and not be perceived as lazy, but properly implemented, someone else's work, even if designed for a completely different purpose, can be brought to a state of near perfection alongside your own.) Definitely tracking this mod. Good stuff, good stuff indeed.

I have only one suggestion for this otherwise exemplary-looking mod: you should give Wilson (the player) a different starting weapon than a crowbar. It's just too much like "the one Freeman" in my opinion. You might already have done so, but I saw a crowbar in the trailer so I'm assuming you didn't.

A wrench, a knife, a pipe, a baseball bat, an axe, a metallic crank of some kind, a baton, a hammer, maybe even something akin to brass knuckles on his fists, or the butt of the weapon he's using, anything really. I feel there's already too many surviving scientists running around Black Mesa with crowbars.

Note, I'm being very picky here and will download and play your mod regardless.

This mod reminds me of Red Baron 3D (an old, old WWI dogfight game I used to play online), and not just because it's a WWI flight simulator. The music during plane selection, the color palette, the particular sound of the gunfire, it all brings back warm fuzzy memories of getting shot out of the sky countless times by pilots much better (and more patient) than I. Did you use RB3D as a source of inspiration?

I'm definitely tracking this mod. Too nostalgic not to.

Although I agree with the "Too short campaign" and "Too short maps" critiques, I'm personally not going to take off points for those just yet. The solution was given away with the game, and I would stake money on the notion that in a month or so, we'll have more custom campaigns than we'll know what to do with. By that point our problem won't be that the experience was too short, it'll be figuring out which campaigns are worth playing balls-deep in same-y crap map packs (for reference, see any game ever that released a custom mapping tool). Thank God for review sites.

(and for those of you who were fans of the original ut2004 mod like myself, I almost guarantee those campaigns will be remade. My hope is that the developers themselves will do it)

If it's like it's predecessor, which I believe it will be, than it will have both a campaign co-op mode and a "select a mission" co-op mode. As for how long the game will be, it took me and my friends a LONG time to beat some of the mod edition's missions set on a harder mode, but if you set everything on the easiest difficulty and just run through, a couple hours at least, I'd think. Never tried it though. Didn't want to ruin the surprises for when we LAN co-oped.

I loved AS from ut2004, and I thought this long promised sequel (formerly known as "Alien Swarm: Infested") was long dead... I'm incredibly excited that I was wrong. Looks beautiful.

My goodness, what you people seem to want is another Halo, Quake, Counter-Strike, or Half-Life where all shots are perfectly straight and no close explosion phases the shooter ever (a trait carbon copied by the vast majority of fps mods out there). No (or minimal) screenshake may make for an easier gaming experience, but it's been done to the point where you see FPS: Terminator and immediately think it's a mistake.

Wait till after it's released in some form, if integrated into the game correctly, screenshake could make for one hell of an intense (not to mention more realistic) experience, and I wish more games would consider implementing it. So far it's just different than the norm you're use to; it's yet to be meaningfully considered a mistake. Since they obviously did it on purpose, allow the Dev Team some license and see what becomes of it.

I actually really like the idea of having the screen that shaky. Adds to the intensity in my opinion. Also, it's not something I've seen done to that extent before, and I'm curious to give it a try.

Cool looking mod, good luck with the demo release.
