Use 7-zip to open the pack. Play shareware episode, or buy full Quake from id software, or on Steam.

I don't know whether you're still maintaining this.. but it's not working well with Bethesda's recently released official free episode, DOPA.

I keep starting in the water, unable to jump/swim (noclip and fly mode dont help with this even once i get on land) and it looks like most of the cinematics like fire fx or slipgate fx are off.

I have tried commenting out the gameplay fix cvars to no avail.

Got any suggestions on how to play this latest episode with your mod?

Quake HD is using a start.ent file for the original Quake start map. That is why also DOPA episode will use this same start.ent file. That is not good.

To fix the issue do this:
1. extract DOPA into a subfolder inside your Quake HD, called: dopa
2. start the DOPA episode with a shortcut: darkplaces.exe -game dopa
3. wait until the new demo appear then open your console
4. and type into it: sv_entpatch 0
5. hit return and start a new game. DOPA will now start correctly.
6. now type into console: sv_saveentfile
7. hit return
From now on everytime you start DOPA, it will use the correct DOPA start.ent file.

You only have to do this once. DOPA will work fine afterwards.

When i start a game it starts me with all guns,full ammo and all keys. Also how do i play the missionpacks

The mod itself works fine and it does enhance the game with some amazing visuals. There's just one thing I need to ask. When I extracted all the files to the Quake folder, my Antivirus put "Mission Pack 1.exe" into the Quarantine telling me that it's a trojan/virus (Symatec Norton). Just wanted to ask if it is in fact a false positive just to be sure :)

Can you add a couple mods to Quake HD Pack?

1. The difficulty mod made by Seven. It lets you adjust the monster health, monster weapon damage, and player weapon damages. Here's a link:

I've always wanted those two features, but can't get them to work right. You know how to combine mods well and Quake HD Pack is my favorite version of Quake, which is why I'm asking here.

All those features are already implemented in the SMC mod by Seven:

The Quake HD pack is using a old version of the SMC mod. You should update to new SMC version anyhow. It brings lots of new features.

When I install this and try to play it on my laptop at 1920x1080, the hud is off the screen, so I can't see my health. It works ok on my desktop running at 1680x1050. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Look for a file called: csprogs.dat
It might be in the id1 subfolder or inside a .pk3 archive.
Delete it. Done.

This mod compilation uses a custom HUD which is buggy.
After you delete it, you will have the original HUD again and no more issues.

Anyone else seeing a strange spider in Scourage of Armagon with this? Not a centroid, a scrag-projectile spitting spider. Appears to be a high-poly model and uses centroid soundfiles. Corrupted texture. Not too dangerous but can jump.

Just odd, SoA doesn't contain these afaik I can't find any reference to them. It reminds me of the Hexen II spiders - maybe it's been included by mistake?

So far has only appeared once on level 3, normal difficulty.

Update: On restarting the level, it was replaced by a Centroid, which I believe is what it was supposed to be. Unsure how to replicate the bug.

Installation: Easy as breathing. Just copy and paste two original files from your Quake CD into a given folder, run the vispatcher. After that just copy and paste these two files in another given folder and you are done and ready to play. I personally hate it when I have to read several instructions of how to get amod running.
