I'm an avid FPS player from the desolate state known as Iowa. Currently, I'm attending the University of Iowa as a religious studies major. My favorite games are CSS, CoD4, UT2004, and UT3. If you run across me online while enjoying one of these games (my moniker is usually "The Watchmaker") say hi; I'm friendly... I swear... My most recent single-player game completed is: Amnesia: The Dark Descent (scariest. game. ever.)
Got four of my friends, four controllers, and a giant screen together for a day to play this game. We had a blast. Not much fun by myself though.
I guess it was a bit too short for my liking, and I also didn't like the factory theme that developed over time. I felt the game did better in the jungle with the scary things that hunt you. Overall, it was well worth the experience though.
Ultimately some of the mechanics of this game proved too exploitable for my tastes. Besides the stellar soundtrack I was left with an overall "blah" feeling.
Some of the best money I've ever spent was buying a four pack of this during a steam sale. It's still the favorite LAN game in my community of friends. Better objectives and secrets than Minecraft, somehow less memorable. Oh well, not going to take points off a game because it's not Minecraft.
Okay, okay... one more try...
This game brought me back to my quake trick jumping days, but then I grew bored because there wasn't any rocket jumping.
Stunning. Not a great deal of innovation over the mod though, so I couldn't give it a perfect score. But this is my new "chill" game.
Judging by the many games I have going right now, including a few against some of my closest friends. And also considering that my finger nails are very short as my tense decision time reaction is to bite them. I feel that this game has accomplished all of it's goals and then some. Fantastic game.
Best twin-stick shooter of all time. (<-period) I uninstalled all my other twin-sticks after playing this. If this genre is your thing, and you don't own this game yet, you need to get this. It's imperative that you do.
