New hotfix 2.0.3 of the mod has been released, bringing major fixes to the official 2.0.2. version of Unofficial Patch.
This hotfix by default doesnt include EOP features, therefore USE The_Elder_Scrolls.bat or TESTW Launcher.exe to play the mod, definitely NOT TES UP.exe launcher. If you want to play with the full features (EOP features), use the switchers that are part of the hotfix. Intructions on how to switch are there.

Unofficial Patch 2.0.3 for The Elder Scrolls

- Fix to end turn crash in Oblivion Crisis and Stormcloak campaigns (I acccidentally assigned wrong files in the previous hotfix, so these two campaigns were unplayable)
- Fix to crashing akavari general (fixed his name)
- Added Unit Descriptions Tool to the mod (unit unfo now gives more practical info about unit stats)
- Fixed the missing space after "Legio" label for imperial/akavri units, and changed it to "Legion" (EOP only)
- Fixed the missing texture for Dres Bodyguard
Install instructions
Due to the numerous issues that people had with running the mod with EOP tool, THE HOTFIX BY DEFAULT DOESNT INCLUDE EOP FEATURES (the info on EOP is below the install instructions), therefore USE The_Elder_Scrolls.bat or TESTW Launcher.exe to play the mod, definitely NOT TES UP.exe launcher. If you want to play with the full features (EOP features), use the switchers that are part of the hotfix. Intructions on how to switch are there.
However, you can use this hotfix no matter which version (with, or without EOP) are you using currently. Neverthless, your saved game will not be compatible either way.
0. If you have a previous version of this path or the main mod, i.e., 2.0 or 2.0.1., you need to delete it first and start over.
1. Download and install The Elder Scrolls 2.0.2 Standalone. Of course, you need to apply 4GB patch or LAA patch as well, its located in your TES folder.
2. Go into your The_Elder_Scrolls/data and delete the whole "world" folder"! Otherwise your start campaign menu will be all messed up.
3. Download and install TES Unofficial Patch 2.0.2 by extracting it into your mods folder. You will know you are doing it correctly when it asks you to overwrite files, hit yes. This applies for both version, FULL and without EOP. (You dont need 2.0.2 HOTFIX anymore!)
4. Download this hotfix TES Unofficial Patch 2.0.3, and etract it into your mod The_Elder_Scrolls folder. You will know you are doing it correctly when it asks you to overwrite files, hit yes.
5. You are ready to play!
To launch, use the "The_Elder_Scrolls.bat" or "TESTW Launcher.exe", not "TES UP.exe", unless you switch to full features version
This version doesnt have these features that are enabled by EOP ("FULL FETURES") - Alchemy Crafting, increased ancillaries limit, Oblivion Gate Travel (in Oblivion Crisis Scenario), 3 new religions (Maormer, Akavir and Eight Divines), increased required build points for sieges, berserk attributes for some units, ...
If you wish to enable them, use the swithers to enable FULL Features version

If you are having issues, such as being unable to launch or having frequent crashes, read the download thread to see tips, there are several ones that will help you. You should be definitely able to run the version with no issues, hence if ther are frequent crashes and similar issues, its likely on your end, see the tip below.
The download also includes SWITCHERS. If you wamt to try full features (EOP version), you can use the switchers to change your version into FULL FEATURES EOP version. The instructions on that are in each archive, called READ ME. The saves from before you switch are not going to be compatible.
(If you have already downloaded the mod, you download just the switchers, the links are in the comments. You can use the switchers as many times you want, to switch forth and back.
(the video doesnt include the switchers, but otherwise the order of doing things is pretty much the same)
Tips for fixing crashes and performance
(TRY THIS IF YOU ARE HAVING ISSUES PLEASE)
( EOP ONLY - EOP tool has a trouble with some antivirus programs. Therefore, you might have to give the tool an exception from your antivirus program, or disable it entirely when playing. The Antivirus incompatability is responsible for frequent crashes in the game, as well for removing the launcher!
Engine Overhaul Project is entirely safe! Your antivirus might flag it just because it modifies the game.
In case the launcher settings change for some reason, I show below the setting you ought to have (left upper doesnt matter, left bottom matters significantly, and the one the right side is more or less optional, only berserks fix required from those). But definitely keep full logging disabled.

