Hey man, don't know if you've considered this, but when you design your personal game, you should build it on the same backend you want this game to be on. It'd make it much easier to streamline the backend for both if they're running on the same code.
Plus, the basic netcode/interface you have in place now can be used for a variety of different things.
Irregardless, goodnight, and good luck.
Your passion also just so happened to have sunk my battleship.
I'm mostly disappointed by the fact I thought this was an actual update :/
Well I honestly can say this wasn't what I expected to see when I had three updates. I'm officially pleasantly surprised :D
I think it would make a lovely addition to my fleet. However what of the addition of unicorns to the Covenant? I was really looking forward to that.
Am I the only one who thinks a land battle map that`s at or on a space casino would be awesome?
Thanks for updating so quickly! The killer Narwhals are a running joke with my friends now, but I`m happy to be able to build them.
poor Republic :( and just a heads up you misspelled battles.
They won`t wait longer than a year. More than likely EA will release the SDK in parts like UDK originally was by releasing certain features over a period of time until a full SDK is released.
The studio version of any set of design tools doesn't primarily have an accessible UI for the average modder. Better for them to wait a month or two after the game releases so they can ensure necessary patches can get out and then form an SDK then release the studio development kit to the public.
You're comparing Half Life which was a purely singleplayer game to Battlefield 3 which is said to have a really long singleplayer campaign and has arguably the best multiplayer as a franchise in the entire FPS genre of games, and saying that BF3 won't remain as fresh for very long? The multiplayer will hold people over long enough that they can form an SDK. For people to expect a studio to release a fully usable SDK for a AAA game that's been in production probably since before Bad Company 2 was released is kind of selfish. Let them release their game, enjoy their product, and the SDK will surely come since they care primarily about their PC fanbase.
Guys if you watched the Frostbite 2 tech demo there's a ridiculous number of professional tools they used in the engine for animation capture and such. They primarily used live capture so there's very little rigging for models and adding destruction capabilities and DX11 tools on models would be very complex. Try to understand where they're coming from for now, there'll be a SDK eventually I'm sure.
I understand that, I`m saying I`ve tried pressing down and shift and control and C and none of those keys have worked to shift around the platform.
hey guys downloaded the demo and gotta say I love the graphic style, but I can`t get anywhere cause the control scheme isn`t listed and there`s no way to change it
Looks fantastic. I`ll try and give the demo a go when I have the chance. Kinda picked a bad day to launch though, RaW is releasing today.
Absolutely fantastic, like the detail in the frontal sensor array. Btw, how much longer until the next beta release?
Unless you actually see how powerful the source engine is when it's not all Half Life 2 assets. Go look at Dear Esther's remake and tell me that doesn't look beautiful.
Nice to see a pretty good amount of progress coming out of Homefront and Starside Intercept. I think ever since Ringleader broke off to start his own Halo Conversion mod it's started up a pretty nice competition ^^ Can't wait for both finished products though, I'll be playing both.
Hey any way you guys could release some 1080p widescreen wallpapers? I'd love to have some of your art on my desktop ^^
keep up the good work!
Guys it's not even December yet. Hell, for all you know they could release it December 30th at 11:59 P.M.
Same here. It gets to "loading dustclouds" and then it crashes and says please insert Homeworld 2 disk?
Besides the more time they spend compiling an alpha release the less time they can dedicate to improving the mod. Like what LordGrantus said, give it some time man.
Nice concept. Positioning of guns is definitely really well thought out. Can's wait to see it modeled!
Isn't it detrimental in terms of realism though? I know a lot of fps mods that are going for a tactical warfare feel usually claim realism as one of their big selling points and doesn't the use of crosshairs detract from that realism?
Not trying to bag on crosshairs, just love ironsights better.
Dude that is an insane level of detail. Have you figured out animations for the hangars yet or do interceptors kind of just phase out?
Got to agree with Matt. Although it would be awesome to release a demo it takes time away from development which is getting us closer to the FULL release. And in terms of publicity, it's up to us as mod supporters to spread the word.
I think what clone means is an alpha release would make both him and I very happy men...
xD i know I hate some of the mods' voice acting like Rebellion's voice acting made me want to pull my hair out xD
Yeah I just accepted it. It's okay though, I like the new way I'm mapping it out. Also, it's allowing me to experiment with a few things I've figured out.
xD it might be a while though. Unfortunately I lost all the files yesterday doing a junkfile scan so I have to restart from scratch.
