In this mod of Duke Nukem 3D, Duke has a large variety of weapons and gadgets that upgrade as he uses them. As you progress through the game, you will encounter more powerful monsters to match your increased firepower. Based on the popular Duke Plus mod, War of Attrition incorporates many of the same features (including improved monster AI, bot allies, mirrored levels, damage effects, and more). Attrition also comes with over 100 high quality fan made levels and several game modes. Addictive with lots of replay value, Attrition showcases some of the best levels ever made for Duke 3D, adding new gameplay but keeping the essence of the original game intact.

Hello, i have one question, it's there a way to save player level progress? because i played random missions and then at certain point the game ends and my progress was lost, i finished at lvl 15 and i want to reach max level haha
I find a way to keep playing levels (changelevel in console before finished last level) but my level was not raising anymore, when i change the map, my experience returns to the previous level.

Awesome mod by the way, keep updating this master piece, you need to work with gearbox to show them how a duke mod must be

Sorry for my bad english

Thanks for your comments! The high score mode allows you to keep playing forever. It's like random missions but there is no ending.

Sort of. It will run but a lot of the graphics will be missing or messed up.

Also I noticed that finishing the original episode 1 then takes you to E3M10, E3M11, and E4M9 before actually taking you to episode 2. Was this intended?

Yes, it is by design.

Is there a way to put the old explosion sprites back in? I tried renaming the 'new_explosions' folder under GRAPHICS but it just makes explosions disappear.

To make

1- Open the duke3d.grp file with slade 3
2- Extract the explosion sprites
3- Go into new_explosions folder and replace the new explosions with the old ones

That won't work because the new explosions have more frames, different timing and code. EDIT: oh lol I just noticed how old that question and reply was

I can't believe this mod has a rating under 10, its incredible and really adds a simple effective system to Duke Nukem. I played through the arena-type missions and had a friggin' blast. Never has Duke Nukem or any game recently been that enjoyable. The installation is hassle free (unlike the other Duke Nukem mods) and runs efficiently well and smooth. I'll be playing this mod for months maybe even years to come.

10/10 easy...
