The Ball is an indie singleplay action/puzzle game, running on Unreal Engine 3, for PC. The expected release date is spring 2010. The project started out as a mod for UT3, but has since gone stand alone.

The Ball is an innovative action adventure game with six hours of singleplayer gameplay.
Playing from a first person perspective, you solve puzzles and crush monsters with a large physics driven ball, manipulated by the pushing and pulling forces of an ancient device.
As an archaeologist working on the slopes of a dormant volcano somewhere in Mexico, you get stuck in an underground Cavern. It doesn't take long before you realize this is more than just a cave. You reveal ancient ruins that have been hidden from outsiders for centuries and discover a mysterious artifact, a gold and metal shelled Ball. As you venture deeper into the volcano, you reveal some of mankind's greatest secrets...

will the commercial version be the UT3 mod just extended? or is it all new maps and new story line?
Same story but many new areas and features will be added, and a lot of parts will be improved.

This mod is REALLY good and very expansive.
Some environments are huge and the whole thing looks and feels great.
Who'd of thought UT3 would end up being this essential.

We are changing a lot of areas for the full game to make it even bigger, and especially, to make it more coherent. Fewer long corridors, more variation, more suspension building, more destructible stuff to roll over with the ball. And so on. We are really changing quite a lot of areas. The second level Oztoc, we just deleted half of that level and replaced it with all new material including a train ride, a train station, a puzzle involving oil, a new mummy introduction, and so on :)
Wow, the train ride sounds great.
I did LOVE the expansive feel of the final level with the lava (sry forgot the name) where you have to drive the vehicle down into the jaws of satan,through the lava then on to the castle.
It felt massive and there was a sense of awe in terms of height and area size. REAL nice.
I hope things go well for you guys as this is shaping up to be a sleeper hit on the indie scene. I already have my credit card waiting.
