Hi... my name is Tibirius Lee, and I'm originally from the UK but I live with my wife, Chie, in Shirakawa-go Japan; which is a rather lucky place to be since it tends to be Japanese inclusive... buuut Chie's family has lived there for 125 years and I may not be able to buy a house there, but there's no law against living in one there. =3 I like Doom. A Lot. Like, way too much. I've been playing doom on a weekly; if not daily. Since I was 6 years old. I have a boring YouTube page about Doom, called the ModernDoomer89 but I'm hoping to stop procrastinating, train my droll monotone to be a bit more enthusiastic (Apparently I sound like Richard Dawkins... Except talking about Doom.) and entertaining to listen to, and make my page a bit more interesting. When I can stop procrastinating, that is. Speaking of which - now is a good time to procrastinate. See-ya! *Goes to play that random Doom map he just downloaded.*

Halp. I'm having an issue! I can't play it. Mouse is totally broken. The only screen the mouse works on is when selecting GDI or Nod from Start New game. If I move my mouse around on the main menu or during an actual mission, the mouse flies to the corners of the screen. Scroll rate is set to lowest possible. I cannot place the mouse pointer on any menu option or over anything in game. I can click drag but it is slow. This is on the latest windows 10. I've run it on Windows 10 before with no issue, not sure what has changed!

Needs some work, but I was impressed - mostly by the atmosphere. You nailed the "tone" and "feel" I would have expected out of the earlier, darker HL2.

I've been following those instructions and it simply doesn't work for me. First time I've had a mod for DP that doesn't work that way. Do I need a different version of Dark places? Is it not compatible with the x64 version?

Edit: Disregard this. Was a fecking typo.

I can't play it. Whenever I launch I get "cannot open file fsgame.ltx check your working folder."

I've installed the game as well as the Patch. Any suggestions...?

EDIT: Disregard this comment, I suck *****. Didn't notice you needed to put it on top of your previous 1.3003 installation.

The instructions don't help in installing the mod with an Origin copy of CNC 3. Typing UI into the commnad line argument does not help.

I'm trying to play this with DOPA. For the most part it works fine but it forces in extra monsters I don't want like the spider and what not. What do I do to prevent it from starting with that? I looked at what mods are enabled and it says that only DOPA is enabled... :S

Hey, what is the anomaly that can be found in the houses in the area at the beginning of the game? Are they meant to not really do much of anything? I kind of wanted to see what they do and made a quick save and then intentionally walked into one, and it kind of clinged up to the wall and snapped and my detector kept beeping but other than making hissing noises and weird particles appearing it didn't really... do anything. Is it broken?

Thanks! I toyed with those a bit, I get a steady 60 frames now with SSAO on medium and grass shadows off and the grass density at 75%. Was able to leave everything else mostly high. Again, thank you for the advice. =)

Hey, could someone more computer savvy tell me what settings in the menu are the most visualy intensive? I've actually got the game running pretty well with most things except Anti-aliasing pumped all the way up, but it is kinda jarring when the game can be 60 fps smooth and then go down to 34 in certain areas, and I kinda get intimidated by long settings lists of things I don't understand and I'd just like to know which settings are best to tone back for a steadier framerate? These are my specs if it helps:

AMD 8150-FX 3.6 GHz Eight-Core
nVidia GTX770
16 GB Ram
Windows 7 64 Bit

I kind of doubt he's always been blind or 100% blind, but either way you'd be amazed what people can do despite certain handicaps like that. Hell, I lost my left leg a few years back and yet I can still kick *** on a DDR machine any day of the week and while I can't run without my prosthesis, I can "bunny hop" faster than I can walk without losing balance. :D I can't pick stuff up with my feet anymore though and stay standing :( I used to be stupidly good at that, lol. So mad props to the guy who made this mod, you are the Tommy of video gaming :D

Great mod, but is there any way to use a custom hud? I've tried the latest Visors pack and it says there is one compatible with this mod, but it doesn't really work and TBH I don't much care for the new mug. Just a nitpick obviously but if there is some way I can fit in an alternate hud, lemme know :D

It won't work for me. Nor will several other graphics mods, it seems. This happens: S29.postimg.org
The game runs fine without the mods, maxed at 60+ frames :S

EDIT: There's another oddity, if I look at the water its either solid blue or shaded, and moving my screen the shaded part bands and moves: Postimg.org

Here are my specs:

AMDFX 8150 3.70 GHz
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit (I'm using the 64 Bit Exe. 32 bit won't work.)
16 GB Ram
nVidia GeForce GTX770 @ 4GB

I keep getting a crash, with ntdll being the problem listed along with the base games .exe :S I tried the suggestion to stop sweetFX but that didn't help nor did turning off the Steam overlay :( The game works fine without the mod. EDIT: Nevermind, I only renamed the .dll files in the bin/sweetFX folders, not just the regular .bin folder. Renaming that one help. ^__^

Out of curiosity, is this superior, inferior, or equal to the Quake HD Pack found @ /mods/quake-hd-pack-guide? I use that pack, and I don't see a huge difference in the screenshots here, but if this pack is superior either in visual fidelity or system optimization I'd love to know so I know whether to stick with the other HD pack or upgrade to this one.

Great mod. I am curious though, similar to how you increased the amount of corpses - can you find a way to make blood more frequent or last longer? It's just a minor tweak but it'd be nice :3

Last time I checked I was 23, and PewDiePie is just a guy having fun on YouTube. You don't have to like him.

Also, it's rather childish to go around complaining that because he's played it - the community for this game is "ruined." Just ignore PewDiePie if you don't like him, whining is pointless.

I actually got the graphics working with all settings on except SSAO. It appears that if I turn SSAO on, that creates the issue. I AM using the beta drivers since they enhance the performance on practically everything, but I imagine they might be causing the problem - if not, maybe you can look into it on your end. At least I can play now. =) My reaction to playing the game, BTW:
ヽ(゚Д゚)ノ (That's a good thing though =3)

Nope! Sorry. Not unless Doomsday incorporates zdoom DECORATE code, which I doubt it ever will since Doomsday is more focused on classic Doom play with better graphics and doesn't incorporate many modern scripts.

Technically, yes. The BFG edition executable just emulates Doom 1 and Doom 2 internally, which means that that the BFG edition has the .wad files needed for any Doom modification. Download Zandronum, find the .wad files in your BFG edition directory, then download the mod and magic happens. An appealing idea is the fact that the BFG edition has the formerly Xbox 360 exclusive Doom 2 add on "No rest for the living" which people like moi with no 360 haven't played yet.

I'm having some problems with this mod, in both Zandronum and Skulltag that I Just didn't use to have. If I turn on "Smooth sprite edges" then it gets rid of that effect where blood engulfs body sprites; which is nice.... but then many monsters, especially imps, sometimes pink demons, always boss monsters, and once Cacodemons - either turn white when they use attack animations, or are white all the time. However if I turn it back off, I get that effect where the blood consumes bodies... aaand now it also creates an effect where enemies flicker.

This appears to have happened after updating my gtx 670 to the latest version, but rolling back didn't fix it. :S

Actually, I am curious about a future prospect: Do you plan on maybe adding more random elements? I initially thought the marines you can rescue were placed in by you as they often spawned in similar spots; but I was playing different wads, like Doom the way Id Did and such, and saw the poor guys in random spots. There's also the random berserk drop. Could it be possible, or in your interest, to throw in a more random form of monster placement? That could make the difficulty even more of a challenge to overcome =D