TIPS FOR EVERYONE
(no matter if you have Full or Without EOP version)
If you crash upon launching the game, you probably failed to follow install instructions so try again. (4GP patch is a must, apply it to both, medieval2.exe and kingdoms.exe). 4GB Patch can also various issues when playing the mod.
If you cant launch the game, also see if your medieval2.exe and kindoms.exe launcher are of the same size. If not, delete kingdoms.exe, make a copy of medieval2.exe and name it kingdoms.exe (both launchers should be 19 212 kB)
Running the mod in compatibility mode (usually with Win 7) is going to fix numerous end turn crashes! so always try setting that in your medieval2.exe and kingdoms.exe in case you are having crashes - LINK
(secondarily, you can also try setting the medieval2.exe to run as administrator (but not kingdoms.exe, that crashes upon launch))
If you crash upon loading saves/starting campaigns, try running a quick/custom battle first.
If you have low FPS, try to turn off shadows, decrease unit size, or decrease your graphics in general and give high priority to Medieval II in Task Manager. If you have lags/lows FPS, you can try this TOOL.
If you have steam overlay enabled, it should help with performance greatly, if you disable it.
Features - 2.0.3 HOTFIX
In this version I mainly focused at fixing bugs and balancing, rather than adding new features...
- Fixed several causes of crashes during end turns. Therefore, the campaigns should now be much more stable.
- Balancing to starting positions and economy of factions - Increased trade, replaced non upkeep starting units,...
- Improvement to AI (new version of Skynet. Credits to z3n). Added custom recruitment and building characterics to all fations based on the newly published new list.
- Fixed all the remaining issues with unit textures - Mostly missing armour upgrades for general bodyguards, mythic dawn, etc
- Fixed the issue with custom settlements Windhelm, Markarth, Solitude (and other) incorrectly showing up for some citadels and huge cities in battles.
- Dragons are now (finally) spawning correctly ( in Second and Fourth Era).
- Fixed the issue, when the game let you recruit guild units eventhough you failed a mission.
- Undead units now move slower at battlefield.
- Settlement towers power decreased slightly. Time to hold city plaza decreased to 10 minutes.
- Added legio naming of units feature (for the Imperial Legion)
- Masters of Mage are now recruitable
- Ashlanders can now recruit some of their cav units from Ashlanders Tribal Council.
- Nerevarine can now spawn for the Ashlanders as well.
- Fixed upkeep of Redoran general's bodyguard unit, as it was ridiculously high due to a typo and was killing the faction.
- Added shield defence stats to the Blades
- Added missing vampire general texture to some factions
- Increased durations between dungeon missions. Unqiue fighters and mages guild moved later into the game.
- The game should be now more modifiable without saves crashing (removed hotseat settings in cfg)
- Unique generals now have lower bodyguard count and upkeep.
- Uriel Septim now can move (but still a bit slower)
- Added Mankar Camoran (as a priest :P)
- Fixed the issue when sons of Torygg had no traits when they reached adulthood.
- Fixed some incorrect or misleading directions. Updated missing information, such as that you need to destroy churches of other religions to build unique buuildings, such as Toneaka and vampire/undead buildings. Or that you need to take Herne along with Stros to recruit the pirates.
- Added missing strat models for Vedam and Orvas Dren
- Added many clan surnames to the reachmen, new first names for the daedra, etc
- Ancano is no longer part of rebels. Fixed a few other incorrect lore names, etc
- Fixed the issu with newborn baby pic showing an arg baby each time
- UI crash fix (Credits to Carnage)
- Added some new descriptions for several imperial units (Credits to Abeam)
- Implemented parts of Undead Invasion submod (Credits to Farin Frostgeir), such as banners, buildings, cursors, etc
- Added most of Crimson Tide graphics mod. There is now better dust, blood, dirts, etc in battles.
Remaining bugs:
- Some of the dungeon battles are bugged, which is due to their location- Sometimes it helps, if you attacked from other side. Report the ones that are bugged, to help resolve the issue!
- Pink pic for rebel generals
- If you see any other bugs, please report it, so that it can be fixed for the next version!
There are many other HUGE features included in the mod, such as new factions, campaigns, units, dungeons,... SEE the FULL CHANGELOG (includes all the feature - LINK)

