In this mod of Duke Nukem 3D, Duke has a large variety of weapons and gadgets that upgrade as he uses them. As you progress through the game, you will encounter more powerful monsters to match your increased firepower. Based on the popular Duke Plus mod, War of Attrition incorporates many of the same features (including improved monster AI, bot allies, mirrored levels, damage effects, and more). Attrition also comes with over 100 high quality fan made levels and several game modes. Addictive with lots of replay value, Attrition showcases some of the best levels ever made for Duke 3D, adding new gameplay but keeping the essence of the original game intact.

According to reports, the previous download may not have included the code for activating the new enemy. I checked and it does look like I had modified...

Also I noticed that finishing the original episode 1 then takes you to E3M10, E3M11, and E4M9 before actually taking you to episode 2. Was this intended?

Is there a way to put the old explosion sprites back in? I tried renaming the 'new_explosions' folder under GRAPHICS but it just makes explosions disappear.

This is pretty ******* awesome mod dude, but i have a question, how to play other vanilla maps that first episode? I click this classic map option after new game button, and it auto pop up first episode.

Fantastic mod dude, i loved it !!! BTW in my upgrade menu there is a weapon where I cannot acquire at all ? The newest weapons for me is the laser pistol, shock cannon, flamethrower. But it seems that there is an extra weapon.
Also is it really ok to have the second weapon(the one from the battlelord NOT separated? I mean the Ripper and the Minigun are getting upgraded together ? (sorry for bad english)

There was a planned weapon that got left out for balance reasons. As for the minigun/ripper: I felt that upgrading them as one weapon was better for balance, because they share ammo.

Personally, I'd like to see that weapon get brought in anyways.

It looks like the BFG 6666 from your WGR Mod.

Apologies by I got confused, you said they share the same ammo yes ? That's odd... When Ripper is spent from ammo I change it to Minigun...They upgraded together but the ammo is different, but at least they have different alt-fire

Thanks for your reply and yes now that I think about it all the weapons have their own unique ammo type so it was a wise choice after all,

Maybe I was the one who was confused LOL. The real issue is that you can't really control when you get the battlelord gun, since you have to kill a battlelord for it, so it wouldn't be fair to the player to expect them to upgrade it separately from chaingun.

I can't believe this mod has a rating under 10, its incredible and really adds a simple effective system to Duke Nukem. I played through the arena-type missions and had a friggin' blast. Never has Duke Nukem or any game recently been that enjoyable. The installation is hassle free (unlike the other Duke Nukem mods) and runs efficiently well and smooth. I'll be playing this mod for months maybe even years to come.

10/10 easy...
