Install instructions:
(0. Download and install the base mod The Elder Scrolls Total War 2.0 (Full Version) + The Elder Scrolls Total War 2.0.1.(unless you have it already))
Of course, you need to apply 4GB patch or LAA patch to your medieval2.exe and kingdoms.exe as well. LINK
1. Go into your The_Elder_Scrolls/data and delete the whole "world" folder"!
2. Download and install Unofficial Patch 2.0 for TES FINAL, and extract it into your Medieval II Total War/mods folder, so that it merges with your previously installed base mod TES TW 2.0.1 (you will know that you are doing it correctly if it asks you to overwrite, hit yes).
3. Download and extract the Unofficial Patch for TES 2.0.1 into your mods folder, so that it merges with The_Elder_Scrolls folder. And overwrite. If it doesnt ask you to, you are not doing it properly.
4. You must use "TES UP" launcher to play the mod, other launchers will not work. Once the launcher opens, make sure that "full loging" and "creatures fix" are disabled, then "apply changes" and choose "Start Mod"
5. You are ready to play!

If you are experiencing frequent end turn crashes, the issue is very likely on your end! Try disabling your antivirus while playing. Running the game in compatibility mode and as administrator may fix it, see the tips below!

- New unique late game missions for Mages and Fighters Guild, requirement is a sufficient guild rank (you need the highest level of the guild building) and polished some missions rewards.
- Joining the "evil" side final testament - If you choose to support the necromancers via Necromancers Guild, (and thus oppose the "good" side) once you build the highest lvl of Necromancers Guild, you may let Mannimarco join you and recruit more undead units, however significantly damaging relationship with other factions and some other guilds.
- Improved Molag Bal (Three Banners Wars) and Mehrunes Dagon (Oblivion Crisis) events
- Added missing strat custom models for generals from TES TW 2.0
- New armour upgrades to a few imperial/altmer units and more officeers to imperial units. Several more new units cards.
- Fixed plenty of bugs dicovered in the BETA. Most importantly - long turn times, too passive AI due to dungeons, loadig saves crashes, ability to upgrade settlements, missing unit models, new Telvanni generals, reachmen invisible banners, etc.... oh, and most importantly, fixed the bugged Arion Telvanni portrait! :D
- AI can never fully ignore dungeons, but they should be now ignoring it much more. Its stil
affecting them sightly (keeping stronger garisons around) so in case you would want to make the AI slightly more agressive, you can destroy the dungeon faction via "kill_faction papal_states" command, but you would then loose dungeon missions.
Your saves from BETA or hotfixes are not compatible with this FINAL release.
In case the launcher settings change for some reason, I show below the setting you ought to have (left upper doesnt matter, left bottom matters significantly, and the one the right side is more or less optional, only berserks fix required from those). But definitely keep full logging disabled.
Tips for fixing crashes and performance
If you crash upon launching the game, you probably failed to follow install instructions so try again. (4GP patch is a must, apply it to both, medieval2.exe and kingdoms.exe). 4GB Patch can also various issues when playing the mod.
Try disabling your antivirus while playing.
Running the mod as an administrator may resolve various issues, so always try that, as well as changing your compatibility mode in medieval2.exe. - LINK
You may also try to disable your UAC, for some people it does miracles - LINK
You can also try giving the mod launcher an exception in your antivirus program, or disabling the antivirus entirely for the time you play.
If you crash upon loading saves/starting campaigns, try running a quick/custom battle first.
If you have low FPS, try to turn off shadows, decrease unit size, or decrease your graphics in general and give high priority to Medieval II in Task Manager. If you have lags/lows FPS, you can try this TOOL.
If you have steam overlay enabled, it should help with performance greatly, if you disable it.
KNOWN BUGS
I didnt have energy to fix the voices, they are incorrectly assigned to some factions. However, you can fix it yourself by deleting "events.idx" and "events.dat" in The_Elder_Scrolls/sounds, but unfortunately it makes other sounds not work (like the ones in menu or when you hit end turn), while the music still works fine. So up to you if you want to do this trade before I provide a proper working fix to this, that will be in 2.0.1.
As its packed with new content, its also naturally expectable that there will be lot of bugs and and stuff to fix. So in case you encounter any bugs, please report it, so we can fix it for the 2.0.1. Also, if you have crashes, you can send the crashing save or or log.txt file from The_Elder_Scrolls/logs

Did everything by instruction, checked settings in launcher but it doesn't work - medieval opens for a moment and closes, despire 2.0.1 version did work well, so do all other mods.
Have you checked with the install video whether you did everything correctly?
Yes, exactly like in the video, twice - last time I reinstalled 2.0.1 original from scratch as well to be sure.
Guild units aren't working right, everything is being granted but the ability to recruit the units. Says you can recruit them if you inspect the building but after waiting the turn the mission tells you too they can't be recruited and they are no longer present while inspecting the building.

So I think there may be something wrong with the Stormcloak Rebellion campaign, something causes it to crash at the end of turn change typically on Minor factions or the Dungeon one(Unspecified Error). Six different starts now it's happened, likes to happen on turn 2 though highest turn is 9, repeatable on that file that it has happened to. This is playing as the Stormcloaks.
Not related to 4gb patch I believe, have an Imp campaign (Oblivion Crisis) that's going on with no problems.
Edit: Did some testing, got to turn 7 decided to reload save from previous turn because reasons, hit end turn and crash. Tried another save then crash as well (all same campaign mind you). Decided to make another go at it and go five turns and make 1 save per turn, each save crashes if you load them in. Started another and did absolutely nothing but hit end turn, went to turn 18 and made save then went two more turns and made another. Reloaded first save, crash at end of turn change then I reloaded the other and crash of course. Maybe something wrong with a script or something that gets effected when you reload save?
I dont know, sorry for the issue, tho weird nobody else reported it but Ill check in once I have time... the next update will be in a few weeks...

I'm also having the same problem
I think I've now tried this about 15 times with the old versions and the new. Each time I get to running the "TES UP" application, I get two error messages that say "XINPUT1_3.dll" and "d3dx9_43.dll" have not been found and that I cannot run the application. It appears that only I am having this issue, but I honestly can't figure out why despite some (at this point) extreme efforts.
Does anyone know what these files are, how I preserve them, and/or why this issue is occurring?
I have no issue running TES 2.0 with its patch. Or any other mod for Med2.

Followed all instructions to the letter, replaced files and I already have the link installed but I'm getting the unexpected error mod when I try to launch through TES UP aplication.. any ideas?

Do not ask me how or why but I tried again after being up until 2am getting that error message before giving up and I just tried again this morning without doing anything after posting that comment and its now running fine.. Im so happy aha thanks for replying to me tho man cant wait to get into the mod and give it a go!
Update: Mod looks really cool and the dungeon and guild ideas are interesting, the only problem is I experience crashes in every campaign after the first turn (grand campaingn, Oblivion Crisis ect)

Everything was followed to the letter, from deleting the world folder to reading this thread to watching the youtube videos, replacing the files downloading and installing directX and following your visual guide on the start screen to ensure the settings are applied correctly, ensuring the exe files are present and patched and making sure the cfg file matches, other people are reporting the same issue, I think it's a cool mod it's just a bit of constructive criticism I think you do fantastic work

the people are reporting this for the 4th era campaigns, where it truly happens (generally not during a first turn but a few turns later), hence I recommended people to not play 4th era campaigns until I release the next patch, which will be quite soon.
Other campaigns however dont have any irreversible crashes like that, so they are playalbe :)