I can only use the non-feature version, but that was to be expected.
But even in the standard one, i can't get to the second turn, i always crash with the end turn button (and also when i try a custom battle), and i have to end the game with task manager
I'm having a more odd issue that I can't seem to find anywhere else. I want to at least try to get EOP working, but Medieval 2 hits some kind of unspecified error at launch and quits on me whenever I use EOP. In essence, I can't launch the mod from TES UP. I haven't touched any settings, as per the launcher's request. Is there anything I can do to fix it? I know it was working back before 2.0.2, and I'm operating off of a fresh install, but it just doesn't seem to work.

nevermind I hadn't installed the full 2.02 version of the unnoficial patch
but now I have the same problem as above: within three turns the stormcloak rebellion campaign crashes without explanation
Hello, I just installed the full feature version but there is no music in the campaign map. Is there a fix? Ive checked all the settings and everything is what it should be full volume etc. Could you help? Thanks really enjoying the mod
I should add I previously had music in the campaign map during battles etc before I installed the hotfixes, it has nothing to do with going to the full version as far as I can tell. Please help
Thats weird, there should always be music... I think it must be due to some sound settings of yours, do you hear other sounds than music? If not, you can definitely fix it by unchoosing "mute sound" in sound settings
Played in this version, Stormcloak Rebellion campaign, Ulfric is sole high King, Redoran got obliterated, Empire sued for peace, Skyrim is is finally in peace. Turn 163- crashes now. Good ending but wanted to continue.
Will play again once more patches for crashes arrive.

Until this get proper installer which are actually work i will bypass this in long circle and i suggest this to most of people to (who also cant play it, don loose your nerves trying to install something that does not work).

I got the same error as you. I fixed it by downloading and installing the unofficial patch 2.0.2 first then the 2.0.3 (this one). I was stupid enough to just install the 2.0.3 and not the 2.0.2 first. Apparently my ******* thought this download was the whole thing.
I have 2.0.2 it works fine, but when i installed the 2.0.3 patch the campaign in the beginning where you select the faction. did not show up but still there, its like selecting an app without icon, and when trying to start the game just crush and still running (i tried waiting nothing happens next) and i have to use Task manager to stop it. (The same results when having custom battle)
Hey quick question how can I get the mod to stop changing my settings every time I launch it? It's not game breaking or anything it's just super annoying to have to change my video settings every time I want to play this mod.
Ah, well in EOP launcher in settings you can just "use standard config", it will use your default settings.... or go to The_Elder_Scrolls.cfg and edit relevant settings

You should try reinstalling. See the anti crash tips in the install thread (such as running as admin and compatibility settings)

Just reuploaded with a small hotkeys fix, in case you are having issue with some of your hotkeys not working some times, try redownloading

Try to reextract the full version again,your antivirus could have deleted a file or something... also make sure to run steam first

When I am installing the patch, it keeps getting stuck at snapshot_custom and makes no progress for hours. Meaning I cannot install the patch.
That is very weird... Sounds like a corrupted download. Hence, I suggest you redownload

Hello, I just installed the full feature version but there is no music in the campaign map. Is there a fix? Ive checked all the settings and everything is what it should be full volume etc. Could you help? Thanks really enjoying the mod

You gotta reinstall, you must have made some mistake along the way, or files got damaged
