It'd be cool if you added one of these as a really rare weapon (Maybe used by uncle Yar or something)

It'd make mutant hunting a lot more interesting :).

These would need totally new Models, Textures, Sounds, Animations, etc which takes a fair while to complete. I myself do not know if N.Aaroe can do any of this (I know he can do Textures). Those weapons (As my observation) are black powder rifles which take ages to reload and would be a hassle to use.

But something alike would be nice. Mosin Nagant or some other russian single shot rifle. I will look into this

Thats awesome the Mosin Nagant is an excellent rifle to add to the mod, how about one of the "Gewehr" family rifles or the "Karabiner" family rifles from WW2 Germany.

Ok, I need to know: What would the bullpup rifle on the right side be?
I mean, it kind of looks like the Croatian VHS, but the carry handle is significantly different at the back and it also seems to be shorter.

PD: Plox, make the Famas G2 :D.

The Bullpup on your right side is the FAMAS F1.
The FAMAS G2 would be very similar with this one so I'm not sure about that...

You sure that's a FAMAS F1? - Considering the F1 doesn't support the 30-round NATO STANAG magazine displayed, which only the G2 support.

Zombro00 Jul 2 2011, 8:35pm replied:

You got that model wrong, there is no FAMAS that looks like that.
Here you have almost all the incarnations of the Famas:
Just put "famas world gun ru" in google.

I'm 100% sure that gun on your pic isn't a FAMAS.

The bullpup rifle at the bottom right is the Belgian FN F2000. ^^

The FAMAS is directly in the middle. :P

I suggest adding a G36 variant, preferably the regular 18.9 inch G36 (GSC G36 seems to be a 16 inch variant that does not exist in real life) or the 12.5 inch G36K. That being said the G36 is a cheaper gun to manufacture than the SIG550 which is why some European countries went with it over the SIG550 thus making it more plausible as a widespread gun among scientists or mercs in the zone. The other idea is many types of ammo. You can buy bad ammo (but more of it and risk jamming, making the gun degrade faster), or buy more expensive ammo that gives better performance (but costs a leg and an arm).

N.Aaroe Jul 18 2011, 5:56am replied:

Thanks for your input. Very interesting idea with the ammo ('bad' could be dirty, scavenged ammo from the areas...) Hmmm... a game aspect that deserves inspection on how to resolve this idea..

nashathedog Jul 20 2011, 2:37pm replied:

Isn't the bad ammo suggestion your making basically what has just appeared in the Swartz mod. A lower quality cheaper version of the ammo types that wears on the gun more. Sounds okay but in that actual game it just seemed a surplus, useless item, I suppose in a mod that really clamps down on what is available it would have a place though. Something like Redux maybe but it felt pointless in Swartz. You just dont have a reason to use it and it has no real monetary value. But it depends on the sort of economy that MISERY has. How hard will ammo be to obtain? Would you be forced to use it even knowing the damage with extra repair costs it would cause? Could it save your life? Who knows???

Will it be possible to attach on every weapon a silencer?

By the way: Will the Mod allow the possibility of stealth? (NPCs see less in the dark as the actor, NPCs do not hear the nightvision-toogle and so on)

Most new weapons allow a silencer and a scope. A few even allows a grenade launcher.
The aspect of stealth by night is not bad at all and no the NPC's doesn't hear your nightvision goggles.

Hey man, I've been watching this mod ever since I got my hands on I.W.A... I'm really hoping there won't be balance issues, such as finding a really high quality weapon really early in the game.

Could it be possible to use Nimble for certain weapons?

+1 vote     reply to comment
Crazyflake Jul 21 2011, 10:24pm replied:

I'm also a bit concerned at the scale of some of the weaponry. Finding a Crysis Warhead SCAR, or an anti-material rifle in the Zone? (Even from Nimble, it's extremely sketchy at best.)

I don't want to be rude, but I'd advise you to find different weaponry, (such as older military sniper rifles) seeing as there's already a sniper rifle in the game that does extreme amounts of damage (The Lynx)

Also, carrying around a rifle of that caliber just isn't viable, those things weigh almost 15 kg's alone unloaded.

N.Aaroe Author
N.Aaroe Jul 22 2011, 4:23am replied:

That's not being rude that's exactly the kind of constructive criticism that I hoped for by announcing the mod so early.

I will be really careful with balancing the mod for a good challenge but in terms of weaponry scale: Yes, the AM rifle is actually a point where I went off in terms of this concept; It doesn't fit and I already implemented a substitute. Introducing the SKS rifle (plus some small arms fire, the GSh-18 and APS Stechkin).

Damn, it feels good to keep the concept on track with the support of watchers (updated the image).

Crazyflake Jul 24 2011, 4:28pm replied:

+1 for the SKS (and the Nagant), and it's always nice to see more pistols.

However, with all these new weapons, I'm sure their appropriate bullet calibers are instituted (or improvised) as well?

+1 vote     reply to comment
N.Aaroe Author
N.Aaroe Jul 24 2011, 4:44pm replied:

There may be some weapons that have alternatives for calibers as you mention. Implementing Every authentic detail would be very time consuming and also unbalancing in terms of ammo ressources throughout the areas.
I may have some weapon specialists on my neck for this decision but on the other hand I would also like to release this mod :-)
