Intro
Hey there! Welcome to this week's roundup of the YouTube, where RPG mods won the day and we got stuck in with a historical total conversion mod. Let's get into it!
Monday - Shorts - Morrowind Rebirth
For some, it may be easy to discount The Elder Scrolls' first mainline 3D entry in favour of the more well-known Oblivion and Skyrim - but this mod makes it apparent such a decision is a grave error! Rebirth proves the classics can still bat with the best, provided some dedicated polish and additional content.
Total conversions for Warband are a favourite, placing you in the shoes of adventurers from your favourite franchises. Rarer is the total conversion makes a start in their own universe. Perisno's totally original world, story, and units immerse players in a world that is, for once, new in every sense of the word.
Generals is already a standout in the C&C line-up, separate from the near-future sci-fi of the mainline Tiberium games. So it is that it makes a remarkable transition into a period often explored in games of all shapes and sizes - the Second World War - with new mechanics that up the ante of any strategist.
It's no exaggeration to say Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines wouldn't be where it is today without the Unofficial Patch. Nigh-singlehandedly rendering an unplayable mess into one of the great hidden masterpieces of the early 2000s, Wesp5's commitment is legendary, and an example to us all.
That's all for this round-up. What do you think about the mods listed? Feel free to discuss below and check out the YouTube for more videos past, present, and future!
Nice selection of mods. I like watching these shorts.
Glad you enjoy! They've been doing reasonably well - some blow up due to the algorithm, some stay quieter, but the engagement is up by quite a lot and it's giving me lots more chances to promote and try out mods. As of this week I've started factoring IndieDB formally into the video schedule instead of just in a trailer capacity, so if you wanted to see what's going on in the indie side of things too, that'll be something to look forward to from this week onwards.
Thanks for showcasing Perisno, my favorite Warband mod. :)
If I knew how to model, I'd help you with new units for WWII.
