In this mod of Duke Nukem 3D, all 12 of Duke’s weapons gain experience points and upgrade as he uses them. Duke’s max health, armor, and some of his inventory items can also be upgraded. As you progress through the game, you will encounter more powerful monsters to match your increased firepower. Based on the popular Duke Plus mod, Attrition incorporates many of the same features (including advanced monster AI, bot allies, mirrored levels, damage effects, and more). Attrition comes with a large number of high quality fan made levels. In some episodes, missions are selected at random, and you must reach a certain score to unlock the boss level and finish the game. In War of Attrition mode, you face a series of challenges with "Invasion" style gameplay. Addictive with lots of replay value, Attrition showcases some of the best levels ever made for Duke 3D, adding new gameplay but keeping the essence of the original game intact

Yes, it is compatible with the HRP. It won't have all the monster colors but it should work fine. I even went to the trouble of writing some extra HUD code and including a different shotgun model for use with the HRP.

There is an included .bat specifically for using the HRP, so obviously it is an option.

I just used it with the HRP a few days ago and it worked fine. If you are having crashes, the best place to go is the forums, where there are threads for the HRP, Attrition, etc.

One known issue with the HRP is that it can hang while pre-caching textures at level load time. This can be prevented by skipping the pre-caching (press and hold the space bar to do so). I'm not aware of any problems that have to do with Attrition specifically.

This mod reminds me of doom 2 mod - ScoreDoom, so if you like Attrition mod(which is awesome) and you like doom1,2,..(which is awesome too) then you will like also ScoreDoom mod.

I hope that means you like the new version. By the way, if you ever feel like posting a gameplay movie, I would welcome it. Every once in a while I get people telling me the mod is too hard, so it would be good for them to see the error of their ways. :)

Heh, it's only hard if you don't have a focus weapon. I have been working on the HSC for days, waaaay too much gameplay to log. lol

I can try it next time. ;-)

BTW I found a wierd occursion with the High level Pipe Bombs, When I throw them down a hall or into a room, out of nowhere I seem to get set on fire by my own bombs! Like the flames were spawning under me and not them. It has almost killed me a few times on HSC. I was messing around with it on a random playthrough and I actualy got burned to death at 370 HP and 410 Armor. The damn flames were stuck to my dead body 2 min after! Might want to look into that one... :-(

I'm guessing that's a new bug, because no one ever noticed it before. I didn't change anything about burning, though, that I can recall. I wonder if the new eduke32.exe has anything to do with it.

Their melee attack makes the player burn. Not forever, but it hurts a lot, maybe a little more than it should.

Ok, I did a fresh install and tried it again. The Pipebomb fire stopped spawning under me, but the flames can still get me through walls and barriers. The Drone causes me to burn to death after I kill it if it sets me on fire when clawing me. >.<

I can't believe this mod has a rating under 10, its incredible and really adds a simple effective system to Duke Nukem. I played through the arena-type missions and had a friggin' blast. Never has Duke Nukem or any game recently been that enjoyable. The installation is hassle free (unlike the other Duke Nukem mods) and runs efficiently well and smooth. I'll be playing this mod for months maybe even years to come.

10/10 easy...
